Chapter Ninety-Four: A Despicable Thing

"So that means there's something wrong with the information my father received?" Ming Jiayi asked thoughtfully.

"I think so. The Gu family has never cooperated with the Bai family before, I can guarantee that," Gu Shaojin said confidently.

"Alright, Mr. Gu, I'll be going now." Ming Jiayi said, then walked out, muttering to herself, "Go find Bai Li and try to get some information out of him..."

"Wait a minute." Gu Shaojin called out to Ming Jiayi, "Why do you suddenly want to investigate this project?"

"This is the direct cause of the Ming family's decline. I only found out now, so I'm investigating. Is there a problem?"

“No problem. I’ll just call Bai Li over for you.” Gu Shaojin raised an eyebrow and said seriously.

Um?

Ming Jiayi looked at Gu Shaojin with a completely bewildered expression. "What are you plotting?"

No. It was just out of kindness.

"……oh"

About forty minutes later, Gu Shaojin, Ming Jiayi, Su Heyi, and Bai Li sat together in Gu Shaojin's office.

Everyone looked at each other.

Ming Jiayi scratched her head awkwardly, wondering how she could ask with so many people around.

Asking would expose us, wouldn't it?

"Jiayi, what a coincidence, you're here too." Bai Li spoke first, breaking the awkward atmosphere.

Ming Jiayi quickly replied, "Yes."

Su Heyi chuckled to himself.

It would be better not to say anything at all.

The atmosphere became increasingly awkward.

"Xiao Gu, let's go outside and talk," Su Heyi said, blinking frantically at Gu Shaojin.

Although he didn't find Ming Jiayi appealing, he thought it would be a good thing if Ming Jiayi and Bai Li could spread any gossip.

Gu Shaojin sat firmly in his seat, raising an eyebrow coldly as he asked, "Why should I go out?"

"Have you forgotten what I just told you? Help me." Su Heyi stood up and grabbed Gu Shaojin.

Gu Shaojin stood up impatiently, then walked to the French windows and made a phone call.

Su Heyi stood casually next to Gu Shaojin, his hands in his pockets, glancing at Ming Jiayi and Bai Li from time to time.

"Hey bro, what's up?" Gu Shaonan said casually on the other end of the phone.

"Let's keep a low profile in the entertainment industry," Gu Shaojin said calmly.

"Brother, did Su Heyi complain to you? That bastard, he won't even tell me to my face. What's the point of being two-faced?" Gu Shaonan angrily cursed.

"Watch your mouth."

Gu Shaojin's voice was icy, which made Gu Shaonan feel scared, and his voice unconsciously lowered.

"No, bro, do you know what he said to me at first? He said he would mentor me and that I could ask him for help anytime I wanted."

"You said yourself that you wanted to ask for advice?"

"He can't just go and complain to you, can he? He's a lowlife."

Su Heyi, who was listening nearby, turned pale and then red. Luckily, Ming Jiayi and Bai Li couldn't hear it, otherwise he really wanted to tear Gu Shaonan apart.

That foul-mouthed guy.

Even if you want to ride the wave of popularity and create hype, there should be limits, right? He was straight, but Gu Shaonan turned him into a gay man. How can Gu Shaonan still have a legitimate reason to do that?

Speechless.

Gu Shaonan wanted to ride this wave of popularity to become famous and attract girls, but he didn't really want to.

"Shut up. If you keep stirring up trouble, you're going home." Gu Shaojin warned coldly.

Su Heyi turned his head and glanced at Gu Shaojin.

It really took his intervention...
