Chapter 265 The Timing Was Wrong

Consort Shu's thoughts were completely interrupted by a dog's bark.

She snapped out of her daze and instinctively hugged Mu Qianqian tightly in her arms.

Bin'er quickly arrived at her side: "Your Highness, are you alright?"

Whether it was Consort Zhen who heard the commotion outside, or because there were people outside the palace, the embroidered ball was making a particularly loud noise.

Consort Zhen chased after the embroidered ball as she ran out, and when she looked up, she saw Consort Shu standing outside the palace.

Consort Zhen was taken aback, then hurriedly straightened up and gave Consort Shu a very solemn bow: "Greetings to Your Highness, Consort Shu. May Consort Shu be blessed."

"Get up quickly, there's no need for such formalities between sisters." Consort Shu helped her up. "What are you doing in such a panic, sister?"

"Find the dog!" Consort Zhuang said, looking behind Consort Shu.

Sure enough, a fluffy white ball was circling around her.

"Embroidered ball, embroidered ball, come here quickly!" Consort Zhen called out as she tried to catch it.

I don't know if it's because Xiuqiu and Zhenpin weren't familiar with each other.

The more she shouted, the more she did it.

The faster it runs.

Consort Zhen continued chasing the dog while circling around Consort Shu.

Consort Shu: ...

She seems to have arrived at the wrong time.

only.

When did a dog appear in the palace?

How could she not know?

However, judging from the size of this dog and its clean, white fur, it must have been raised for some time.

Consort Zhen ran until she was sweating profusely, but still couldn't catch the dog.

Her personal maid, Pearl, couldn't bear to watch any longer. While helping Consort Zhen catch the embroidered ball, she said, "Your Highness, if it really doesn't work, why don't you call Consort Qing over? She shouldn't have gone far yet. Perhaps the embroidered ball is a little shy around strangers."

Upon hearing Pearl's words, Consort Zhen froze, as if she had been struck by a magic acupuncture point.

Pearl seemed to realize something and knelt down with a thud: "Your Highness Consort Zhen, please forgive me, it was this servant who spoke out of turn."

"Alright," Consort Zhen said irritably, "Go back to the palace and get a few more people to quickly bring the embroidered ball back."

"Yes, Your Majesty," Pearl said in a panic.

Consort Zhen rolled her eyes at her and hurriedly walked up to Consort Shu: "It really worked, sister. What brings you here today? Come in quickly."

"Hmm." Consort Shu glanced at the group of people busy catching the dog, her smile somewhat stiff. "Did Consort Qing give you this dog?"

Consort Zhen was taken aback: "I brought the embroidered ball over because I thought it was cute, and I'll send it back to her in a few days."

Consort Shu did not press the matter further, but instead glanced at the dog again.

"Is there something you need today, sister?" Consort Zhen asked cautiously as she poured tea for Consort Shu.

"Nothing much, I just felt that we sisters hadn't seen each other for a long time, so I came to visit." Consort Shu took the tea that Consort Zhen brought to her and took a small sip. "I never imagined that my sister hadn't been to Qiluan Garden for so long because she had been raising dogs in the palace."

Consort Zhen felt a little embarrassed by what was said and hurriedly changed the subject: "It's been a while since I've seen the Seventh Princess. She's grown up a lot."

When Mu Qianqian was mentioned, Consort Shu's expression softened instantly. She lowered her eyes to look at the girl in her arms, and a smile unconsciously appeared on her lips: "She has indeed grown a lot. She can even crawl now."

"Seventh Princess, would you like some snacks? Consort Zhen has lots of delicious food here..."
