Chapter 252 Able to Attack or Retreat

"Then why didn't you expose her yesterday?" Bi Tingran asked, completely bewildered.

“Because there’s no need,” Yu Jianyan replied seriously. “Besides, Jia… the Divine Doctor doesn’t want to reveal her identity either. If we expose Le Ying, wouldn’t that be the same as revealing the Divine Doctor’s identity?”

"Can you stop calling me Le Ying all the time? Anyone who didn't know better would think you two were really close," Bi Tingran said sourly. Then, she frowned and asked, "So you really did know who the miracle doctor was all along?"

“Isn’t it right in front of you? This is it,” Yu Jianyan replied matter-of-factly.

Bi Tingran paused for a moment. She felt that the figure looked familiar, but... she just couldn't quite place it.

The operating room door was opened again from the outside, and the doctors and nurses who were involved in the surgery all came in.

Yu Jianyan looked at those people, then struggled to find Xie Leying among them. He walked to Xie Leying's side and said,

"Xie Leying, we just discussed it, and we think we can do the suturing. Why don't you go back and rest? You've had a long day."

Xie Leying's eyes looked somewhat aggrieved, and she said softly, "But I'm really looking forward to this surgery... It's the first surgery I've participated in since I came here..."

"There will be plenty of opportunities in the future. Like us now, we have at least 7 surgeries a week, standing for several hours at a time, which is quite painful."

Yu Jianyan said with a distressed expression, he really didn't understand why Xie Leying, who wasn't an intern, was so eager to go to the operating table.

“But…” Xie Leying lowered her head, as if tears were about to fall at any moment, “Wasn’t this surgery performed by a miracle doctor? I would like to stay and observe.”

"Oh, so now you realize you're not a miracle doctor?" Bi Tingran retorted sarcastically.

"Huh?" Xie Leying looked even more aggrieved. "Sister Ran, you've misunderstood. I admitted yesterday that I was a miracle doctor because I wanted to help Jiayi. I knew she didn't want her identity to be exposed, so I acted as a shield..."

Ming Jiayi smiled coldly, thinking, "This is truly a case of being able to attack or defend at will. This hand of cards is played exceptionally well."

"Jiayi... what does that mean?" Bi Tingran turned her head, looking at Xie Leying with some confusion. "Could this miracle doctor be Ming Jiayi?"

Xie Leying visibly stiffened for a moment.

They didn't know about this?

“Yes,” Ming Jiayi replied calmly. “Xie Leying, I’ll help you with the final suturing. You’ve had a long day, you can go home and rest. If you’d like to watch me perform the surgery…”

When Ming Jiayi finished speaking, she smiled knowingly and said, "There are 360-degree cameras in this operating room. You can go to the monitoring room to see them."

Xie Leying glanced at Ming Jiayi, and saw a fleeting hint of fear flash across her eyes, but she quickly suppressed it and said in a pitiful voice,

"Alright then... since the surgeon has spoken, I'll be going now."

After saying that, Xie Leying walked to the edge of the door. She sensed the infrared light and smiled triumphantly when the operating room door opened.

There are cameras? That's perfect!

Ming Jiayi frowned, feeling that something was wrong, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

The surgery preparations began. The anesthesiologist stood beside Wan Yu'an and asked gently,

"Little sister, are you ready? If you are, Auntie will give you the injection. After the injection, you will take a nap and the surgery will be over. Then you can go back to live streaming."

Wan Yu'an's eyes shone with light. She smiled gently and replied.

"Okay, thank you everyone. I'm ready."

"Okay." The anesthesiologist nodded and then injected Wan Yu'an's hand. Within 30 seconds, Wan Yu'an fell into a deep sleep.

Ming Jiayi's hands were as steady as ever. She was fully focused throughout the entire surgical procedure, carefully completing each step that was her responsibility.

Soon, the surgery reached the suturing stage, and Ming Jiayi recalled Xie Leying's back view just now.

She left so decisively, could it be that I really misunderstood her?

After all, doctors are compassionate; how could they possibly do something so harmful? Besides, this patient is only 17 years old...

Ming Jiayi took the suture needle and thread from the nurse and immediately began to suture.

She touched the thread, and just as she was about to touch it, she suddenly felt an itch above her nose. She subconsciously pressed her hand lightly against the mask.

Suddenly, she smelled a very strong odor...

Ming Jiayi raised an eyebrow, sensing something was amiss. She pressed her hand above the mask and, sure enough, it smelled like her hand.

Ming Jiayi turned around and glanced at all the remaining stitches on the tool cart. She grabbed them and placed them in front of her mask.

Immediately afterwards, an indescribable stench spread to her nose.

Ming Jiayi frowned and looked coldly at the nurse in front of her, asking,

"Where did these tools come from? Who touched them?"

The nurse was a little confused. "What's wrong? Is there a problem?"

Ming Jiayi took off her gloves and wrapped the threads up. She frowned and answered solemnly.

"These sutures have been soaked in hydrosulfuric acid. If they had been used for suturing just now, Percent's life would probably be in danger."

"Let's get this dealt with quickly. We've all inhaled this smell, and we don't know what the long-term effects might be. After the surgery, everyone will stay in the hospital for observation."

All the doctors and nurses at the scene were stunned, and a sense of fear spread among them.

The nurse in charge of managing the equipment looked incredulous. She picked up the glove, opened it, and smelled it.

The next second, she threw the lump of something back onto the cart in horror, looking anxiously and fearfully at Ming Jiayi and the other doctors.

"How could that be? These threads are all newly taken out by me, how could they have been soaked in hydrosulfuric acid? It's not me, it's not my fault, it has nothing to do with me."

Ming Jiayi glanced at Wan Yu'an, whose chest was still exposed, and calmly said,

“I didn’t say it was you. Tingran, go out now to disinfect your hands, and then bring back new sutures and needles. The most important thing right now is to finish the surgery as soon as possible.”

Bi Tingran nodded and quickly walked out of the operating room.

Ming Jiayi looked at Wan Yu'an with some concern, then she looked down at her own hands.

She now has to go out and be disinfected again before she can come back to have the stitches done.

But what if Xie Leying's accomplices are still in the operating room, and they take advantage of her absence to make their move...?
