"Is there anything Mother wants to tell me?" Ye Jingchen asked Xu Jingjing, calling her "Mother" even more naturally than he had at the door earlier.
"No," Xu Jingjing said with a straight face, feeling extremely awkward.
Ye Jingchen then looked at the two young mistresses.
They waved their hands repeatedly. Even their sister-in-law, who was their mother, hadn't said anything. They were just aunts, so what opinions could they possibly have?
After exchanging greetings, no one knew what to say, and the atmosphere became somewhat awkward.
"Second Aunt, Third Aunt, where are my younger brother Changze and younger sister Changzhao now? Can I go see them?" Ye Jingchen took the initiative to break the awkward atmosphere.
“They’re in the courtyard, Your Highness can certainly go see them,” the second and third young mistresses quickly said.
"Chang'an, come on, let's go play with your younger brother and sister." Ye Jingchen naturally took Xie Chang'an's hand in front of all the elders.
"Let's go, I'll take you there," Xie Chang'an said softly, a slight smile playing on his lips.
"Grandparents, Grandfather, Grandmother, Mother, and Aunts, we're off." After greeting all the elders, Ye Jingchen was led out of the main hall by Xie Chang'an.
As soon as they left, the expressions on the faces of everyone in the main hall could no longer be maintained.
"Oh! What a mess!" the Duchess sighed.
“His Highness the Crown Prince is a good child. We’ve watched him grow up. He can’t be wrong,” the old lady said.
“He is indeed a good boy. If Chang’an were a girl, I would be laughing in my dreams if I could find a husband like him,” Xu Jingjing said with a bitter face.
"Things have come to this point, there's no point in saying more. I only hope that the two of them can live a good life together," said the Duke of Zhenguo.
