Extra Chapter: After Xie Chang'an Became Emperor (2)

"Who exactly are you?" Xie Chang'an approached Ye Jingchen, making a gesture as if to choke him.

Ye Jingchen dodged the attack with a swift movement, causing Xie Chang'an's hand to miss its target.

Both of them were stunned for a moment.

Xie Chang'an was surprised that Ye Jingchen was able to dodge, while Ye Jingchen was surprised that Xie Chang'an's skills in his previous life were much worse than after his rebirth.

However, his health was poor in his previous life, and he lived under the emperor's surveillance for ten years. He had to pretend to be a useless person who knew nothing in order to survive, so his skills were probably not as good as his reborn self.

"Xie Jia, Xie Yi!" Xie Chang'an didn't even call out the names of the guards behind him, but instead called out the names of the secret guards.

The guards appeared immediately.

Knowing he was no match for the guards, Ye Jingchen offered no resistance and was immobilized by two guards, each holding one hand on each side.

Xie Chang'an then moved closer again, pinching Ye Jingchen's chin with one hand and lifting Ye Jingchen's arm with the other, revealing the bracelet.

"Do you know what this bracelet means? How dare you wear it on your wrist?" he asked coldly.

Then he noticed that as Ye Jingchen's arm was raised, the sleeve slipped down, revealing Ye Jingchen's arm, which was so white it seemed to glow, and obvious bluish-purple marks on it.

Those marks were too ambiguous. Even though Xie Chang'an had never experienced anything between men and women, he could tell at a glance where those marks came from!

A cold glint flashed in his eyes, and he released his grip on Ye Jingchen's chin, pulling out a gleaming short knife from his waist.

Such filthy and despicable people are not worthy of wearing their family heirloom.

"This bracelet was given to me by your mother!" Ye Jingchen said hurriedly as the knife was about to fall on his wrist.

"Because I'm the daughter-in-law she's chosen, all these marks on my arms are thanks to you!"

The sharp blade of the short knife left a bloody mark on Leng Bai's wrist, but fortunately the mark was not deep.

Xie Chang'an's face twisted in disbelief, as if he had lost something dirty, and he released Ye Jingchen's hand.

"If you don't believe in family heirlooms, I can even demonstrate the Xie family spear technique for you."

The Xie family's spear technique is only passed down among Xie family members and is never taught to outsiders!

Xie Chang'an stared intently at Ye Jingchen for a long while before speaking to the two guards: "Take him to the training ground."

Although Ye Jingchen didn't practice his marksmanship as diligently as Xie Chang'an every day, he had practiced for two whole years in the Northern Frontier. After marrying Xie Chang'an, he would occasionally be dragged along by Xie Chang'an to practice and spar, so he hadn't lost his skills.

Upon arriving at the East Palace's training ground, at Xie Chang'an's signal, Ye Jingchen was released by the guards. He picked a suitable spear from the weapon rack and skillfully demonstrated the Xie family spear technique.

As he sheathed his gun, he looked at Xie Chang'an and asked with a smile, "How about we have a little sparring session?"

When he sparred with Xie Chang'an after his rebirth, he was always on the receiving end of the beating. However, the scene where Xie Chang'an tried to choke him but he managed to dodge it gave him hope of winning against Xie Chang'an.

Xie Chang'an didn't say anything, but he walked to the weapons rack and picked out a spear.

The moment the two clashed, Ye Jingchen sensed the speed and power of Xie Chang'an's spear thrust, and he knew the outcome of the contest.

Xie Chang'an's skills are indeed much worse than they were after his rebirth, but his marksmanship is excellent. After about two hundred rounds of fighting, Ye Jingchen was finally brought to the point where Xie Chang'an pointed the tip of his spear at his chest.

"I lost again!" Ye Jingchen wasn't afraid at all even with his vital point pressed against him; instead, he showed a somewhat dejected expression.

"It's one thing to be unable to beat the future you, but I didn't expect to be unable to beat even the past you. You're right, I did slack off!" Ye Jingchen muttered to himself.

Xie Chang'an put away his gun with a complicated expression as he muttered to himself, unsure of what to say.

He had already discovered during the competition that this person who suddenly appeared was not only proficient in the Xie family's marksmanship, but also very familiar with his gun-handling habits. Only someone who was particularly familiar with him could do this.

"Well, now you should believe what I said, right?" Ye Jingchen put the gun back on the weapon rack, turned around and gave Xie Chang'an a bright smile.

"You said you know the future me, and that your father taught you marksmanship and your mother gave you the bracelet, but your father and mother have long since passed away. How could they have taught you marksmanship and passed the bracelet on to you?!" Xie Chang'an calmly pointed out the loopholes in Ye Jingchen's words.

Everything he said was utterly absurd.

"The future I'm talking about isn't your current future. Your current physical condition—" Ye Jingchen didn't finish his sentence, but Xie Chang'an already understood what he meant.

It's simply to say that given his current physical condition, he doesn't have many years left to live.

But if not now, then what kind of future is it?

Could he possibly come back to life?

"There are some things I can only tell you. Shall we find a place to talk alone?" Ye Jingchen invited Xie Chang'an.

"Okay, but—Xie Jia, check if he's hiding anything on him?"

At Xie Chang'an's command, Xie Jia immediately began a skillful inspection, scrutinizing every detail from head to toe, leaving no hair unchecked.

During the inspection, Xie Jia discovered that Ye Jingchen's hair ornament, the pendant around his neck, the bracelet on his other wrist, and even his belt all contained hidden mechanisms and concealed weapons.

After Xie Jia discovered something, Ye Jingchen raised his hands to show that he meant no harm.

He could only be thankful that he had transmigrated while he was sleeping; if it had been any other time, Xie Jia would probably have found a bunch of dangerous things on him by now.

Xie Chang'an also looked at the things Xie Jia had found with a strange expression, and subtly moved away from Ye Jingchen.

Even an emperor wouldn't have so many hidden weapons on him; this person is simply too exaggerated.

"Hehe... These are all little trinkets my older brothers gave me because they were worried I might be in danger," Ye Jingchen explained with a dry laugh.

"Should I have someone strip you naked?" Xie Chang'an asked with a deep look in his eyes.

After all, he had so many little trinkets on him; who knows if there was anything fishy going on with his clothes?

Ye Jingchen's smile froze, and he frowned, saying, "This isn't a good idea. If I take off my clothes, won't everyone see me naked? It's fine if you see me, but—"

"Shut up! I have no chance of having anything to do with you!" Xie Chang'an said coldly.

"If you're worried, then have your bodyguards follow you. Twelve bodyguards will do," Ye Jingchen said.

"How did you know I have twelve bodyguards?" Xie Chang'an asked in surprise.

"So that we can sleep in the same bed from now on—"

"Shut up!" Xie Chang'an interrupted Ye Jingchen again, his face so dark it looked like it could drip water.

How could he possibly sleep in the same bed with a man? Absolutely not in this life, and definitely not in the next!
