Chapter 239 The Idle Prince

Xiao Jinghan smiled helplessly: "I can't lead troops in battle, isn't this embarrassing for me?" He sighed, feeling very distressed. He knew he was not good at military affairs, but facing his eldest brother's request, he couldn't refuse.

After a moment's silence, Xiao Jinghan spoke again: "Okay, if big brother insists on handing the tiger talisman to me, then I can only do my best. However, I will keep half of the tiger talisman, so that I can explain to His Majesty." After speaking, he looked at Xiao Jingyi deeply, expressing his determination and sense of responsibility.

Xiao Jingyi raised his eyebrows slightly, a hint of satisfaction flashing in his eyes. He took out the other half of the tiger talisman from his bosom, handed it to Xiao Jinghan, and said gently, "In that case, let's do as you say. You should have a good rest and don't overwork yourself. I still have to go to the military camp to deal with some matters, so I won't bother you for now. If you need any help, you can directly discuss it with your sister-in-law. She will fully support you."

Xiao Jinghan took the tiger talisman and nodded gratefully: "Thank you, brother, I understand."

As soon as Xiao Jingyi left, Xiao Jinghan said to Wen Gui: "Send a message to the capital, and we'll get half of the tiger talisman!"

Luo Lingyue looked at him coldly: "Why don't you take over the entire Tiger Talisman?"

Xiao Jinghan's eyes were cold: "After all, we have to reassure him! Can you deal with the Liao family alone?"

Luo Lingyue sneered, "No problem at all! I heard her tell the kitchen this morning that she would make us medicinal food every day. It seems they are really afraid that you will die!"

A flicker of surprise crossed Wenfu and Wengui's faces. The princess hadn't left her room all day, so how did she know what Liao had said? Could someone have tipped her off?

Xiao Jinghan frowned slightly, a hint of doubt flashed in his eyes, and he looked at Luo Lingyue and asked, "You didn't go out today!"

Luo Lingyue chuckled and shook her head, then waved her hand, signaling Wen Fu and Wen Gui to leave. Then, she chuckled softly, "Yeah, I didn't go out today. But it was the little idiot who told me this! He sneaked into the kitchen to eat roast chicken!" She couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Upon hearing this, Xiao Jinghan's lips curled up slightly, revealing a faint smile. He didn't continue to question Luo Lingyue as to why she could understand the little idiot's cries. Instead, he cleverly changed the subject and said, "I see. In that case, I will have the servants prepare the meal, and we will enjoy it together!" After that, he clapped his hands gently, called over a maid, and whispered a few instructions.

After breakfast, the two of them spent the morning in the study discussing the Nanyi scenic spots. Xiao Jinghan sat at the table, flipping through some information, while Luo Lingyue stood nearby, occasionally asking questions. The entire morning passed like this, and they were completely unaware of how quickly time had flown by.

Finally, Luo Lingyue couldn't help but speak: "Do you have any special ideas or plans for these places?" She looked at Xiao Jinghan expectantly, hoping that he could give a clear answer.

Xiao Jinghan smiled lightly and replied in a relaxed tone, "I am just a sickly prince. What great ambitions can I have? It's better to just live freely and unrestrainedly."

Luo Lingyue heard the self-deprecating tone in his words, but didn't care. Instead, she raised her eyebrows and suggested, "In that case, how about we go listen to some music together tomorrow?"

Xiao Jinghan was slightly startled when he heard this, then a faint smile appeared on the corner of his mouth and he nodded in agreement. So, they agreed to go to the theater together tomorrow to enjoy a wonderful performance.

As night fell, before dinner, Liao sat in the main hall and asked the servant beside her: "Did Xiao Jinghan behave in any unusual way today?"

The servant quickly stepped forward and replied respectfully, "Madam, the prince and princess have been enjoying tea and flowers in the courtyard today. Later, they played a game of chess. Besides that, the prince has been teaching his mynah bird to speak, while the princess has been playing with her puppy. Neither of them has left the courtyard all day."

After hearing this, Liao nodded slightly to show her satisfaction, then waved her hand and said, "In that case, let's send tonight's meal to them. As long as they don't go out, they can cause less trouble, and I can worry less."

As night fell, Xiao Jingyi returned to the mansion. Liao told him in detail about Xiao Jinghan's entire day. After listening, Xiao Jingyi couldn't help but sneer, "He's not bad at all. Being a carefree prince is quite comfortable. However, I heard that they are going out of the mansion to listen to music tomorrow. This cannot be taken lightly. I will send someone to secretly monitor them!"

Liao smiled softly and said gently, "Since my husband is still a little worried, why don't I go with them?"

Xiao Jingyi thought about it and nodded, "That's great. With Madam accompanying them, I'm sure they won't cause any trouble."

It was late at night, and Xiao Jingyi and his wife were sound asleep. Suddenly, a sharp cry pierced the night sky, shattering their sweet dreams. "Little idiot! Little idiot!" The voice rang out outside the window, extremely harsh.

Xiao Jingyi and his wife woke up from their sleep, their hearts racing and cold sweat breaking out on their foreheads. They looked at each other, their eyes filled with confusion and fear. Who on earth could have made such a terrifying cry at this time?

Soon, a servant hurried in to report to Xiao Jingyi. A black mynah bird was chirping incessantly outside the window, and the servants had already gone to chase it away. However, to their surprise, when the servant reached out to grab the bird, Luo Lingyue's pet idiot bit him hard. The servant grimaced in pain and backed away.

Just then, Liao's little white cat heard the noise and came over. Its eyes widened, and it barked provocatively at the little idiot. Undeterred, the little idiot immediately pounced on it and engaged it in a fierce fight. The two little animals fought fiercely, and for a moment, the yard was in chaos.

The mynah bird seemed to be very interested in this fight. It flew to Xiao Jingyi's window and continued to scream, "Little idiot! Kill it!" as if cheering for the little idiot.

The little white cat had its tail bitten by the little idiot. It screamed shrilly, trying to break free. Liao heard the kitten's cries, and with such heartache that she couldn't help but rush out and yell at it. She ordered the maids to chase the little white dog away with sticks, but the little idiot refused to obey and continued barking. Several servants and maids worked together to drive the little idiot out of the yard.

Not long after the courtyard returned to peace, Xiao Jingyi and Liao had just fallen asleep when the mynah bird suddenly flew back to their window and screamed loudly: "Little idiot! Little idiot!"

The sudden noise woke Xiao Jingyi from his sleep. He cursed angrily, "You damn beast! Get out of here!"

However, the mynah bird did not seem to be afraid. Instead, it spread its wings and flew to a nearby tree and continued to scream: "Damn beast! Get away from me!" It imitated what Xiao Jingyi had just said, and its tone was very lifelike, as if it was mocking him.
