"Suhecheng Suhecheng!"
Su Heyi's assistant, wearing a mask and hat, stood on tiptoe in the crowd and shouted.
Inside the passageway, there was a young man wearing sunglasses. He was handsome but seemed a bit mischievous.
He pulled his sunglasses down halfway, glanced at his assistant with a playful look, and then pointed with his thumb to the luggage behind him, signaling the assistant to help him get it.
The assistant quickly ran over and pulled Su Hecheng's suitcase.
Su Hecheng sneered, then, without giving any thought to the little assistant dragging a suitcase, he strode quickly toward the exit.
The assistant, panting, jogged after Su Hecheng, only to see Su Hecheng hail a taxi and drive away as soon as they exited the airport.
He dragged his luggage miserably to where Su Heyi's car was parked, groaning in despair.
"He Yi, he ran away again as expected. I told you we didn't need to pick him up. He always does this. He really has the temper of a young master."
Su Heyi sat calmly in the back seat and casually replied.
“He ran away, but didn’t he return his luggage to you? Picking him up was just a formality; as long as we had something to give him, that was enough. Take me home.”
The assistant angrily got into the driver's seat. "That's true, but he was so rude! You risked being mobbed by fans to pick him up, and he just ran off like that?"
Su Heyi sighed softly and instructed his assistant.
"Alright, alright, don't say anything out of line once we're inside the Su family mansion."
"I know. I'm just standing up for you!" the assistant said indignantly while driving. "Mr. and Mrs. Su are both so kind, how could their son turn out like this?"
Su Heyi's face darkened, and the corners of his eyes and eyebrows drooped.
The assistant quickly realized he might have said something wrong, and he immediately tried to smooth things over.
"No, what I mean is that President Su and Mrs. Su have really spoiled Su Hecheng too much, to the point that Su Hecheng doesn't know any manners at all now."
Su Heyi sighed and rubbed his forehead in exasperation.
"Alright, if you keep talking, I'm going to throw you off the bus."
…
"Su Hecheng, when are you getting here? If you don't come soon, we're going to call it a day. Stop dawdling."
A man's urgent voice came from the other end of the phone, accompanied by the typical noisy din of a bar.
Sukhe gave a somewhat irrelevant reply.
"Dismissed my ass. You left my welcome party without even waiting for me. How dare you say that?"
"Alright, stop giving me that crap. Even if it were your wedding today, you'd be so late that the bride would have run off with us."
"You blame me for the plane being delayed? Get the bride ready, we're going straight to the wedding night." Su Hecheng smirked wickedly, already impatient.
Inside the private room of the Black Ze Royal Bar on Dongting Road
"cheers."
"Su Hecheng, did your unlucky brother pick you up again today?" a man in the private room asked Su Hecheng.
Su Hecheng downed the entire glass of wine in one gulp. "Cheers to me, or you're disrespecting me."
After he finished speaking, he turned to look at the person who had asked the question and replied in a teasing tone,
"Tsk, it's so fake. He only came to pick me up to explain to my parents, right? And ever since he became a celebrity, he's never picked me up in person again; he always sends his assistant."
Who do you think you are? Finding an assistant is a piece of cake for me. Why do I need him to send someone?
"Wasn't he waiting for you outside the airport?" the man retorted, somewhat puzzled. "Then why did you just run away again today?"
"Pretty much. I just threw my luggage at his little assistant," Su Hecheng replied casually. "So what if he waits for me outside the airport? He's a star now, and he thinks he's all that."
"You'd better take it easy. Your brother is really doing very well in the entertainment industry right now, and he has a big shot like Gu Shaojin backing him up. I'd estimate that his assets are no less than your dad's."
Su He looked at the man in disbelief. "Excuse me, are you kidding me? He's just a celebrity. How could his assets possibly exceed my dad's? Don't be ridiculous."
The other people in the private room also joined the group chat, drinking and having fun while casually chatting with Su Hecheng.
"You really don't understand the current situation in China. Even if your brother doesn't earn that much from acting, can't he find another way to make money?"
"Yeah, don't forget how good your brother's relationship is with Gu Shaojin. Your brother can learn about investing from Gu Shaojin. If he learns that, he'll be rich in no time, okay?"
"That's right. All of us combined don't even amount to a tenth of Gu Shaojin's wealth. You should be more careful."
Su Hecheng curled his lip in disdain.
"Alright, I know Gu Shaojin is capable, and his name can be seen everywhere abroad. But how can you be so sure that Gu Shaojin would bring Su Heyi along to do it?"
Besides, so be it. I'd love for Su Heyi to grow powerful and get out of the Su family as soon as possible.
Even if he wanted to leave, your parents wouldn't let him, right?
"Do you think your parents are as indifferent to Su Heyi as you are? After all, he's the child they raised."
Su Hecheng was a little annoyed. He slammed the cup down on the table.
"Aren't you all annoying with your constant chatter? I flew all day to come here for this gathering, just to listen to you talk about Su Heyi all night? What does it matter to me what he's like?"
"Isn't this because I'm afraid he'll steal all your family's assets without you even knowing it?"
"Okay, okay, I won't say anymore. Let's drink. We'll be moving on to another venue soon."
Su Hecheng suddenly stood up and kicked the table, "Damn it, you guys have ruined my mood."
Seeing Su Hecheng walk out the door, everyone looked at each other and shrugged speechlessly.
"He's really asking for trouble. We kindly reminded him, but he wouldn't listen. Well, let's just wait for our family fortune to be taken away. It's none of our business anyway."
"Which of us doesn't know that Su Heyi is Su Hecheng's Achilles' heel? Why are you all still talking about it? Aren't you just trying to make him unhappy?"
"Whatever. It's better that he's gone. It saves him from acting all high and mighty here, it's annoying to look at him like that."
"That's right, come on, let's keep playing."
…
Su Family Mansion
Su Heyi glanced at the time, then said to his parents with some heartache,
"Mom and Dad, it's getting late. You should get some rest. He Cheng will be back tonight, and you'll see him tomorrow."
"Sigh, it's been a year since we last saw each other. You know, the first thing this child does when he comes back to China is run off to play with his friends, he doesn't think about his parents at all," Su's mother said with a sigh.
