He led the way with bold, sweeping strokes, the crows on his shoulders occasionally taking flight, landing a hundred meters away as if scouting the situation, and then cawing twice.
"Lord Moldo, please wait a moment."
The people behind shouted.
The towering giant did indeed stop. "Hurry up! If you keep Elder Mudo waiting, you'll be punished."
"Yes, yes, we'll be there soon."
That's different from what I expected.
The rest of the people could only be heard, not seen.
But I'd never heard of names like Moldo and Mudo before.
Who are these people?
How did they find this place?
Or are they all native to this place?
After they left, Jia Xitong stood up and asked, "Host, do you know names like Mudo and Moldo?"
Shang Yanting: "Never heard of it."
Jia Xitong: "Are they better than us?"
Shang Yanting glanced at her, his expression seeming to say, "How could that be?"
—The confidence of a powerful figure with the strength of a Martial Emperor.
"Then why were we avoiding them just now?"
Jia Xitong tentatively offered her idea.
If they are stronger, why are they squatting on the lawn?
Who exactly is the prey?
Who exactly is the hunter?
The confident Shang Yanting froze the moment before.
"That's not bad either. The enemy is in the open, while we are in the shadows."
Jia Xitong stroked her chin and said, "Why don't we follow them and see if their target is the same as ours?"
Unwittingly, Jia Xitong built a ladder for Shang Yanting to descend.
"Okay, sure."
##
The two landed not too close, not too far behind them.
There were eight people in the group.
The tallest one was the one with the axe; the seven people behind him were all short, only 1.2 meters tall, and two of them were carrying a blue and white jar.
The tall man with the axe diligently cleared the way, while the seven dwarfs behind him were slacking off, playing around, and fooling around.
"They seem pretty average. I could beat them."
Jia Xitong casually mentioned it to Shang Yanting.
Suddenly, the tall crow turned its head sharply, its dark eyes fixed on their direction.
A hoarse, unpleasant voice cried out.
The tall man swung the axe by the handle backward, right towards where they were hiding.
Shang Yanting leaped forward and kicked the axe in the tall man's hand.
The axe flew backward and was caught again by the tall man.
His hands were as big as palm-leaf fans. The dull thud when he gripped the axe was so powerful it felt like he could break someone else's bones.
"Someone's there!"
"There's someone here!"
"Lord Moldo, this is different from the information we received."
"Lord Moldo, kill them quickly!"
The seven dwarfs behind them panicked and jumped around wildly, like seven flocks of quacking ducks.
Lord Moldo was getting annoyed by it.
"Stop yelling!"
He first swung his big axe at the seven dwarfs, scaring them into huddling together.
The next second
The large axe then swung towards Shang Yanting and the other man.
This man appears to have well-developed limbs and extremely heavy weapons, but he is incredibly agile and his attacks are swift and fierce.
His cultivation level is also quite high.
The strength of a peak Martial Grandmaster.
After exchanging blows with him twice, Shang Yanting knew his current abilities and then forcefully knocked him back nearly ten meters.
Shang Yanting drew his longsword, the blade pressed against his neck. "Who are you? Where do you come from? What is your purpose in coming here?"
"snort."
The tall man snorted coldly, "Do you think I'd tell you?"
Not going to tell?
Shang Yanting tightened his grip on the longsword; he wasn't the only one with talismans here.
They couldn't reach an agreement.
Just kill him.
He acted without the slightest hesitation.
However, the sword missed its mark.
Suddenly, the tall man shrank two and a half meters into the ground, and in the blink of an eye, only a pit remained on the ground.
Inside the pit
A series of sounds came from behind, revealing that the seven noisy, gossipy dwarves had used their earth-burrowing abilities to rescue the tall man named Moldo.
Wow, you really can't judge a book by its cover.
Jia Xitong looked at the hole that had been dug out, which stretched deeper and further into the distance, with no idea where it led.
Shang Yanting looked at her helplessly, "We lost track of these people."
Although their abilities were average, they were now in a situation where the enemy was in the dark and they were in the light. His gaze fell on the half-meter-tall, bluish-white ceramic jar she was holding. "Was that what those dwarves were carrying just now?"
"Um."
Jia Xitong nodded.
She had just been looking at this jar, and when she turned her gaze, everyone around her disappeared.
What's in this jar?
Magical artifacts, spirit stones, or even demonic beasts—are they all weapons for plotting against people?
Jia Xitong carefully opened the jar, and saw a clump of black hair at the mouth of the jar.
What is this?
Just as Jia Xitong was about to approach, the thing suddenly rose up.
"Hey! Those damned seven servants of the dwarf gnome, they've made your grandpa dizzy."
It turned out there was a person inside.
The person's body was inside the jar, with only their head sticking out. The voice was neither male nor female, and the appearance was that of a seventy or eighty-year-old man. Most strikingly, there was an eye on their forehead.
Like Erlang Shen, he has three eyes.
Who are you?
Shang Yanting's gaze swept over his unusual third eye as well, before he looked at him coldly.
