Chapter 164 Trapped in a Trap

After Mu San left, Dark Moon Fairy's eyes grew incredibly cold, as if the entire world had frozen. Her beautiful face now revealed a hint of resolve and determination. She gritted her teeth gently, then flew towards the east of the city without hesitation.

Soon, she arrived at Huang Zhirui's residence. It looked unremarkable, like any other official's residence. However, Dark Moon Fairy knew it must be hiding a secret.

She carefully flew into the Huang Mansion, flitting through its corners like a lithe butterfly. She cleverly avoided the guards' sight and silently began searching the mansion. She carefully examined every room and every corner, not missing a single clue.

Time ticked by, but Dark Moon Enchantress found nothing unusual. This made her doubt her judgment. However, she refused to give up and continued to explore this seemingly ordinary mansion.

Just as she was about to turn and leave, Huang Zhirui had returned to the mansion without her noticing. He hurried, without pausing, towards a rockery in the courtyard. He stretched out his right hand and gently turned a moss-covered stone a few times.

Something surprising happened - the seemingly ordinary stone seemed to be cast with magic. As it turned, a hidden entrance to a deep secret passage suddenly appeared in the rockery.

Huang Zhirui stepped into the secret passage without hesitation, his figure instantly disappearing into the darkness. A moment later, there was only a slight sound, and the secret passage door slowly closed. The entire rockery looked as if nothing had happened before, as if everything that had just happened was just an illusion.

Time ticked by, and finally, Huang Zhirui reappeared beside the rockery. This time, he held a thick stack of account books in his arms, which he clutched tightly to his chest as if they were the most precious treasures in the world. His expression was serious and focused, as if filled with awe for the books.

After Huang Zhirui left, Dark Moon Fairy cautiously approached the rockery, moving lightly, as if afraid of disturbing something. She carefully observed the surroundings, then, following the method she remembered, skillfully opened the entrance to the secret passageway.

Dark Moon Fairy dodged into the dark passage, which was pitch black, so dark she couldn't see her hand in front of her face. She groped her way forward cautiously, each step filled with caution.

Suddenly, she felt like she was stepping on empty air and lost her balance. Before she could react, she fell directly into a deep trap.

Dark Moon Fairy was startled. She quickly took a deep breath and tried to leap out of the trap. However, at that moment, a thick cloud of poisonous smoke billowed from above her head. This poisonous smoke was so fierce that it was impossible to avoid it.

Dark Moon Enchantress didn't dare delay a moment and quickly held her breath. She knew that if she inhaled the poisonous smoke, the consequences would be disastrous. She tried to remain calm and pondered a response.

When she reached the bottom, she found herself in an enclosed space. The walls were as smooth as mirrors, with no place to climb. And the poisonous smoke continued to rise from above her head, filling the entire space. In a confined space surrounded by stone walls...

In the darkness, Dark Moon Fairy gently tapped the surrounding walls with her red umbrella, trying to find a way out.

She carefully tested each stone wall, but found that the stone walls here were unusually thick and seemed to have no flaws.

Time ticked by, and the poisonous smoke rising from above her head made it difficult for Dark Moon Fairy to breathe. She knew that if she didn't quickly block the source of the poison, she would be unable to escape.

Dark Moon Fairy tightly grasped the red umbrella in her hand, took a deep breath, mobilized all her energy, and slammed down towards the stone wall.

With a loud bang, she knocked off a small piece of the stone wall. However, this was far from enough. She had to use these broken stones to completely block the leakage of poisonous smoke.

Dark Moon Enchantress used her internal energy without hesitation, rolling up the rubble into the air one by one and accurately hitting the smoking area above.

Once, twice, three times... After several attempts, Dark Moon Enchantress finally succeeded in sealing the poisonous smoke mechanism above her head.

She was exhausted, and the poisonous smoke she had inhaled was beginning to take effect. But she didn't stop, instead she endured the discomfort and continued to search for a way to leave.

She searched around the stone wall for a long time but couldn't find any flaws. She thought the purpose of this trap was to trap people to death!

Dark Moon Fairy sighed helplessly, her body limp against the stone wall due to exhaustion. She reached into her bosom, pulled out an antidote pill, and swallowed it. While this pill couldn't completely eliminate the poison, it at least slowed down its onset.

She squeezed her eyes shut, straining to conserve the remaining strength within her. In her current state, shattering the stone wall was a pipe dream! She had no other options but to wait, hoping Huang Zhirui's men would notice her intrusion in time. If they did, she could kill them. Perhaps there was still a glimmer of hope for her...

After hearing what Shang Lu said, Xueying's expression instantly turned extremely cold, and he asked in a chilling tone, "Have you actually discovered the location of the secret passage set up by Huang Zhirui?"

Shang Lu nodded without hesitation and replied, "I have some concerns about this matter. I feel that this secret passage may be the key clue for us to track down the prince and hide his troops!"

After a brief moment of thought and consideration, Xueying turned to Shang Lu and solemnly instructed, "I will personally go and investigate tonight, and you will stay outside to handle the arrangements! Remember, do not act rashly, or you may alert the enemy and cause a disaster!"

Shang Lu said anxiously, "Master! In my opinion, why don't you let me go and investigate the situation first? After all, no one knows what kind of danger is hidden here. If something happens to you, how can I explain it to my brothers in the sect..."

Xueying personally reached out and patted Shang Lu on the shoulder, comforting him, "Don't worry! My skills have now fully recovered to their peak state. A mere dangerous place won't be a problem for me. But you, you must make sure your people can successfully hold Huang Zhirui back!"

Shang Lu quickly lowered his head and said, "Master, don't worry! I have arranged everything. Shang Zhi is keeping an eye on the dancers! Huang Zhirui will definitely stay with the dancers tonight and will definitely not come back!"

Blood Shadow nodded, stood up and walked out. He mounted his horse and disappeared into the darkness...
