Chapter 18 Feeling Sorry for He Wen

"Xiao Wen and Xiao Xuan, go to bed first. You can read the picture book tomorrow."

Fu Yuling did not take their books away immediately, but walked over and squatted down to look at them at eye level.

"The light in the room is too dim. Reading is bad for your eyes. Can we read tomorrow?"

Although they were reluctant, they closed the picture book and put it on the table.

It seemed to be past nine o'clock in the evening, and occasionally a few dogs barking could be heard outside.

Fu Yuling helped them make the bed and let them lie down before she went to tidy up the things on the table.

There were all these things she didn't know what to do with, so she found a box and put all the things she thought were useless in it. Looking at the neatly arranged desk, she felt happy.

When I went to see the three kids again, I found that He Xuan and He An were asleep, but He Wen was still awake.

Fu Yuling suddenly leaned over, causing He Wen, who was recalling the dream, to hold back his lips and his eyes to turn red. Tears welled up in his eyes, and he couldn't stop them from flowing.

Fu Yuling was a little confused. What happened?

She had never encountered such a situation before, so she quickly picked up He Wen, patted him gently on the back, and kept talking to comfort him.

"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, mom is here, mom is here..."

Even Fu Yuling herself didn't realize that she called out the word "Mom" so naturally. Hearing this name, He Wen cried even harder.

“Everyone else has a mother, but I don’t…”

“Others are called home by their mothers, but I don’t have a mother…”

He Wen started crying and coughing, his whole face turned red, and his voice became louder and louder.

Fu Yuling hugged him in her arms out of pity, and she cursed the original owner countless times in her heart.

In the past, He Wen called the original owner "Mom", but one time the original owner had a fight with Fu Qi, and when she came back and heard He Wen calling her "Mom", she suddenly smashed a bowl in front of He Wen.

From then on, He Wen never said the word "mother" again.

He Wen must have been terrified at that time. From the original owner's memory, we can see that He Wen's whole body was shaking abnormally and his eyes were full of fear.

He Wen didn't eat that day and had a high fever at night. If Fu Qi hadn't happened to come and see him and quickly took him to the hospital, it's unknown whether he would have survived.

Fu Yuling thought about his ending in the book. In the end, He Wen committed suicide by breaking the bowl and cutting his pulse.

He used the method he feared most to end his life.

This hurdle has become his shadow.

Holding the trembling He Wen, tears flowed uncontrollably from her eyes, she felt so sorry for He Wen.

She leaned her head against He Wen's small head, whispering and caressing him.

It was unknown how long it took before He Wen's body calmed down and he slowly fell asleep in her arms.

Noticing that the person was relaxed, Fu Yuling carefully placed him in bed and patted him gently. After confirming that he was truly asleep, he turned off the lights and fell asleep next to He Wen.

The next day, when Fu Yuling woke up, the three children were still asleep.

After covering them with the quilt, I went to the kitchen, washed up first, and then started to make soup and heat up the sesame cakes.

After finishing all this, Fu Yuling went to the space and found various vegetables in a corner. He pulled out a radish and started to boil water to make soup.

While boiling water, she went to wake up her three children, as they had to eat breakfast.

When I came in, I saw He Wen had already sat up, and he seemed to be still in a daze.
