Chapter 71: A Big Trouble at the Birthday Banquet

Dark Moon Fairy tiptoed into the room and looked around, noting that the layout was unusually simple. Apart from the necessary tables, chairs, and a few rows of bookshelves, there weren't many extravagant items. She secretly wondered, "Could this be Xiao Jingyi's study?"

According to the original drawings, the room should have been larger, but what she saw was completely different from what she had imagined. She couldn't help but wonder if there was something else going on.

Filled with suspicion, Dark Moon Fairy began to search every corner. She carefully touched the walls and furniture, trying to find any hidden switches or passages. Time passed, and just when she was about to give up, she suddenly noticed that the inkstone on the desk seemed a little strange.

She quickly stepped forward and gently moved the inkstone away. Sure enough, with a slight noise, the entire wall behind the desk slowly moved backwards!

The sight before her astonished Darkmoon Fairy—it turned out there was a hidden world behind this wall! A spacious and dark chamber appeared before her, filled with cabinets with hidden compartments. Darkmoon Fairy was overjoyed, thinking that such a secret place must contain valuable treasures.

She gently reached for the top layer of the secret compartment, carefully opened the lid, and then slowly reached in, as if exploring an unknown world. When her fingers touched the wax-coated letters, a surge of anticipation and curiosity surged in her heart.

Just as she was about to open these mysterious letters to find out what was inside, she suddenly heard a slight sound - a few sharp and abrupt cat calls from outside the door. This sudden sound made her heart tighten and she immediately became alert.

Darkmoon Enchantress reacted quickly, tucking the letter into her sleeve without hesitation. After all, she had finally made it to this place; she couldn't leave empty-handed. She clutched her sleeve tightly, feeling the envelope's presence, her eyes gleaming with determination.

Then, like a flash of lightning, she darted out of the dark room, her movements nimble and agile, without making a sound. Reaching the window, she leaped without hesitation, jumped out, and disappeared in an instant...

Xiao Jingyi pushed the door open with a gloomy expression. When he saw the open door of the dark room, a nameless fire instantly surged in his heart. He roared angrily: "Damn it! There are spies who sneaked into the palace! Start a full search immediately!"

At this moment, Dark Moon Fairy was quietly lurking atop a large tree, observing the movements below with aloof eyes. Watching the teams rushing through the palace like a whirlwind, conducting a thorough search, she thought to herself: It won't be long before this fire reaches the troupe.

No, we can't just sit there and wait for death! Dark Moon Fairy knew she had to take action to protect herself and the troupe. With a thought, she quickly unleashed her unique skill—bee control.

A moment later, a huge black swarm of hornets suddenly emerged from the sky. They came in an overwhelming manner and swooped down towards the front yard of the palace.

These hornets seemed to possess a spirit, stinging anyone they came across. Meanwhile, the front yard was packed with court officials and military commanders who had come to offer their congratulations. Faced with the sudden hornet attack, they were completely unprepared and could only flee in terror, their cries echoing throughout the palace.

The front yard was in chaos, with everyone in the house clamoring. Meanwhile, the backyard was no less restless. Waves of terrified screams and miserable cries echoed from the rear, leaving everyone trembling with fear. Listening closely, they realized they were the voices of women and children! What had happened? Everyone rushed to the backyard to investigate, only to be stunned by the sight before them—countless snakes and rats of all sizes and lengths scurrying about!

These uninvited guests unleashed a wave of panic in the backyard. The women and children turned pale and trembled. Some collapsed to the ground, unable to move, while others clung to those around them, trembling. The entire backyard was plunged into despair and fear.

Elsewhere, Xiao Jingyi's guards attempted to prevent the guests from leaving the Wu'an Palace. However, something strange happened: as soon as they stepped outside the gates, the dense swarm of wasps ceased attacking them. This phenomenon baffled everyone, but also offered a glimmer of hope to those seeking to escape. Some courageous visitors took the opportunity to rush out, hoping to escape this terrifying place as quickly as possible.

The palace's grand theater was now filled with shouts and screams! The women, children, and elderly who had been leisurely watching the opera were now all in a panic—because they were being violently attacked by birds from the sky!

Upon hearing the noise, the guards rushed over and quickly surrounded Xiao Jingyi's father-in-law and mother-in-law, trying to protect them from harm. However, at this moment, everyone was horrified to see a huge eagle swooping down from the sky, attacking the guards like a cannonball! The eagle had clearly gone crazy, and it opened its sharp claws and beak and launched a ferocious attack on the guards without mercy!

The common people outside the Wu'an Palace looked at the scene in surprise: all the officials of Nanyi and the heads of various families looked panicked and embarrassed. Some of them had disheveled hair, some had wrinkled clothes, and some even lost one of their shoes!

These usually majestic and high-ranking figures were so out of control at this moment, making everyone curious about what had happened.
