Chapter 164 Gu Shaojin fainted

Ming Jiayi put down her chopsticks, covered her hands, and replied with a wronged expression, "He has his own hands."

The three men at the table stared blankly at the two women.

Gu Shaojin was the first to react. He smiled and placed a whole hairy crab into Ming Jiayi's bowl.

"Yes, I can pick up the food myself. You should eat more."

Ming Jiayi glanced at her overflowing bowl, then smiled.

"You should eat more too, I'll feel bad if you get too thin." Ming Jiayi said while frantically piling food into Gu Shaojin's bowl. "Eat, eat, eat as much as you can, and if you can't finish it, pack it up and eat it slowly at home."

Gu Shaojin blocked her own bowl, then used her chopsticks to put a few more shrimp into Ming Jiayi's small plate.

"It's okay, just eat more. Look how thin you are. You must be exhausted from filming. It's my fault, I've been too busy and haven't taken good care of you."

Ming Jiayi glared at Gu Shaojin with a smile, threatening him to stop putting food on her plate.

Gu Shaojin smiled wickedly, asking teasingly, "What's wrong? Don't you like shrimp?"

Ming Jiayi gave a fake smile, then picked up the hairy crab and placed it on the plate. She then moved the plate in front of Gu Shaojin and said with an innocent and cute expression,

"No, I want you to peel the shell before I eat it."

Gu Shaojin's hand, which was holding a chopstick, froze for a moment.

That's outrageous.

Ming's father, mother, and Ming Fengche all burst into laughter.

Ming's parents were laughing because they thought it was sweet for the two children to be showing affection.

As for Ming Fengche, he knew that Ming Jiayi was teasing Gu Shaojin, and he found it particularly funny to see the two bickering lovers putting on such a show of acting.

Ming Jiayi blinked, somewhat bewildered and innocent. She stared intently at Gu Shaojin and asked, "What's wrong, darling? Don't you want to help me peel the shells?"

Gu Shaojin put down her chopsticks, rolled up her sleeves, and actually started peeling shrimp for Ming Jiayi.

Ming Jiayi stared blankly at Gu Shaojin's actions.

I don't know why, but I feel strange inside.

After peeling the shells, Gu Shaojin placed the small dish of wasabi in front of him onto the plate, then pushed it in front of Ming Jiayi.

"Eat up, don't you love eating with wasabi the most? Use plenty, and you can have all of mine too."

Ming Jiayi reached for the plate, then picked up a clean pair of chopsticks from the table, took a shrimp, dipped it heavily in the wasabi, and then presented the shrimp to Gu Shaojin.

"Here, you've worked hard peeling these shells for me, you can have one first."

"No need, you can eat it," Gu Shaojin said, feigning reluctance.

Ming's mother covered her mouth and chuckled secretly, "Xiao Yi, you child, don't you know how to be shy? Shao Jin, eat up, you two are such a loving couple."

Gu Shaojin gave a forced smile. Seeing Ming Jiayi smiling and shoving the shrimp towards his mouth again, he had no choice but to eat it.

The moment it entered her mouth, before she even had a chance to chew, Gu Shaojin choked violently.

His face flushed red from the stimulation, and he covered his mouth with his hand, coughing incessantly.

Perhaps because the wasabi was too pungent, the veins on his hands suddenly became very prominent, and cold sweat began to pour from his forehead.

Ming Jiayi's face, which had been smiling, instantly darkened.

Her heart skipped a beat, the joy of successfully teasing him turning into worry and fear.

She quickly darted behind Gu Shaojin and slapped the back of Gu Shaojin's head hard, saying, "Hurry up and throw up."

The next second, Gu Shaojin struggled to pick up the bowl and spat the shrimp back into it.

"Brother, could you please drive me to the hospital?"

Gu Shaojin's blushing and cold sweat did not stop after the shrimp was spat out.

Although Ming Fengche didn't know what had happened, he still quickly ran out to the garage to drive his car.

Ming Jiayi helped Gu Shaojin, who was coughing incessantly, to stand up from the chair, and then helped him slowly walk out.

Ming's parents, unaware of what was going on, followed Ming Jiayi outside.

"Jiayi, what happened to Shaojin?"

Ming Jiayi slowly turned her head to look at Gu Shaojin and asked, "Are you allergic to wasabi?"

Gu Shaojin's coughing continued incessantly, and tears slowly seeped from the corners of his eyes due to the violent coughing.

Within seconds, Gu Shaojin closed her eyes, and Ming Jiayi tightened her grip on her hand.

He fainted.

...

Ming Jiayi walked into the ward with the examination report and hospital admission slip in hand.

Gu Shaojin is still lying in bed and hasn't woken up yet.

The doctor gave him first aid and also checked for allergens.

It is indeed a wasabi allergy.

Upon hearing that Gu Shaojin had been hospitalized due to anaphylactic shock, the hospital director immediately rushed from home to the hospital and is currently sitting in the living room of Gu Shaojin's ward.

Seeing Ming Jiayi walk in from outside, he asked in a low voice, "How did it go? Have you found the allergen?"

Ming Jiayi nodded. "It's wasabi."

The hospital director sighed softly, "You're a great doctor, but a terrible girlfriend. You didn't even know your boyfriend was allergic to wasabi?"

Ming Jiayi went into the room and glanced at Gu Shaojin to make sure he was still asleep. Then she took the pile of papers and sat down on the sofa.

“Indeed, I am incompetent,” Ming Jiayi replied calmly.

When she went to the doctor to pick up the prescription, the doctor told her the same thing, but then said something that made her think...

"Sigh, but I can't blame you. He probably doesn't even know he's allergic. You can tell you really love him; you were running around so anxiously. I heard rumors online that you two are very much in love, and it seems to be true."

When Ming Jiayi first heard this, she found it a little funny.

She felt that her frantic running around was simply because she was a doctor and couldn't bear to see patients get hurt; anyone would have done the same.

But the more she thought about it, the more something seemed off.

She always felt something was wrong with her...

Something's off.

"So? Did you go to meet the parents today? To discuss marriage plans and get married?" the dean asked with a kind smile.

“Of course not,” Ming Jiayi retorted excitedly. “My parents miss Gu Shaojin and just want to see him.”

"I know I shouldn't be nosy. But look at you two, you're such a perfect match, haven't you thought about marriage yet?" the dean asked with a smile.

Ming Jiayi shook her head, somewhat disappointed.

Getting married?

She can't even continue playing this on-screen couple anymore.

This task is progressing so slowly; the second task is still not completed...

I don't know if that play will win any awards.

She was truly afraid to stay in this world any longer, fearing she would fall in love with the men of this world.

Wouldn't that be terrible?
