Can I call you Yanchan?
"What are you holding? Let me see it." Shi Guiyi asked curiously when he saw the silvery-white glowing thing in Wu Chunlai's hand.
"Oh, this you are talking about. It fell from the man in black. I don't think it is a very important thing, otherwise he wouldn't carry it with him." Wu Chunlai turned the key around and handed it to her casually.
After all, everyone would think that important things would be hidden in a secret place for safekeeping.
Guan Zheng was staring at the handkerchief in a daze. She didn't know when Yan Chan stood behind her. They were so close that her breathing slowed down for a moment.
Guan Zheng shook her body slightly, and the tassels on her head swayed with it. The dead leaves under her feet rustled a few times. She saw her reflection clearly in Yan Chan's eyes, as if she was the only one in her eyes. Guan Zheng became a little flustered, but her expression did not show. She just lowered her head and stopped looking at Yan Chan.
Yan Chan behind her chuckled, blinked and stared at the slightly red tip of her ear.
Quite cute.
"This key is exquisitely made. Look at it, it's silver-white all over, and the hollow handle is obviously carefully polished. It's an extremely complicated craft." Shi Guiyi raised the key above his head and pointed it at the sky. It emitted a halo under the sunlight.
"This might be a real treasure," she murmured.
Wu Chunlai nodded secretly on the side.
Yan Chan snatched the key from Shi Guiyi's hand and raised an eyebrow. "This is the key to Fengdu Ghost Market. It's silvery-white in the sun, but if you put it in the dark..." She ripped open her wristband, stuffed the key into her sleeve, and continued, "It will emit a dark green light."
"Look." The key in Yan Chan's sleeve really emitted a dark green light, and the light made people tremble like a poisonous snake.
After saying that, Yan Chan threw the key to Shi Guiyi, and then he slowly put on the wristband, thinking, apart from the one in my hand, there is another key in this Fengdu Ghost Market. Is this key a cabbage? Why is it everywhere?
"Is this the key to open the door?" Wu Chunlai asked.
"Of course not. Anyone can go to Fengdu Ghost Market." Yan Chan said without raising his head as he wiped the blood off the bowstring knife.
"So what is this?"
Yan Chan swallowed the words back when they came to her lips. She saw the flames rising into the sky, cursed inwardly, and ran away like the wind.
Yan Chan held the wooden basin and poured water over and over again, completely ignoring the scorching heat from the fire, which was becoming increasingly unbearable in this hot summer.
The three people who arrived immediately grabbed cold water and started putting out the fire without saying a word.
Fortunately, the fire was put out in time and the houses were not completely burned down.
"Uncle Chen, how are you?" Yan Chan's tone was filled with worry, and her brows were so furrowed that they could kill a fly.
"It's okay, my arm just got hit again." He said tremblingly with cold sweat on his forehead, "It's already broken anyway, so another hit won't hurt. Don't worry, Yan boy, Uncle Chen is fine, it just hurts a little."
"Uncle Chen." Her eyes were red and she didn't dare touch his arm for fear of aggravating the injury.
Yan Chan secretly vowed in her heart that she must go to Atlantis to find the legendary dragon god and heal Uncle Chen's arm.
"Why are you injured so badly? I have some medicine here. Although it is useless for the wound, it can relieve the pain." Shi Guiyi took out a bottle of pills from the cloth bag, poured out a pill and handed it to Yan Chan.
"Thank you very much." Yan Chan looked at Shi Guiyi deeply and hurriedly fed it to Uncle Chen.
Shi Guiyi had never seen Yan Chan look so broken before. His eyes were red and misty, like precious glass that would shatter at the slightest touch.
Yan Chan knelt on the ground, with her head slightly tilted. A few strands of hair on her forehead hung down due to her recent busyness, making her look even more lonely and fragile.
"Please keep this bottle of medicine." Shi Guiyi stuffed the bottle into Yan Chan's hand, but found that her hand was terribly cold. "You..." she exclaimed.
It turned out that she had a fever due to excessive blood loss and hard work. No wonder her lips were so pale.
After settling Uncle Chen down, Yan Chan fainted in her arms the next second. They both knelt on the ground. Yan Chan's head hit her collarbone, and the heat quickly passed over. His breath sprayed on her chest, tickling her like a feather.
Shi Guiyi was at a loss and wanted to push Yan Chan away.
Guan Zheng and Wu Chunlai, who came in, felt mixed emotions when they saw this scene.
Even though Guan Zheng had no time to pay attention to her demeanor at the moment, her skirt still formed a graceful arc. She trotted over quickly to "help" Shi Guiyi separate Yan Chan.
"He has a fever."
Hearing this, Guan Zheng touched her forehead, which was frighteningly hot.
"Come and help me." Guan Zheng said to Wu Chun who was standing beside her, not noticing his unfriendly look at all, as if he wanted to eat someone.
Wu Chunlai walked out of the shadows, hiding his displeased look, and the two of them carried Yan Chan up, one on each side.
Guan Zheng carefully avoided the place where she was injured, turned her head and saw her sleeping appearance, like a dead leaf in the woods, which would break with a slight bend.
In the dark night, the candlelight burned quietly in the room. Shi Guiyi stared at the candlelight, his consciousness gradually becoming blurred.
She yawned and forced herself to keep her eyes open, but sleepiness came over her. Just as she was about to fall asleep, the door was pushed open with a creak.
"I'll keep watch for you, you go to sleep." Guan Zheng said softly as she looked at Shi Guiyi who was extremely sleepy in the room.
"Well, okay." After that, she gathered her coat and left the room.
There were three of them taking turns keeping watch, and she was the second one.
Guan Zheng picked up the candlestick and slowly approached Yan Chan.
In the candlelight, her face seemed to be covered with a hazy veil. The warm yellow light created a quiet atmosphere. Yan Chan closed her eyes, her long eyelashes cast shadows in the candlelight, and her hair was loose, making her look like a girl with a cold face.
The injured arm had been bandaged with thick gauze and placed outside the quilt.
Guan Zheng looked at her slender and bony fingers and couldn't help but cover them. Her nail polish-coated fingertips gently stroked the back of her hand.
Press down gently on your knuckles.
The press didn't matter, but it actually made Yan Chan's hand curl up.
Guan Zheng's breathing stagnated. She quickly looked at Yan Chan's face and saw that her eyelashes were trembling slightly, as if she was showing signs of waking up.
"Who are you?" Yan Chan's eyes were hazy and her consciousness was still a little confused. She spoke in a weak voice.
"My name is Guan Zheng. What's your name?"
Yan Chan only remembered that her voice was particularly pleasant, "Yan Chan." After saying that, she fell asleep again.
"Yan Chan..." Guan Zheng murmured her name several times and smiled.
One day, Yan Chan slept until noon. As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw four heads gathered in front of her bed. She was so scared that she almost jumped out of the window and ran away.
"You guys..." Yan Chan patted his chest, trying to dispel the shock.
"Yan boy, you finally woke up. Your uncle must have been worried sick."
"The fever has subsided." Shi Guiyi put his hand on it again.
"Look at you, you close your eyes when you disagree with something. How can I live? I almost lose my son when he is young." Uncle Chen wiped away his tears hypocritically.
"Uncle Chen, you are getting more and more unreasonable." Although her fever had subsided, her voice was still a little weak. "I want to talk to Uncle Chen alone." Yan Chan looked at them with a little apology.
There were only two people left in the house. "Uncle is worried about you too. Just listen to me. Let's not go looking for Atlantis, okay?" Uncle Chen's worry was written on his face. He really didn't want Yan Chan to go. This was undoubtedly courting death.
"Uncle Chen, I've really made up my mind. I must go."
"You!" Uncle Chen stomped his feet in anger in the room, but he couldn't say anything more. His face turned red with anxiety.
"I will definitely make a wish to the Dragon God to heal your arm."
"It's just an arm, I don't care." He spread his hands.
"This is the arm that forged the sword..." she said sadly. If Uncle Chen hadn't saved her that day, his arm wouldn't have become like this.
"I have made up my mind, Uncle Chen, please stop trying to persuade me."
"You!!! I'm so pissed off!" He slammed the door and left. Seeing the three people standing outside, he put on a pitiful look and said, "Gentlemen and ladies, please help me persuade Yan. He insists on going to that damn Atlantis. So many people are looking for that place. I'm sure the journey will be full of dangers. He might even die. He won't listen to a word I say."
He was so heartbroken that he pounded his chest with his good arm.
"You said that Young Master Yan is going to Atlantis?" Guan Zheng asked again as if she heard the voice of an immortal, fearing that she had heard it wrong.
"Yes, young lady, you must help me persuade Yan."
————
There was a knock on the door, and Yan Chan looked at the three protagonists, with a slight redness in the corners of her eyes.
"Well, by the way, I still don't know your name, sir." Shi Guiyi was the first to break the silence.
"Yan Huaiqi." Her voice was a little hoarse.
"My name is Shi Guiyi, this is Wu Chunlai and Guan Zheng." Shi Guiyi introduced them one by one.
......
The moon was hanging on the treetops again. Guan Zheng saw Yan Chan's figure from the window. She quickly put on her coat and ran out, but was stopped by Wu Chunlai.
"It's so late, where are you going?" His face was hidden in the darkness and his expression could not be seen clearly.
"I've eaten too much, so I'm going to go downstairs for a walk." Guan Zheng closed the door and walked around Wu Chunlai who was blocking the way.
Wu Chunlai shut his mouth. After all, he had no right to care about her affairs. He walked back to his room and looked through the window to see Yan Chan standing under the tree, and... Guan Zheng trotting over. His expression became even darker.
"Yan Chan...?" Guan Zheng asked tentatively.
"Huh?" Yan Chan turned around suspiciously. She didn't expect that someone knew her real name. When she saw that the person who came was Guan Zheng, she looked a little surprised. How did Guan Zheng know it?
"What... did you call me just now?" Yan Chan asked again without giving up.
"Yan Chan?" Guan Zheng's already confused heart became even more confused.
"Why do you call me Yanchan?" Yanchan was even more confused, and she began to stutter.
"You had a high fever last night and you woke up once to tell me your name was Yanchan." Guan Zheng blinked, and the tips of her ears turned red again.
"So that's how it is..." No wonder.
"You call yourself Yan Huaiqi today, is it..."
"Ah, Yanchan is my nickname." Yanchan thanked herself for her wit. At that moment, her clever mind took over the upper hand. "Miss, please call me Yan Huaiqi in front of others from now on."
"Then when it's just you and me, can I call you Yan Chan?" Yan Chan was so shocked by Guan Zheng's blunt words that she was speechless. She glanced to the side with an unnatural expression, thankful that the night was particularly dark, covering her slightly red cheeks. "Sure."
"Yan Chan."
"I am here."
