Chapter 47 Trouble Never Ends

Hearing his trembling voice, Lin Wanwan quickly grabbed his hand and said, "I understand. I promise I'll be more careful in the future and won't be so impulsive."

Lin Wanwan's cheongsam was covered in blood. Lu Feng told her to wait while he went home to get her some clothes to change into.

Just as he turned to leave, he saw Gu Changfeng stride in, supporting Xu Zhang and asking, "Are you alright?"

Xu Zhang shook his head and whispered, "I'm fine, it's Wanwan who's injured." He then turned to Lu Feng and called out, "Don't go back to get your clothes. Take your Uncle Gu's car back in a bit."

Gu Changfeng looked at Lin Wanwan's bandaged arm. "What happened? I heard someone say that Zhang Jiang came to cause trouble?"

"Yes, she came to me with a knife. The people in the hospital were too scared to come in. Who knew she was so bold? She rushed into the room. Luckily, she came in and interrupted us. I think Zhang Jiang was about to lose control and hurt someone at any moment. If Wanwan hadn't come in and interrupted us, I don't know what Zhang Jiang would have done."

Xu Zhang recounted what had just happened with lingering fear. Fortunately, the wound wasn't deep, but he didn't know if it would leave a scar.

"How could you be so brave, rushing forward without even knowing what was going on?" Xu Zhang poked her head and said with concern, "It's terrifying to see so much blood."

Lin Wanwan pulled her hand and said coquettishly, "Mom, stop talking. You've already scolded me. Do you want me to scold you again? If you say anything more, Lu Feng will scold me again."

Gu Changfeng looked at her pale face and blood-covered body, and scolded her sternly, "Don't do this again. It hurts us so much when you get hurt. There are professionals to do these things. Don't take such risks again."

"I understand, Uncle Gu. The situation was critical at the time, and it was my first time encountering it. I didn't think too much. I just wanted to go in and distract him so that he wouldn't get so agitated. He was too emotionally unstable, and I was afraid he would hurt Xu's mother."

“You must never do that again. Look how worried Lu Feng is,” Gu Changfeng said, pointing to Lu Feng, who was standing silently with his lips pursed.

"Mom, Mom, Dad, are you alright?"

The people inside first heard an anxious voice, and then saw a tall, burly man rush in.

Gu Changfeng immediately stepped in front of Lin Wanwan and shouted, "Be careful, don't bump into Wanwan."

Hearing the noise, the person stopped and stood at the door. "Mom and Dad, are you alright? I heard that Uncle Zhang is causing a scene here?"

Xu Zhang looked at him with annoyance, "Why are you back? Didn't you say you'd be back in a few days when you called? Why didn't you tell me you were coming back early?"

"Mom, how am I supposed to answer all these questions?" Gu Bei stepped forward and put his arm around Xu Zhang's shoulder. "Are you alright? I just heard that Uncle Zhang came to cause you trouble."

"It's alright now. It's all thanks to Wanwan rushing in and interrupting things. Otherwise, with Zhang Jiang so agitated, who knows what he might have done."

Gu Changfeng stepped aside from Lin Wanwan, and Lu Feng immediately stood next to Lin Wanwan and put his arm around her shoulder.

Gu Bei only then noticed the other two people in the room. Lin Wanwan was standing in front of the desk, tilting her head and looking at him curiously.

Gu Bei was also looking her over, and smiled as he said, "My mom has called several times to say that the little tagalong who used to follow me around when I was little has grown up and become a beautiful young woman. I didn't believe it."

Lin Wanwan stared at him for a while, then said with a smile, "That doesn't sound like something Xu's mother would say."

"That's not exactly what I said, but the meaning is similar. Thanks to you today," Gu Bei said with a smile.

Gu Bei turned his head and saw the man next to him with a dark face, but pretended not to see him.

"Mom and Dad, let's go home. My sister is injured and has lost so much blood. Let's go home."

Lu Feng turned to Gu Changfeng and Xu Zhang and said, "Uncle Gu, I'm taking Wanwan home first. I'll come see you again in a couple of days."

Xu Zhang glanced at his son and said, "Let's go to our house first, have dinner, and then go back. Where's Tuanzi?"

Lu Feng pursed his lips and remained silent, looking down at Lin Wanwan. His meaning was clear: he didn't want to see Gu Bei right now.

Lin Wanwan had no choice but to say, "Let's go home first. I still need to change my clothes. I'll take Tuanzi and Xiaohai with me later."

Gu Changfeng nodded, "Okay, I'll have the driver take you back. You go back first. Where's Tuanzi? We'll come pick her up. You're covered in blood; you might scare Tuanzi."

"Tuanzi, I've given her to Wang Lin. She's downstairs."

"Okay, we'll go down and pick you up first. You two can come down later," Xu Zhang walked over and touched Lin Wanwan's little face. "Does it hurt? Mom will cook you something delicious tonight."

"Thank you, Mom. It's nothing. Didn't we apply the medicine? You're a doctor too, you saw it just now, the wound isn't very deep."

Gu Bei raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything when he heard how the two addressed each other.

"Change your clothes and come home early," Gu Changfeng instructed.

He nodded twice to indicate that he understood, and waited until the Gu family of three had left.

Lu Feng immediately hugged Lin Wanwan tightly and wouldn't let go. Lin Wanwan felt like her waist was about to break from his grip. "Lu Feng, if you don't let go, I'm going to get hurt again."

Lu Feng then loosened his grip, saying, "Don't smile at him, it makes me jealous."

Hearing his nonsensical words, Lin Wanwan wanted to laugh but only dared to suppress it. "I already said I can't even remember what he looks like. I don't remember anything from when I was a child. I was only three years old back then."

“Now that he’s here, do you think he’s better than me, and then you like him?” Lu Feng stared at her.

"Lu Feng, do you lack confidence in me or in yourself?" Lin Wanwan looked up at him.

Lu Feng pursed his lips and looked at her. "I've never felt so inferior before. I'm afraid I'm not as good as him, that you'll look down on me, that you won't like me."
