"I...I arranged to meet an old friend, but I got lost and I don't know how I ended up here."
After Miao Ke'er finished speaking, she looked up at Emperor Yuanwu and said, "Perhaps this is the fate between me and Your Majesty."
Emperor Yuanwu:...
It really is quite a coincidence!
"Your Majesty, are you returning to the palace in a couple of days?" A hint of sadness flashed in Miao Ke'er's eyes. "Does that mean I'll never see Your Majesty again?"
Emperor Yuanwu seemed to understand her meaning: "Would you be willing to return to the palace with me?"
"Really?" Miao Ke'er's eyes widened in surprise, then a blush spread across her face. "I spent the night with the Emperor in the camp yesterday. So many princes and guards saw it. Ke'er did whatever the Emperor asked."
Emperor Yuanwu:...
"You should get some rest," Emperor Yuanwu said, then turned and walked out of the tent.
Miao Ke'er quickly caught up: "Is Your Majesty not staying in the tent to rest tonight?"
"You should get some rest; I have official business to attend to."
Miao Ke'er kept staring at Emperor Yuanwu until he disappeared from sight before her expression relaxed for a moment.
Midnight (11 PM - 1 AM).
Miao Ke'er hid inside the tent, lifted the tent flap a crack, and peeked outside.
Night had fallen, and the lights in all the tents had been extinguished.
The guards standing watch at the gate were already sleepy, nodding and dozing off every now and then.
She took a small piece of spice from her waist, lit it on a candle in the room, covered her nose, and threw it outside the tent.
It didn't take long.
The two guards at the entrance couldn't resist their sleepiness and fell asleep leaning against the tent door.
Miao Ke'er looked around and quietly walked out of the tent.
At the place agreed upon with Mu Junhan, a figure was seen in the distance.
"Is that the Second Prince?" Miao Ke'er lowered her voice and cautiously glanced around again.
After confirming that no one was around, she walked behind the man.
She reached out and wrapped her arms around the man's waist, pressing her head against his back: "I knew it, I knew you would come, Mu Junhan. You've always had me in your heart, haven't you?"
The man's dark eyes blended into the pitch-black night sky, leaving one bewildered.
"What should we do? The Emperor just said he would take me back to the capital."
"I'm so scared, Second Prince. You know, you're the only one in my heart, I..."
As Miao Ke'er spoke, she began to sob softly, "How could I be with your father...?"
"What about me?" The man stood to the side, his gaze sharp as a cold glint in the night, contrasting sharply with the moonlight. His voice was deep and slightly hoarse, yet it exuded a chilling and domineering aura.
The moment Miao Ke'er saw the man's face clearly, her face turned pale, and she stammered, "Your Majesty... Your Majesty."
"Otherwise, what did you think?" With a flash of light, a familiar yet unfamiliar voice came from behind Miao Ke'er, sending a chill down her spine: "You thought the man you were just hugging was... me?"
Miao Ke'er was completely stunned.
She never expected to see this scene: "How? How... could this be?"
"It's unbelievable that a mere embroiderer destined for burial would try to manipulate a prince so easily." Emperor Yuanwu sneered, "Guards... take her away and interrogate her!"
"Yes!" Lu Zhaofeng made a gesture, and two soldiers grabbed Miao Ke'er's arms.
"Second Prince, save me!" Miao Ke'er's eyes darted around. "Second Prince, aren't you afraid they'll take me away now and I'll reveal what happened?"
