Chapter 75 The Childbirth Team

When Lin Wanwan went upstairs, Xu Zhe and Qian Qian sat in silence on the chairs.

"Grandpa and Grandma, I brought some snacks and tea. I'm coming in," Lin Wanwan gently knocked on the door.

Qian Qian stood up and opened the door. "Just come in, why are you knocking?"

"That won't do. What if I catch you and Grandpa secretly counting your belongings?" Lin Wanwan said with a smile as she carried the things in.

Qian Qian laughed and patted her head, "What do you mean by counting your belongings? What nonsense are you talking about!"

"No? What if you two are whispering to each other? Grandpa, are you hungry? Have some snacks. I brought some with me. I made them at home. You and Grandma can try them and see if they're good."

"Did you come to deliver some snacks today?" Xu Zhe asked her with a smile.

"Yes, I made two kinds for you and Grandma to try. They are both low in sugar, so you and Grandma can eat them."

"You didn't come here to break up a fight?" Xu Zhe smiled as he accepted the mung bean pastry she offered.

"Why would I break up a fight? What kind of fight could I possibly break up? I'm so weak and frail, what can I do?"

Qian Qian couldn't stop laughing at her, so she poked her head and said, "What kind of antics are you doing!"

"If you and Grandpa can laugh, it's worth it for me to act silly."

Xu Zhe ate his snacks and said with a smile, "Then I'll give you all of my and my grandma's belongings. We'll count how much we have in a bit."

"Wouldn't I be making a fortune then! I'll call my brother in a bit and tell him to be more sensible in the future and not to raise his voice at me, or I won't give him a single penny."

"Your brother is willing to raise his voice at you?" Qian Qian praised after eating a mung bean pastry. "His skills are so good? It tastes even better than what you buy outside."

"Grandma is so kind, it is indeed delicious, but it's not as good as what you get in restaurants."

Xu Zhe took a sip of tea and noticed her swollen wrist, asking, "What happened to your hand? Why is it so red and swollen?"

"Oh, it's nothing, I just bumped it."

Qian Qian frowned and looked at her, asking, "Xu Jinyang hit you?"

"No, no," Lin Wanwan said somewhat awkwardly. "It's just that Xu Jinbu said some really nasty things. I tried to scare him with a dagger, but Uncle Xu grabbed me. I didn't really mean to stab him. I was just trying to scare him. He said some really nasty things."

"Why is it so swollen?" Xu Zhe asked, frowning.

"It's alright, Grandpa. It's probably just because your skin is delicate. It's nothing to worry about."

Qian Qian sighed, "It's all because your grandfather and I were too busy in the past and didn't have time to discipline him, which led to him developing this kind of personality."

“Grandma, how can you blame us? Godmother is also your daughter, but she doesn’t act like that.”

Speaking of her daughter, Qian Qian breathed a sigh of relief, "Luckily, your godmother isn't like that. It's just that she's not in Beijing. Your grandfather and I are getting old, and we've always loved being around people. Now there's even less of a family at home."

Why bring this up?

"Grandma, don't worry, we're here for you. I'll work hard to get into university and come home to see you often. There's also Tuanzi. If you don't mind the effort, you can help me take care of Tuanzi."

"Aren't you afraid we'll raise Tuanzi badly again?" Xu Zhe asked her with a smile.

“You and my grandmother are highly educated intellectuals, so what am I afraid of? I’m at ease letting you give the pens to the teacher.”

Seeing that Qian Qian was still frowning, Lin Wanwan could only say, "Grandma, I will persuade Godmother to be transferred back as soon as possible. We all want her and Godfather to come back."

Hearing him say that, Qian Qian smiled a little, "I know you're a good girl, your godmother listens to you the most."

“It’s not that I’m listening to you. Your godmother also wants to come back. She misses you and your grandfather, but she’s worried about leaving your godfather alone in Gansu Province.”

Xu Zhe was more open-minded than Qian Qian, and instead comforted Lin Wanwan, "We know that reunion is inevitable, so don't worry about us."

"Do you and Grandma want to rest for a bit? I'll take Tuanzi with me."

Qian Qian immediately waved her hand and said, "No, no, we don't have that much sleep."

"Come downstairs, Grandma will make you something delicious. Have dinner before you leave."

"Now that I'm here, I'm definitely going to mooch a dinner. Don't think I'm shameless."

Lin Wanwan carried Tuanzi and went downstairs with the two of them.

"Tomorrow I'll have your godmother buy a small bed for the living room, so he can sleep next to us while we chat in the living room."

"Thank you very much, Grandpa. You're going to have to spend money again!"

Xu Zhe pointed at her and laughed, "You little devil."

"What's the expense?" Xu Zhang asked, turning around upon hearing the voice.

Lin Wanwan handed the child over and said with a smile, "Grandpa said he would buy a small bed for Tuanzi in the living room. I said Grandpa is going to have to spend money again."

"It's not about spending money. Didn't you say you'd let me take care of the kids from now on? I need to get everything ready, right?"

"You're going to leave Tuanzi here? Will your mother-in-law agree?" Xu Zhang asked, looking at her.

"What's there to disagree about? She's so young, if she doesn't take care of the kids, she can go shopping and have afternoon tea with my mom more often. Besides, Lu Feng and I aren't going to have any more children, so if she wants to take care of them in the future, she won't have to worry about not having kids."

Xu Zhang said with a smile, "So when are you and Lu Feng planning to have a baby? Have it soon, you'll be busy with university, and we'll help you take care of the baby."

"Neither you nor my godfather are in the capital, so there's no place for you."

Xu Zhang pretended to hit her, and Lin Wanwan immediately sat down next to Qian Qian, "Grandma, your daughter hit someone!"

"She wouldn't dare, but your godmother is right, have the baby early, otherwise it will be hard to get pregnant while you're in school and it will interfere with your studies."

"Okay, I'll tell Lu Feng when he comes later, 'Okay, I'll have a few more children, then you won't fight over them, okay?'"

“This child!” Qian Qian patted her head.

When Lu Feng got home, he heard that something had happened to the Xu family. Before Song Lanzhi could finish speaking, he turned around and went out, taking his car keys and heading to the Xu family's house.

The group was chatting and laughing when Lu Feng rushed into the house in a hurry, and Lin Wanwan was stunned for a moment.

"Why are you running so fast?" Lin Wanwan went up to him and asked.

Lu Feng put his arm around her and looked her up and down. "Are you alright?"

"It's okay, I called my mom and told her. Did you only hear half of it when you got home and then run away?"

"I was worried something had happened to you, so I came straight over. What happened to your hand?"

"My hand hurts, Xu Jinyang pulled it like that," Lin Wanwan said coquettishly.

"Did you apply the medicine?" Lu Feng asked with a slightly dark expression, his voice filled with concern.

"My godmother applied it to my face, but it still hurts."

"Don't scare Lu Feng, come and sit down," Xu Zhang beckoned to him.

"Her skin is too delicate, and it's a little swollen. She just scared Xu Jinyang by holding a dagger. Don't worry, she's had some medicine applied."

Lin Wanwan linked arms with him and smiled, "Grandma made something delicious tonight, you're in luck, you're benefiting from my cooking."

“We were just urging her to have a baby, and you’ve come at the perfect time. When are you planning to have a baby? You’ll have even less time now that you’re in college. Your grandparents and your mother can help you take care of the baby. What are you thinking?” Xu Zhang invited him to sit down.

Lin Wanwan listened with a smile, without arguing. She seemed to be somewhat persuaded; giving birth earlier would allow her to focus on her studies sooner.

“I’ll listen to Wanwan,” Lu Feng said, glancing down at his wife.

"Wanwan said we should have more children so we can raise them together and avoid fighting over who gets to raise them, hahahahaha."

Lin Wanwan was startled. Oh no, she had exaggerated too much. She didn't want her family to become a family that violated the one-child policy.
