During the New Year's Eve dinner, Lin Wanwan helped with the cooking. While eating, Lin Wanwan asked Bai Ying, "Do you want to come to Beijing with us?"
"Go to the capital?" Bai Ying was startled by her words and turned to look at Bai Qi.
"What are you taking her to the capital for?" Bai Qiye asked.
"What kind of question is that? What could I possibly do with her? Do you expect me to sell her off?"
Bai Qi smiled but didn't say anything, waiting for her to continue.
“You’re taking the college entrance exam, right? I’ll help you in the past. My younger brother is also in high school. Didn’t you say you were having a hard time studying? Come back to Beijing with me and I’ll ask my dad to think of a way for you to go to my brother’s school and continue your studies.”
"Is it okay?" Bai Ying asked expectantly, as she had been struggling with her studies lately.
“I don’t know if it will work. You’ll have to ask my dad about this. Even if you can’t go back to school, I can find you a tutor since you’re in Beijing.”
Bai Qi was touched and nodded to Lin Wanwan, saying, "Thank you for your trouble."

"I'll definitely prepare a big gift for you," Bai Qi said, placing a piece of beef on her plate before turning to Bai Ying and asking, "Do you want to go?"

Lin Wanwan leaned closer to her and asked, "Are you really not coming back with me?"

When Gu Changfeng and Commander Qian came out of the study, they saw Qian Senlin glaring at Lin Wanwan, his beard bristling with anger.
"Wanwan, don't be rude."
Commander Qian chuckled and said, "It's alright. My dad likes her, that's why he's willing to joke around with her. Ordinary people wouldn't catch his eye."
Lin Wanwan leaned closer to Qian Senlin and asked, "Your son is so capable, why don't you stay home and enjoy your retirement? Why are you working such a long-distance job?"
"What do you know, you little brat? I've loved journalism all my life, and even after I retire, I won't stay home doing nothing."
Lin Wanwan couldn't help but burst out laughing, "Why don't you just say you're bored? Why make it sound so serious?"
Qian Senlin was so angry that he wanted to throw a mung bean pastry at him, but Lin Wanwan handed him one in a conciliatory manner, saying, "Don't be angry, don't be angry. I can't afford to make you sick at your age."
