Chapter 65 Resumption of the College Entrance Examination

The two of them had no time to care what others were saying; they were just heading home.

"Mom, is the document really out? When was it released? Did the news come from Beijing?"

"Yes, your dad called your Uncle Gu. Your Uncle Gu sent someone over to say that my son is lucky and a blessed child. You've been studying so hard lately, and it's finally paid off. Your face has gotten thinner. Today, Mom will cook you something nice to nourish you. You have to go back to Beijing to take the exam, right? You need to register."

"Yes, we're going back to the capital to take the exam. Lu Feng is going to take it too, Mom, you know that, right?"

"I know, I know, but the school Lu Feng applied to not only requires good grades, but also a recommendation. The recommendation is no problem, but how is his academic performance?"

"He's better than me. I always ask him for help with math problems I don't understand. He's even better than me."

Hearing her say that, Xu Zhang was relieved and said, "That's good, that's good. You two are both very capable."

Xu Zhang cooked in the kitchen while urging Lin Wanwan to go to study. The exam was in December, and there wasn't much time left, so she needed to make the most of her time to review.

"Daughter, how's your revision going?" Gu Changfeng arrived shortly after and started calling out as soon as he entered the room.

Xu Zhang rushed out with a knife in hand, shouting, "What are you yelling for? Be quiet, your daughter is studying."

She glanced behind him. "Where's Lu Feng? Why didn't he come back with you?"

"I've already sent someone to call them; they should be back in a bit."

Just then, Lu Feng pushed the door open and came in, still wearing his training uniform.

"Uncle Gu, Mom, is the college entrance exam really back?" Her face showed a hint of disbelief.

Gu Changfeng nodded, his face beaming with joy. "It's back to normal. The news from the capital is accurate; all the documents have been issued."

"I'll cook first, and we'll talk at the dinner table," Xu Zhang said, turning and heading to the kitchen.

Xu Zhang placed a piece of spare rib on Lin Wanwan's plate. "You guys have to go back to the capital to take the exam, right? When are you going back? You still need to register."

“I’ve already asked someone to buy tickets for them. They should be available in the next couple of days. You two get ready. The child can stay with your mother and me for now, and we’ll take him back in a few days.”

"Are you going back too?" Lin Wanwan asked with a smile.

"It's been a long time since I've been back to the capital," Xu Zhang sighed.

“We have a lot to do and can’t just leave. Leave the child with us and you can go back to Beijing to register first.”

Lu Feng nodded, "Okay, then I'll trouble you, Uncle Gu. When you return to Beijing, remember to call in advance, and Wanwan and I will pick you up at the station."

"Commander, Commander," the guard called out as he knocked on the door.

Gu Changfeng called out towards the door, "Come in."

Xu Zhang went to the kitchen to get bowls and chopsticks. "Xiao Li, come and eat."

"No need, Dean Xu, I'm here to deliver the train tickets to the leader. I've already bought them."

"So soon? Sit down and eat. You can't refuse. This is an order," the guard said, and only then did he obediently sit down.

Lin Wanwan looked at the train ticket. "Tomorrow? So soon?"

"If you want to register, hurry up so you don't miss the registration deadline. You can go to the provincial capital this afternoon, and I'll send a car to take you there. You'll stay at a guesthouse tonight, and take the train early tomorrow morning. It'll only take two days to get to Beijing."

Xu Zhang couldn't help but urge, "Go register as soon as you get home. Don't delay, or you'll have to wait until next year."

Lu Feng nodded, "I understand, Mom. I'll sign up as soon as I get back."

"After preparing for so long, the college entrance examination is finally here. All my efforts have finally paid off."

Lin Wanwan turned to Xu Zhang and said, "Mom, come back soon, I want to see Grandpa."

“Okay, okay, I’ll go back to Beijing with you. After you spoke with your grandfather in English last time, he was so happy that he almost took the train to come over. Every time he calls me, he praises you, saying that your spoken English is professional and fluent, and that he will teach you German when you come back to Beijing.”

"Okay, okay, I want to learn. Grandpa is so amazing!"

"I'll take you to see him when I get back; he definitely likes you."

After Lin Wanwan finished eating, while Tuanzi was sleeping, Xu Zhang packed her up and sent her to the provincial capital.

Looking at the luggage under her seat, Lin Wanwan sighed, "I haven't been here long, and I haven't even worn many of my cheongsams yet. Now I have to take them back. Lu Feng, won't you miss the military?"

Lu Feng smiled and said, "I'm not even sure I'll pass the exam."

“We’re both sure to pass the exam. If you don’t, hmph~” Lin Wanwan sneered.

"What if you don't pass the exam?" Lu Feng asked her, looking down at her.

"It's not a big deal if you don't get in. There are probably a lot of talented and good-looking people in university, right? There are students all over the country, and there are always a few who are both good-looking and capable, don't you think, Lu Feng?"

Before Lu Feng could speak, Wang Lin couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"What do you want to do?" Lu Feng tightened his grip on her.

"Not really. I'm pretty, so it's probably normal for me to have some suitors."

Lu Feng stared at her for a while, then turned to look ahead and said slowly, "Don't worry, I will definitely work hard to get in. As for you, you should work hard too. Even in a military academy, there are girls. I'm not bad either. If I have any suitors, that's normal."

Lin Wanwan was furious inside, but she didn't show it on her face.

He gritted his teeth and said, "Fine, let's go back and each pursue our own happiness. You can go and do what you want."

Lu Feng instantly lost his composure, "You dare!"

"Really? Then you try and see if I dare!" Lin Wanwan looked completely unafraid of him.

Lu Feng looked at her with a dark face and said seriously, "Don't worry, I will definitely pass the exam. You better pass it too."

"Don't worry about that. I've been preparing for this for so long, I'll definitely give myself an explanation."

The two arrived home at 3 p.m. The driver picked them up and took them directly to the registration place instead of going home.

Only after they registered did the two feel completely relieved.

"Honey, I'm so tired. My whole body aches. Let's go home and take a shower."

Lin Wanwan, holding Lu Feng's hand, walked wearily toward the parking lot.

“Brother Lu Feng~~,” Lin Wanwan heard a familiar voice.

Is it really that unlucky of me to run into a love rival in my current situation?

Lu Feng ignored them completely, opened the car door to let Lin Wanwan in, and then got into the car himself, completely disregarding the people outside.

"Why aren't we leaving?" Lu Feng said without even looking up.

"Xiao Lu, the people outside seem to know you."

"We don't know them. Let's go home. We're all tired."

Lin Wanwan was overjoyed. "Honey, you're so cute! But this is great, keep it up!"

She hugged him and kissed him. "Stay away from any woman who approaches you with ill intentions, you know? It's best to just ignore her, like you did today."

Lu Feng cupped her head, kissed her, and said with a smile, "I know, I'll keep it up from now on."
