Xie Leying looked at Ming Fengche innocently and replied in a sweet, coquettish tone,
"Who are you? Why are you saying that to me... I never saw you when I came to the Gu family home as a child..."
Ming Fengche shuddered. He had originally wanted to say a few words in support of his sister, but the woman's voice gave him goosebumps, so he decided to slip away.
Just then, Uncle Zheng, the head butler of the Gu family, walked in from the doorway carrying a fruit platter.
He placed the fruit plate on the table and then turned to leave.
Ming Fengche stopped him and asked politely, "Uncle Zheng, who is this woman? She just claimed that she used to sleep with Gu Shaojin when they were little, but I've never seen her before."
Uncle Zheng bowed slightly and answered politely.
"Young Master Feng Che, Miss Le Ying did indeed sleep with you when she was a child."
But that was when the two were just a few months old. The gentleman and Miss Leying's father put them in the same cradle so they could play chess.
As far as I know, the young master liked to be alone when he was a child, so when Miss Yueying stayed next to him for more than half a minute, he started to stretch out his arms and legs and kick her.
Before the young master could even kick her a few times, Miss Leying started wailing and was immediately picked up by the nanny.
Ming Jiayi finally reacted, and she smiled softly while covering her mouth.
Gu Shaojin has really been domineering since she was a child.
Ming Fengche curled his lips in a mocking smile, "So that's how it is. I thought it was something else entirely."
Xie Leying's face turned somewhat pale. She looked at Uncle Zheng and said in a coquettish voice,
"Uncle Zheng, are you getting old and misremembering? That's not what my dad told me. Oh, by the way, Uncle Zheng, where is my room?"
Uncle Gu said he wanted me to stay at his house for a while. Did he mention that when you called just now?
Uncle Zheng nodded modestly and politely, confirming that it was indeed true.
However, he had not yet instructed his subordinates to prepare a room.
He knew that Gu Shaojin would be bringing his girlfriend home today, so he had to ask Gu Shaojin's opinion first.
Although Gu Shaojin's father holds a higher position in the family, he is not currently here, so Uncle Zheng must follow Gu Shaojin's wishes.
Just as Gu Shaojin was about to kick Xie Leying out, his phone rang.
It was a call from his father.
Gu Shaojin opened the French windows and went to the balcony to answer her father's call.
"Shao Jin, have you seen Le Ying?" Gu's father asked in a somewhat somber tone.
Gu Shaojin gave a faint "hmm".
"I told you before, could you help Le Ying with her onboarding? Also, your Uncle Xie and Aunt Xie are still abroad, and Le Ying went back alone, so you need to take good care of her."
I think you should prepare a room for her at home and let her stay there for a while.
Leying has helped me a lot abroad these past few years. One should be grateful; please make sure this is taken care of for me.
After listening to her father's rambling, Gu Shaojin calmly replied into the phone.
"Dad, I brought my girlfriend home to stay, so it's not appropriate for this person to stay at our house."
Mr. Gu stared in shock, his mouth agape. He looked at the person in the wheelchair beside him, and after a long pause, he finally answered Gu Shaojin.
"When did you start dating? Why didn't you tell me? Who is she?"
Gu Shaojin stared straight ahead, and replied calmly, "Haven't I told you already?"
Mr. Gu smiled helplessly. "Alright. So, who is that girl?"
Gu Shaojin turned around and glanced at Ming Jiayi sitting on the sofa in the room. He raised the corners of his mouth and smiled wickedly, "Ming Jiayi."
Upon hearing the name, Mr. Gu was even more shocked. He asked a series of questions into his phone.
"Ming Jiayi? Is she Yi Ran's daughter? The little girl who came to our house to play when we were little, and then searched all over the manor for you and insisted on having a competition with you?"
Gu Shaojin could no longer hide the smile in his eyes, and he replied in a deep voice, "Yes, it's her."
"Sure, you're a natural son. I remember that little girl was fair-skinned and had two little ponytails. She was very stubborn and would do anything to find you."
And your match back then almost ended in a draw, right? This little girl is very clever.
Ming Jiayi sat on the sofa and yawned leisurely.
She was so sleepy.
If she had known she wouldn't be able to fall asleep as soon as she arrived at the Gu family home, she wouldn't have come.
Xie Leying stood aside, openly observing Ming Jiayi. How could a woman be so lazy that she went to sit on the sofa after only standing for a short while?
And it's not even confirmed that this is her room yet, how shameless of her.
Gu Shaojin hung up the phone and slowly walked out from the balcony. When he saw Ming Jiayi yawning, he frowned.
He walked up to Ming Jiayi, then led her to open the large wardrobe next to him.
"These clothes are all prepared for you. Go to sleep after you take a shower."
Ming Jiayi nodded frantically, "Okay, okay."
A hint of disdain flashed in Xie Leying's eyes...
The two nannies standing outside the door went into the room to help Ming Jiayi pack her things, and the rest of the people went downstairs.
Uncle Zheng followed behind Gu Shaojin and quietly asked for her opinion.
Gu Shaojin answered without any hesitation.
“My father just called me and suggested that Miss Xie stay in a hotel, and that the Gu family pay for it. I think this is a good suggestion. Please ask Uncle Zheng to make the arrangements.”
Xie Leying looked at Gu Shaojin in confusion, "Huh? Shaojin, are you really that unwelcoming to me?"
Gu Shaojin ignored Xie Leying and sat down on the sofa with Ming Fengche, starting to discuss work as if no one else was around.
Seeing this, Uncle Zheng walked up to Xie Leying and gestured for her to enter.
Xie Leying was reluctant to leave. She looked back at Gu Shaojin every three steps, hoping that Gu Shaojin would persuade her to stay.
Uncle Zheng sent someone to take Xie Leying to the VITE Hotel and arranged a presidential suite for her, doing everything he could to make her happy.
Xie Leying looked grateful throughout, with a smile on her face and her eyes crinkling with joy.
But after smilingly seeing off the Gu family, Xie Leying sat on the bed and started making a phone call, clearly dissatisfied.
"Mom, didn't Uncle Gu say I could stay at the Gu family's house? But now they've sent me to a hotel, and they even booked some lousy presidential suite. Who wants to stay here?"
"Huh? How could that be? Did you relay Uncle Gu's message to them?"
"I relayed... Shao Jin said that Uncle Gu suggested that I stay in a hotel, and they would pay for the room."
"Really? That's outrageous. I'll have your dad call and ask."
"Okay!" Xie Leying replied confidently.
