Chapter 185 Dance Practice

Gu Shaojin's Rolls-Royce stopped in front of the Joyful Entertainment Building. Ming Jiayi quickly pressed the button to unbuckle her seatbelt, grabbed her bag, and swiftly slipped out of the car.

"Thank you, I'll be going now~"

Gu Shaojin was about to say "You're welcome" when Ming Jiayi suddenly closed the car door and disappeared.

Ming Jiayi quickly walked through the crowd, and the people working overtime at the company all greeted her politely.

Ming Jiayi quickly changed her clothes and went to the dance studio, where the artists who were going to perform on stage had already been practicing all day.

"Sister Jiayi, you're here."

"Oh my god, Jiayi is finally here! My savior!"

"Sister Jiayi, we're working so hard to learn this! We haven't even mastered a third of it yet! Help!"

"Yeah, Jiayi, the four of us are going crazy."

Ming Jiayi smiled at the four of them, then said gently, "Sorry to keep you waiting. Where are you in your practice?"

Jian Qing was among the four, and he was the most perceptive of them all. He replied, "I've reached the one-minute mark."

"I'm a bit slower than him; I've only reached 30 seconds..."

Ming Jiayi nodded and quickly walked towards their computers.

They've slowed down the video and are refining it move by move.

Ming Jiayi had already memorized all those movements. She then looked at the projector to reinforce her memory and slowly began to learn them.

That skill was indeed useful.

Ming Jiayi felt that she picked it up very quickly, and her condition was completely different from that in the afternoon.

"Come on, let's practice together and try to learn it before 3 a.m., then go back to sleep and come back tomorrow to reinforce our memory and master it."

“Okay!” the four people replied energetically.

The rousing music filled the dance studio, and the dance moves on the projector looked particularly powerful and exciting. The five dancers were constantly sweating in the studio.

Ming Jiayi quickly caught up with Jian Qing's pace and even surpassed him.

Although she was the only girl among the five, her dancing power was in no way inferior to the other four.

The dance moves weren't exactly graceful, but they were absolutely breathtaking and made people blush.

"Sister Jiayi, can we take a break for a while..." the team member asked somewhat plaintively.

Ming Jiayi glanced back at them and noticed that their clothes were soaked through and their lips were slightly chapped.

“Okay, let’s rest for half an hour,” Ming Jiayi said.

The group was so exhausted that they collapsed onto the floor the moment Ming Jiayi said those words.

Ming Jiayi took a few steps forward, then paused the dance video that was playing. She squatted down, picked up five bottles of water, and handed them to the four people one by one.

She took her phone and water and found a small corner to sit down, unlike the other four who were exhausted.

One of the team members struggled to sit up, took a sip of water, and said wearily,

"Jiayi, your ability to learn dance is really amazing. You joined so much later than us, but you're the fastest learner. I'm so envious."

If we were to rank them according to this dance lesson, then Ming Jiayi would be first, Jian Qing second, and the person who spoke would be last.

Ming Jiayi chuckled and shook her head.

"There's nothing to envy. I started memorizing the movements this afternoon too. Keep it up, let's develop muscle memory quickly, and then we'll go back and rest."

Jian Qing was slightly stunned for a moment, but immediately sprang up from the ground.

"Oh? By the way, Jiayi, didn't President Lin say you were at the hospital this afternoon? Are you feeling unwell or injured?"

Ming Jiayi raised an eyebrow and replied seriously, "No, a friend of mine had a little accident, and I went to see him."

"Hey friend, are you in the industry?" the group asked, sounding a bit gossipy.

Ming Jiayi shook her head, without answering yes or no.

Suheyi probably doesn't want this matter to get out to other people, right?

After all, this involves his family and his privacy.

"How is he? Is he feeling better?" Jian Qing asked politely.

Ming Jiayi smiled and raised the corners of her mouth. "Mm."

Ming Jiayi's phone vibrated. She looked down and saw that it was a message from Ming Fengche.

—Ming Fengche: Jiayi, don't forget to stay at the Gu family's house tonight. Shaojin has already asked Uncle Zheng to clean it up, so we should at least give him face.

Ming Jiayi was silent for a moment, then quickly typed a string of words in the chat box.

—Ming Jiayi: I'll probably stay at the company tonight. Gu Shaojin isn't going home tonight either, is he? We'll talk about it later.

—Ming Fengche: Okay, then you should get some rest and not practice dancing too late.

Ming Jiayi turned off her phone, stood up, and clapped her hands. "How are things? Have you all rested well?"

The group of people who had been chatting idly suddenly lay down on the ground again, and they replied mournfully, "Ah... it hasn't even been half an hour yet."

Ming Jiayi pursed her lips and offered her suggestion.

"We've already practiced up to the 2.5-minute mark, and we're just one minute away from finishing it. Can we hurry up and finish it so we can go back and rest?"

Jian Qing quickly stood up; he agreed with Ming Jiayi's statement.

Instead of wasting time here, I'd rather finish this quickly and go back to sleep.

The bed must be more comfortable than this hard floor.

"And you?" Ming Jiayi asked, looking at the three people on the ground.

The three of them reluctantly dusted off their clothes and stood up.

Actually, they didn't really want to continue training, but they had no choice. Their progress was already slower than Ming Jiayi and Jian Qing's, and if they didn't follow their arrangements, they might be eliminated.

"Okay, let's go." Ming Jiayi said as she walked towards the computer.

The five of them quickly moved on to the Nth round of practice.

Around 2 a.m., everyone had finished learning the detailed movements, and their bodies had generally memorized the dance moves.

Ming Jiayi led them through the dance three times in total, making sure that she and they had all learned it, before calling a stop.

"Okay, that was pretty fast," Ming Jiayi said to them. "Then let's all go back and rest now, and then meet here at around 9 o'clock tomorrow morning, okay?"

"Okay. I'm so tired, I feel like my body is being hollowed out."

"Yes, it's too difficult to learn and master a dance in just two days. Baiyun Tiandi is simply torturing us."

The four of them complained while wiping their sweat with towels.

The air conditioner in the room is only 20°C, it's practically useless...

This is so painful.

"Are your solo performances ready?" Ming Jiayi couldn't help but ask them with some concern.
