"impossible!"
The manager argued with him, "Young man, don't make false accusations!"
Their biggest requirement for doing business is integrity; they would never buy counterfeit goods.
Moreover, the Solidification Talisman and the Blessing Talisman are their calling card for entering the Holy Capital Academy and the foundation for their foothold among numerous shops. He personally delivers every single talisman; how could he possibly sell fakes?
The steward carefully examined the other person's appearance.
The people looked completely unfamiliar; they were not his customers at all.
He glanced around at the people and saw several familiar faces among them, making a fuss.
They say that competitors are enemies.
It's likely that the surrounding shops, seeing how well Wanbaoge's business was doing, deliberately hired people to cause trouble and damage their reputation.
He turned to the shop assistant and asked for the roster of talismans for sale. "We have a record of every talisman we sell. Do you have your name? Or we can check for you."
"What are you investigating? You people are just trying to deny it."
The man pushed the manager aside and led his men into the shop, ready to smash it up.
All of them were martial artists, with cultivation levels at the mid-stage of martial arts apprentice. How could a group of ordinary people be a match for them?
The steward panicked and rushed to stop them, but was thrown out as well.
"Dear host, they're bullying that old man!"
Jia Xitong tugged at Shang Yanting's collar, reminding him that it was time to act bravely and righteously.
Shang Yanting, who had been like a wooden doll, moved, and a moment later, a group of people were beaten out.
A red talisman fell to the ground, and Jia Xitong picked it up curiously to take a look.
The patterns on it are messy, and the paper quality is extremely poor; it's clearly not her drawing.
She handed the talisman to the manager of Wanbaoge.
The manager took the item, then took two deep breaths in anger. "This is not something I sell at all. Wanbaoge has always operated with integrity!"
"What do you mean by 'upright and honorable'? Just because you say it's true doesn't mean it's true!"
A voice suddenly broke through, and the crowd that had been surrounding them made way for them.
After recuperating at Jinyang Peak for more than a month, Shang Moyun slowly walked out. When he saw Shang Yanting in front of him, a sinister look appeared in his eyes.
He and Yu'er were hurt;
They stole first place from their Jinyang Peak team;
Now they're ruining things for the merchants again;
What a small world!
He pointed to the people lying on the ground and blatantly lied, "Bullying a group of ordinary people in public, are you Wanbaoge people really that arrogant?"
Looking at the expression on his face, Jia Xitong thought to herself, "To be honest, he's really arrogant right now."
“I can testify that some of the items you are selling are fake talismans.”
Shang Moyun raised his right hand and said loudly to the onlookers around him, "Didn't you say they didn't buy anything from you? Well then, take a look at the list and see if my name, Shang Moyun, is on it."
After he finished speaking, hushed discussions arose around him.
"His surname is Shang!"
There aren't many people with the surname Shang these days, and given the Golden Sun Peak attire he was wearing, everyone immediately guessed his identity.
"Is this the young master of the Shangmou family?"
"They're so rich, they wouldn't frame someone, would they?"
"So there really is something wrong with this Wanbaoge?"
The crowd, who had initially just been speculating, began to discuss the matter and gradually sided with Shang Moyun.
Shang Moyun was indeed a customer of Wanbaoge, and he had visited the store many times to buy talismans. The manager would even reserve a talisman for him every month.
The manager couldn't understand what he had done to offend him, that he would falsely accuse Wanbaoge in front of everyone.
Such despicable tactics.
Shang Yanting knew all too well what Shang Moyun was planning to do.
"If you merchants have opened Treasure Pavilion and Golden Jade Pavilion, why would you still come to buy things from Wanbaoge?"
When Shang Yanting mentioned two names, the expressions of Shang Moyun and several other people in the crowd immediately changed.
The others were also taken aback.
Jin Yu Xuan is right next to Wan Bao Ge, while Xun Bao Lou is on another street. What they have in common is that they both sell items needed by martial arts practitioners. From materials to weapons, from medicine to cultivation techniques, they sell everything. Their businesses highly overlap with Wan Bao Ge's, making them blatant competitors.
However, the waiters at both establishments were arrogant and treated customers differently based on their status. The quality of their food was mediocre, and the prices were much higher than at Wanbaoge, which led to their declining business.
When Shang Yanting mentioned it, the onlookers noticed that the three large gilded characters on the plaque of Jinyuxuan were stamped with the merchant's seal.
The passersby had just thought Shang Moyun was simply trying to help someone in need, but now they felt that his motives were not so pure.
Shang Moyun immediately retorted, "You're trying to divert attention."
Am I really trying to divert attention?
Shang Yanting retorted, "If we destroy Wanbaoge, won't only the shops of merchants be left at the foot of Shengdu Academy in the future? If we're even more ruthless, we can swallow up Wanbaoge, and all its future supplies will be yours."
"When the time comes, won't you be the only ones deciding what to sell, how much to sell, and how to sell it?"
His three sentences tore off Shang Moyun's fig leaf, instantly sobering up the onlookers.
OK!
If things go this way, wouldn't they be the ones who suffer if Wanbaoge collapses?
"Those businessmen are such wicked people!"
"They're already so rich, yet they still dream of dominating the market."
"What are Jin Yu Xuan and Xun Bao Lou? Last time I went there to buy something, the manager there looked down on me."
"Yes! I even bought herbs that cause insect infestation at Jin Yu Xuan, which Wan Bao Ge never sells!"
"What's so great about merchants? This is Holy Capital Academy!"
The whispers among the crowd made Shang Moyun's expression instantly awkward.
"Yan Qing, don't make false accusations. Do you know the consequences of offending us merchants?"
