Chapter 30 Assassination

The King of Qin put on his veiled hat and left the palace, avoiding all eyes. He followed the advice of Dark Moon Fairy and Blood Shadow and went straight to the General's Mansion without even taking his own guards.

In the study of the general's mansion, Luo Jing looked at the man who took off his veil. He looked at this man with confusion. He looked exactly like his follower, except that he was a little taller and more powerful than his follower.

Luo Jing asked, "Excuse me, who are you? Why are you visiting my general's residence so late at night? And why are you disguised as one of my followers?"

The King of Qin touched his face and asked, "Uncle, do you really not recognize me?"

Luo Jing recognized the voice of the King of Qin and said in surprise, "Your Highness Luo Jing pays homage to the King of Qin!"

The King of Qin supported Luo Jing who was about to kneel down and said, "Uncle, there is no need to do this. Just call me Chengjin in private!"

Luo Jing nodded and couldn't help but ask curiously: "When did Cheng Jin have such a skilled disguise artist?"

The King of Qin told Luo Jing about Dark Moon Fairy and Blood Shadow. He sighed, "I didn't expect the people in the martial arts world to be so skilled in disguise. Uncle, I'm here to discuss going to Beiyuan with you."

Luo Jing invited King Qin to sit down in front of the desk. On the desk was the route map for the trip to Beiyuan.

Luo Jing pointed to the two routes nearby and said, "I'm going to have Xiao Si and Xiao Wu pretend to be you and take these two routes. The two of us will follow the army along this route!"

The King of Qin smiled and said, "Uncle, there's no need for Little Four and Little Five to pretend to be me. Ten people from the Soul-Draining Sect will pretend to be me, departing at different times and along different routes. Dark Moon Fairy will disguise them to ensure everything goes well!"

Luo Jing asked worriedly, "The two major assassin sects in the martial arts world, can they be trusted?"

The King of Qin recalled that when he was in the palace, he was also puzzled by their actions. So he asked them what reward they wanted.

Dark Moon Fairy gnashed her teeth and said, "I have a grudge against the Prime Minister and the Crown Prince. Do you believe this reason? The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I don't want the Crown Prince to ascend to that position. So you don't have to question why I'm helping you. Helping you is like helping myself."

Xueying laughed and said, "What a coincidence! The Queen and I have a grudge! How can I let the son of my enemy get what he wants? The Crown Prince will definitely find someone to assassinate you while you're on the road to Beiyuan."

After hearing what the King of Qin said, Luo Jing sighed and said, "It seems that the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister have quite a few enemies! Then let's follow their arrangements for the journey to Beiyuan. I think their arrangements are quite good."

Dark Moon Fairy and Blood Shadow stood high above the gates of Shangjing. Dark Moon Fairy sneered, "Can't you come up with a good excuse yourself? Are you saying the same thing as me? Do you think it's fun?"

Xueying was dejected, his voice faint in the wind: "How do you know that what I said is not true?"

In the thick darkness, Dark Moon Fairy felt that the blood shadow was as lonely as the night itself...

The next morning, Luo Jing led his army out of Shangjing. The King of Qin followed Luo Jing, disguised as his attendant.

The prince's spy planted in the Prince of Qin's palace brought news that the Prince of Qin led his confidants out of Shangjing City in the middle of the night.

The corners of the prince's lips moved: "The King of Qin must be killed!" The people in the dark took the order and went out.

The Third and Fourth Princes' men received the order and left the city one after another. It was a rare occasion for them to work together on a single matter.

The prime minister's loyal soldiers also chased the King of Qin's troops out of the city.

The Queen said to Madam Liu, "Send them all out! An Qinghuan, that bitch, wait until her only son is dead. What's the point of me watching her compete for favor? She's a wicked concubine who brings disaster to the country and the people!"

The prince's followers were the first to catch up with the King of Qin's troops. They surrounded them completely. The leader shouted, "Take the King of Qin's head! Leave no one alive!"

According to their thinking, the King of Qin's team was just ordinary guards, without many people with strong martial arts skills.

But when several of their first warriors who rushed forward were killed, the leading man realized something was wrong. These people were not ordinary guards, but a group of people with great martial arts skills.

All these assassins rushed forward, and after a burst of swords and sabers, all the assassins brought by the leading man were killed!

The leading man was frightened and was about to run away, but the King of Qin drew his bow and an arrow flew into his back!

The leading man fell to the ground. The King of Qin dismounted and walked over to him: "Tsk tsk! Who are these people you brought with you? Not enough to kill!"

The leading man's eyes were filled with horror: "You! You are not the King of Qin!"

The King of Qin laughed heartily and took off his mask: "I am your ancestor! Go back and tell your master, I will kill as many of you as you come!"

The man dressed as the King of Qin turned out to be Du Zhong from the Soul-Sucking Sect.

After Du Zhong finished speaking to the leading man, he pulled the arrow out of his back and threw it aside. He turned and walked away, saying, "You are too weak! Send some experts next time!"

The leading man returned covered in blood and said to the prince: "Master! The King of Qin... is a fake...!" After that, he died from excessive blood loss!

The prince's eyes flashed with viciousness: "Send another person to find the King of Qin! Kill him directly! Send a master!"

The third prince's assassins caught up with the King of Qin in a canyon. They did not dare to take action near the capital, and followed him all the way to the canyon before preparing to shoot the King of Qin.

Before they could make a move, a group of ghost-like people had already circled behind them and started to harvest heads one by one with their swords!

The warriors who thought they were great martial arts masters didn't even have the strength to fight back and died in large numbers.

Seeing all the assassins dead, the King of Qin took off his mask while sitting on his horse. It turned out to be Shang Lu!
