Ye Jingchen knocked on the door, but there was no response. He called Ye Jinghe's name, but received no reply.
"I'll go in and take a look. You all stay outside and keep watch," Ye Jingchen said, pushing open the door and going in before closing it again.
He needed to confirm whether Ye Jinghe was actually in the bedroom.
He entered the bedchamber and immediately saw that the bed was bulging, but no head was visible, so he couldn't tell if it was a person or something else under the covers.
"Jinghe?" he called out, but no one answered.
He walked over and yanked off the blanket. He thought it was something to fool people, but it turned out to be Ye Jinghe, lying face down on the bed with his back up and face down.
This was the first time Ye Jingchen had ever seen someone sleep like this. Even if someone likes to sleep on their stomach, they would tilt their head to make it easier for them to breathe. Ye Jinghe's current position was really easy to suffocate!
"Jinghe, what's wrong? Are you sick?" he asked quickly.
"No," Ye Jinghe replied, his voice muffled.
"Then why didn't you answer when I called you? I thought you weren't in your bedchamber!"
"exist."
"Aren't you uncomfortable lying like this? Since you're not sick, get up, it's time for dinner." Ye Jingchen said, patting his back.
"Hiss—" Ye Jinghe couldn't help but gasp.
"What's wrong with your back?" Ye Jingchen sensed something was wrong and immediately tried to lift Ye Jinghe's clothes to check.
"I'm fine." Ye Jinghe remained face down, but he reached out and pressed down on Ye Jingchen's hand.
Because of this movement, half of his arm was exposed.
"What happened to your hand?" Ye Jingchen grabbed his wrist and rolled up his sleeve, revealing a very obvious red mark on his fair arm.
By the time Ye Jinghe realized what was happening, the injury on his arm was already fully exposed to Ye Jingchen.
"Who injured your hands? Are you injured on your back too? Why are you lying in bed like this?" Ye Jingchen asked three questions in a row.
After Ye Jinghe withdrew his hand, he immediately hid it under his stomach and remained silent.
"You went to see Xie Chang'an today? Were the injuries on your body caused by him?"
Ye Jingchen quickly guessed the reason for Ye Jinghe's injury.
Among the people they knew, the only one who could beat Ye Jinghe and dared to beat him like this was Xie Chang'an!
Moreover, Ye Jinghe had been trying to deal with Xie Chang'an all along!
"I can't beat him now just because I'm younger than him. In a few years, I'll definitely be stronger than him!" Ye Jinghe finally spoke up, saying sullenly.
How many times did he hit you? Do you have any other injuries?
"Don't you feel suffocated lying like this? Even if your back hurts, lying on your side will make you feel better!" Ye Jingchen said with some concern.
Ye Jinghe fell silent again and didn't move.
"Fangrui, quickly go and fetch Physician Zhang!" Ye Jingchen ordered loudly.
After giving his instructions, he reached out and pulled Ye Jinghe's face away, wanting to know why he had buried his face in the mattress.
Ye Jinghe was secretly competing with him, seemingly very resistant to his action.
Fearing he might accidentally aggravate Ye Jinghe's injuries, Ye Jingchen dared not exert any force and had to give up.
However, Ye Jinghe's behavior was simply a case of trying to cover something up!
"You won't let me see your face? Is it because Xie Chang'an also injured your face?" Ye Jingchen asked directly.
Ye Jinghe remained silent.
However, he did not refute it, which means that Ye Jingchen guessed correctly.

"Since I already guessed it, there's no need for you to hide it from me anymore, right? Lying like this is really unsafe, you should change your position quickly," Ye Jingchen said with concern.
"Brother, promise me you won't go to Xie Chang'an about this." Ye Jinghe didn't move, but he was willing to communicate.
"Why don't you look for him? Did you develop feelings for him after fighting with him?" Ye Jingchen asked, puzzled.
"I was beaten by him because I was not as skilled as him. I will avenge myself! One day, I will pay back ten times, a hundred times, the damage he did to me today!" Ye Jinghe said fiercely.
It's a good thing that the child has ambition. Although Ye Jingchen felt that it would be difficult for him to realize his wish, he would not discourage the child's enthusiasm.
Having a goal provides the motivation to move forward.
"Alright, I won't hold Xie Chang'an accountable for this," Ye Jingchen agreed.
Ye Jinghe then revealed his face, and Ye Jingchen saw that there was indeed a red mark on his fair and tender cheek.
The red mark was much lighter than the marks on his arm, but because it was on his face, it was still very noticeable.
Moreover, the mark is just below the corner of the eye; if it were any higher, it could potentially injure the eye.
That damned Xie Chang'an!
Although he promised Ye Jinghe he wouldn't go to Xie Chang'an about this, he could go to Xie Chang'an for other things. In short, Xie Chang'an dared to slap Ye Jinghe in the face, so this matter couldn't be left like this!
The old physician Zhang rushed over, carrying his medicine box.
"Imperial Physician Zhang, Jinghe is injured. Please examine him carefully to see if any bones or tendons have been damaged," Ye Jingchen said to Imperial Physician Zhang.
