"Shao Jin, what are you doing? He Yi and He Cheng are both my children. Aren't you putting me in a difficult position?"
Su Heyi closed his eyes again. If Gu Shaojin, Ming Fengche, and Ming Jiayi had just warmed his heart for a short while...
Now, Su's mother has frozen his heart again with the refrigerator.
Ming Jiayi smiled gently, "No, Auntie. Shao Jin just doesn't want to see Su Heyi get hurt. After all, they grew up together and they're like brothers."
“Yes,” Ming Fengche replied, “If He Yi doesn’t want to go to Shao Jin’s house, I’m happy to have him come to my house anytime. My parents really like He Yi.”
Ming Jiayi laughed and joked, "Yes, Su Heyi's acting is so good, we can even practice our acting together at home. That would be wonderful."
Ming Fengche nodded in agreement, "Okay. He Yi, come stay at my house."
Gu Shaojin stared intently at Ming Jiayi and Ming Fengche, and he was particularly jealous of Ming Jiayi.
He asked in a low voice,
"What's so wonderful about it? Is my Gu family manor not big enough for Su Heyi?"
Su Heyi couldn't help but chuckle.
Gu Shaojin's jealousy is way too strong.
Ming Jiayi frowned and couldn't help but retort.
“Well, there are more people in my family, right? My brother and I are the same age, and we can both talk to him. Let’s not even talk about how you’re all alone in your family, and you don’t like to talk. Su Heyi would be so bored if he went there.”
Gu Shaojin was somewhat dissatisfied.
Is Ming Jiayi determined to have Su Heyi stay at the Ming family home?
"I'm all alone in my family, how pitiful am I?" Gu Shaojin said in a deep and somber voice.
Ming Fengche and Su Heyi were shocked for a second or two, followed by unrestrained laughter.
Ming Jiayi scratched her head.
These are words that Gu Shaojin would never say.
It doesn't quite fit his domineering CEO persona.
"How about this? Why don't you have the housekeeper vacate three rooms, and the three of us can all stay at the Gu family's house?" Ming Fengche joked.
A hint of a smile flashed in Gu Shaojin's eyes, and she readily replied, "Okay."
As if afraid that Ming Fengche might change his mind at any moment, Gu Shaojin picked up her phone and called the butler of the Gu family manor directly.
"Uncle Zheng, could you please help me vacate the remaining three rooms on the second floor of my building?"
"Young master, are you bringing people back to stay?" asked the man called Uncle Zheng.
"Yes, I'll go back tonight," Gu Shaojin said confidently into the phone.
Ming Fengche and Ming Jiayi stood there dumbfounded.
Ming Fengche turned to look at Ming Jiayi and slowly asked, "You should be able to tell that I was joking just now, right?"
Ming Jiayi nodded. "I can tell."
Gu Shaojin hung up the phone calmly, then shrugged and asked in a leisurely tone,
"I've already asked Uncle Zheng to tidy it up, are you going to stand me up?"
Su Heyi smiled, seemingly recalling his childhood...
Gu Shaojin has always been a quiet person who prefers to be alone.
But that doesn't mean he's cold-hearted, nor does it mean he's indifferent to losing friends.
He has his own unique way of expressing his emotions.
Do you remember the day when Gu's father brought Su Ying to the Gu family to take Su Heyi away? Gu Shaojin inexplicably took Su Heyi to a small cave in the back garden and threatened Su Heyi not to speak or cry.
Su Heyi was still young at the time and did not know that Gu Shaojin was reluctant to part with him, nor did she know that Gu Shaojin was trying to keep him in her own way.
He thought Gu Shaojin was just trying to teach him a lesson before he left, so he didn't argue and just obediently did as she said.
After all, he was really reluctant to part with Gu Shaojin and leave the Gu family...
He was locked in the storeroom for a very long time and had no idea what was happening outside.
It was much later that Su Ying told him.
...
"Sir, Young Master He Yi is missing..." Uncle Zheng said anxiously to Mr. Gu.
Su Ying stood to the side, her brows furrowed with worry.
Mr. Gu's expression was rather grim. He looked at Uncle Zheng and asked, "How could it be missing? Have you searched the entire manor?"
"We've searched, but we haven't found Young Master He Yi."
Mr. Gu glanced around the large living room and calmly asked, "Where is Shao Jin? Did Shao Jin take He Yi out?"
Uncle Zheng shook his head. "The young master has been doing his homework in his room the whole time. I haven't seen him come out."
"Old Su, sit here for a while. I'll go with them to find He Yi," said Gu's father.
“No, I’ll go with you to look for it,” Su Ying said seriously.
Seeing that Su Ying also looked anxious, Gu's father asked Uncle Zheng to take Su Ying to look elsewhere, while Gu's father went to Gu Shaojin's room...
"Shao Jin." Standing at the door of Gu Shao Jin's room, Gu's father looked at her angrily and asked, "Did you hide He Yi?"
Gu Shaojin looked at her father innocently, "Wasn't He Yi going to the Su family today? Why would I hide him?"
Gu's father stared at Gu Shaojin, trying to make her feel guilty, but Gu Shaojin wasn't buying it at all.
He tilted his head, looked at Gu's father, and asked matter-of-factly, "What good does it do to look at me?"
Mr. Gu squatted down and spoke earnestly and patiently to Gu Shaojin.
"You can't do this, you know? Dad has already talked to Uncle Su. It's definitely better for He Yi to live at Uncle Su's house than to stay with us, do you understand?"
Gu Shaojin nodded seriously, "I know, didn't we already agree on that?"
"Then bring He Yi out. What's the point of hiding him?" Father Gu said patiently.
Gu Shaojin looked at his father with an innocent and puzzled expression. Even at such a young age, he had already brought his acting skills to the extreme.
"Dad, I really didn't."
Mr. Gu looked at Gu Shaojin with a skeptical expression, and asked one last time, "Really not?"
Gu Shaojin nodded calmly.
“Okay, then Dad will go find He Yi. I hope you won’t lie to me,” Mr. Gu said earnestly.
Young Gu Shaojin remained remarkably calm. He returned to his desk and continued diligently writing his homework.
He knew that his actions wouldn't keep Su Heyi, but he was just unhappy and wanted to stay for as long as possible.
About three hours later, when Gu Shaojin was delivering food to Su Heyi, Gu's father followed Gu Shaojin and found Su Heyi.
Immediately afterwards, Su Ying took Su Heyi away, while Gu Shaojin was also punished by her father by being made to stand for three hours.
Gu Shaojin didn't complain at all, nor did he say a word to persuade him to stay, but his actions had already made his father understand his thoughts.
This also led to Su Heyi, who grew up, having complete trust in Gu Shaojin.
