cage

cage

"It's so cold." Guan Zheng curled up her limbs, closed her eyes and shivered.

There was not even the sound of wind around, only the constant murmur of Guan Zheng.

The cold air continued to gather around her. She was the only source of heat here...and it wasn't that hot now.

"Click" there was a sound of a door being opened, "click" "click" something was put down, after a burst of noise, it soon fell into silence again.

Now she wasn't the only source of heat.

"Gurgle, gurgle." Although the person was still unconscious, his nose had already smelled the smell of food, and his stomach made sounds in time.

Guan Zheng was woken up by hunger.

She hadn't eaten or drunk anything since she was kidnapped. She didn't know how much time had passed, but she just felt her stomach was empty.

The moment she opened her eyes, she thought she was blind. It was very dark around her, but when she looked carefully, she could see a faint light on the distant wall, perhaps a torch.

Guan Zheng got up from the ground, and with every step she took, she felt that the world was shaking.

She staggered forward, her hands grasping what looked like pillars, one after another, groping her way along, only to find herself going around in a circle and back to the starting point.

Here, is a cage!!

She was trapped in a cage that fell in mid-air!!

There was a lock on the cage, and the thick iron chain was wrapped around and around. Guan Zheng held the lock and pulled hard. Suddenly, she heard a sound not far away. She was so scared that she stopped moving and stood still, holding her breath.

Being in darkness, one's sense of smell and hearing become extra sensitive.

Guan Zheng squatted down and listened carefully. The sound was like the sound of a cage shaking. Could there be someone else imprisoned here? In addition, there was a faint sound of water, which was so light that Guan Zheng almost didn't hear it.

A "gurgling" sound rang out at an inopportune moment. Guan Zheng quickly covered her stomach with both hands, and the darkness covered her embarrassment.

"Forget it, let's eat something first. Where did you go? I remember it was over here." Guan Zheng knelt on the ground and groped forward slowly. Suddenly, she touched a bowl.

Guan Zheng pinched the contents in her hand, and the elastic touch was that of a steamed bun.

She first put it to her nose and sniffed it before opening her mouth and taking a bite. The other bowl was filled with water, but unfortunately, most of the water in the bowl had spilled out because of her walking just now.

Guan Zheng ate the steamed bun with water. As she ate, she missed the corn she had eaten the day before. In comparison, the corn was really sweet. The more Guan Zheng ate, the more she wanted to cry. Tears rolled down her face, but she didn't make a sound. She just stuffed the steamed bun into her mouth. Although she was trapped here now, she would not have the strength to escape if she didn't eat enough.

After eating, she moved to the side of the lock. She knelt on the ground with her line of sight at the lock, and her fingers dug into the keyhole... Suddenly she reached up to her head and took off all the hair accessories on her head.

The white jade hairpin was easy to break, so she was the first to eliminate it.

She found another butterfly hairpin, which might be worth a try. Guan Zheng inserted it into the keyhole. As she turned her wrist, the butterfly trembled as if it was about to fly away.

Every turn was done with caution. She knelt in the cage and put her ear to it. The only sound around her was her breathing.

"Guan Zheng, you can do it." She secretly encouraged herself in her heart and kept probing inside with the hairpin.

"Click"

"It's open, great!" Guan Zheng quickly untied the chain and pulled the door open, but she didn't take a step out.

"I don't know how high this place is from the ground. I might break my legs if I jump down like this..." Guan Zheng swallowed, picked out the heaviest hair accessory and threw it down.

Guan Zheng heard the sound of the hairpin breaking into two pieces, and she gave a bitter smile, a little too loud.

But there are always more ways than problems. She untied her clothes and cut them open with the sharpest hair accessories, even using her teeth.

One end was fixed on the cage, but she was worried, so she tied two buckles and tied knots in the middle to make it easier for her to slide down.

After doing all this, Guan Zheng put away the hair accessories she had taken off before, maybe she could use them in the future. As for the butterfly hairpin, she left it far away, but fortunately she had another one, so they were originally a pair.

Guan Zheng took a deep breath and jumped down without hesitation. As her body swayed, the cage made a loud noise. Guan Zheng tried hard to keep her body steady, fearing that the noise would attract something.

Her heart was about to jump out of her chest with nervousness. This action was a test of arm strength. Guan Zheng felt that her arm was about to break. She desperately grabbed the "rope" she made and slowly slid down inch by inch.

"Mom." She still couldn't help crying, but fear took over and she didn't dare to stop moving her hands for a moment.

Guan Zheng bit her lower lip tightly, not daring to be distracted any longer. If she didn't grab it, she would definitely break her legs if she fell. Unfortunately, this "rope" was not enough to support her to the ground. When Guan Zheng touched the last knot, her heart sank to the bottom. She was still some distance from the ground.

But if she were allowed to climb up again, she would be better off dead.

Guan Zheng didn't hesitate for long. She mustered up her courage and jumped down. "Bang", she landed on the ground. Her leg was not broken, but it hurt a lot. The wound must have burst open.

Suddenly, her facial features were twisted together, and tears were forced out, but she had no time, she needed to escape quickly. The noise she had just made was quite loud, and might have attracted attention.

Guan Zheng endured the pain in her legs and limped towards the light.

Guan Zheng pressed the wall and felt her way across, but there was no door at all!

Could it be that...the door is in mid-air?

Guan Zheng took two steps back, but accidentally stepped on a mechanism and her foot sank into the water.

The sound of flowing water is more obvious. There is an underground river here...great.

Guan Zheng followed the sound of water and found that it was indeed an underground river.

The river was just too fast, and she wondered if she could hold on... But she didn't have time to think. She heard someone coming, maybe a ghost...

Guan Zheng leaped in and disappeared in an instant with a splash.

The moment she jumped into the water, she clutched the peace bag in front of her chest, praying desperately to survive, and let the rushing river take her away.

The river water was icy cold. Guan Zheng held her breath and swam desperately. She was not good at swimming, but God was kind to her.

Guan Zheng climbed up from the water by climbing up the rocks. Water flowed down from her head in streams. Guan Zheng climbed up with all her strength, lay on the ground and gasped for breath, almost suffocating to death.

She recalled the day she first met Yan Chan, when she was also drenched in water. However, she felt even more miserable today. The wound on her leg was more painful, and her eyelids were getting heavier. She was so sleepy...

Guan Zheng slowly closed her eyes, but the blessing bag in her hand was washed along the underground river to an unknown place.

......

"Click" is the sound of the door being pushed open.

Even when the door was open, no light came in, as if the place was built underground.

The expected footsteps did not sound. Perhaps, one could say that his walking made no sound at all...

The black robe wrapped his entire body tightly, leaving only a pair of black and purple hands exposed. He floated in the air with his feet off the ground.

The hood covered his face, but his eyes quickly locked onto the cage where Guan Zheng had once been imprisoned.

He flew over, and his dark purple hand pulled the lock with the butterfly hairpin, and the butterfly on it was still trembling.

There was a cloth strip tied to the cage, and the man in black fell down along the cloth strip. At this moment, his feet touched the ground.

Bending down to pick up the white jade hairpin that was broken into two pieces on the ground, he noticed that the mechanism had been triggered by mistake and it must have escaped along the river, but he did not continue to chase it.

After all, he was only responsible for catching her, and the rest of the matter was not his responsibility, nor did he want to take care of it.

You are a smart man, I hope you don’t drown in this dark river.

He checked the remaining cages before leaving.
