Chapter 113 Retribution

Song Jin came to the wheat field. Although she had spent a long time at the village chief's house, others were obviously not done yet.

She told them to pick up the missing items, and now there were many boxes and bags on the ground.

After a quick look, I found that this village was indeed not clean. So many things could be found here.

All these things added up exceeded what she had previously received from the Qiu family.

Several groups of people moved back and forth several times, and it was not until dawn that they finally emptied the village.

Song Jin collected all the things without any regrets. She didn't care about their future life, at least they were still alive, so she should be content.

All those who should enter the space were collected, including the little brothers collected by the tiger, wolf and bear. He directly placed them in the mountains with his consciousness, ignoring their shock of arriving in the new environment. After settling them all down, Song Jin also returned to the city.

She still lived in the same guesthouse as before, wanting to wait for further developments.

Sure enough, on the third day when I was strolling on the street, I heard about the incident in Guaizi Village.

Under a big tree at the gate of a family compound, several aunts sat together and talked a lot.

"You may not know yet, but something big has happened in that kidnapper village."

"Oh, who doesn't know this now? I heard it from my son yesterday."

"What are you talking about? Guaizi Village? What happened? I didn't even know. There are things in this county that I don't know about. Why is my news so late? Tell me quickly."

"Yeah, stop keeping me in suspense and tell me now."

The first aunt who took the lead cleared her throat and spoke proudly.

"That Guaizi Village. A few days ago, all the young men in the village went hunting in the mountains. As a result, they encountered some kind of animal, and when they were found, all of them were dead in a cave."

"Huh? Really? Everyone?"

"Hiss... so scary!"

The auntie's story sounded like a ghost story, and everyone felt a little eerie, but they still urged her to keep going and not stop.

Another auntie continued, “My son happened to be on duty that day, and someone from the brigade next door to Guaizi Village found it while hunting on their mountain, so he rushed to report it.

My son told me that they rushed out and when they got there, they were shocked. Oh my God, there were more than 120 people there. It was obvious that the bodies were torn apart by animals.

Many of them were not fully recovered, and the cave was a very secluded one, so they could only enter by themselves.

My son guessed that they must have entered the territory of some social animal. Judging from the wounds, there was more than one kind. It was either a wolf, a tiger or something like that, but it must be a snake.

Oh, there was blood all over the floor. My son couldn't eat for two days after seeing that scene."

Another aunt tried to interrupt her several times, but she didn't know such details. After all, she didn't have a son working in the police station.

But she knew other news, so after hearing her sigh, he immediately continued calmly.

"You don't know? There's more."

As she said this, she first glanced proudly at Mrs. Feng who had just stolen her limelight.

Mrs. Feng...

This old woman, who could possibly know as much as she does? She just hasn't gotten to the point yet. Forget it, give her a chance, or else her heart will swell for a long time.

The others hurriedly urged her, and Mrs. Cui no longer kept the secret and continued to tell the news she had heard.

"This Kidnapper Village must have done too much evil and is finally getting its comeuppance. They've been having trouble since about ten days ago."

After she finished speaking, she paused again, looking at the people around her with shining eyes waiting for her to say the next sentence. Needless to say, she felt a sense of satisfaction in her heart.

This is because I didn’t bring any water when I went out, otherwise I would have to ask for a drink.

The others were curious and couldn't wait any longer.

"Mrs. Cui, please tell me quickly. What happened ten days ago?"

She saw out of the corner of her eye that Mrs. Feng was about to open her mouth, so she quickly spoke.

"Don't worry, I'll tell you what I'm saying.

The earliest case was ten days ago when the daughter of the village chief of Guaizi Village suddenly died at home one day. She was bitten to death by a poisonous snake.

Then from that day on, every night the villagers heard the sound of animals coming down the mountain, such as wolves, tigers, snakes, and even Wong Tai Sin. All kinds of animals came down the mountain every night.

Then all the chickens, ducks, and other animals in the village followed suit. Every morning, the villagers woke up to find that all their poultry had disappeared. There wasn't a single living thing in the village, other than people.

"Oh, is this true? What you said..."

"Keep your voice down. You can't say this now."

"Oh, I know. Isn't this what we sisters whispered about in private?"

"Then this must have offended the mountain god. This is too tragic. All the strong laborers in the village are gone. How will the orphans and widows at home survive?"

"What? You're feeling sorry for them. There aren't many good people in their village."

"That's right. My niece from my mother's side died just a year after they took her back. She was covered in wounds when she was buried. It broke my heart to see her. Her mother-in-law wasn't a good person either. She was bought back herself, and she helped bully others."

"So I say, this is all retribution. Look, they're all dead in one go."

After listening to their discussion up to this point, Mrs. Feng knew that they had said everything they could know and it was her turn.

“Ahem…”

He cleared his throat and said, "I don't know about that. What's the point of offending the mountain god and suffering retribution? My son said that this was probably man-made."

Upon hearing the big reversal, several people immediately stopped their discussion and cast their eager eyes towards Mrs. Feng.

"What's going on? Tell me quickly."
