Yunling was completely exhausted. Her eyes could barely open, only a slit was visible. The number of people in front of her increased from one to three, then from three to five, and kept increasing, even more than a fish laying eggs.
She felt the sky and the earth shaking, like an earthquake. She felt as if she were in a vortex, spinning around and around until she was dizzy.
Her mind was blank; she couldn't remember anything, not even the slightest thing.
Seeing her confused state, Qian Xiaochong put down his wine bowl and snorted.
"Damn it, he said he couldn't drink alcohol, but he drank almost half a jar of my wine before he got drunk. He can eat more than a water buffalo in the field. You dry bastard, take the brat back with you. Take this chicken and two pieces of pork skin with you, so she can eat them when she wakes up."
Gangzi let out a burp, carefully helped Yunling up, took the chicken and pork skin with him, and kicked Datou, who was still busy eating, as he walked away.
Liu Erlang was completely focused on Yunling. He coveted her while she was drunk, so he pestered Gangzi, pleading with him to take Yunling home with him.
Gangzi, being a man, immediately saw through Liu Erlang's true intentions and began spitting at him. Finally, as Liu Erlang was getting on the donkey cart, Gangzi kicked him far away.

After having a hearty meal, Da Tou was happy to give the donkey a good bean cake and urged it to run towards the city as if it were running for its life. The three of them finally made it back to the vicinity of Dongjiaolou Street before sunset.
Da Tou got off the cart nearby, Gang Zi took the rope, drove back to the front of the house, stopped the donkey cart, and was about to help Yun Ling down.
Lu Yinghuai was already waiting at the gate of the mansion. When Yunling did not get out of the car for a long time, he became suspicious. He peered into the car and smelled a strong odor of alcohol before he even saw her.
What happened?
"The boss was forced to drink alcohol. The man used to be a river bandit. The boss had fought with him on the way back to Pingcheng by boat from Qingcheng. I don't know if they had a grudge, but he was very strong. The boss was drunk and couldn't fight him, so he could only endure it."
Lu Yinghuai was somewhat resentful of Gangzi. Yunling couldn't fight, so why couldn't he? He didn't know why Yunling had the idea of taking him in. All he was good at was talking. It would be so much better to take in a young woman, like Tang Ling, who had good judgment.
Despite his complaints, it was ultimately Yunling's decision, and he didn't want to interfere too much, so he focused all his attention on Yunling.
"Ling Niang? Ling Niang?"
Yunling opened her eyes at the sound, still groggy. Looking at Lu Yinghuai and then at the gate, she immediately thought of Zhang Shi. Zhang Shi was always like that, waiting for her at the gate. Suddenly, Lu Yinghuai's face transformed into Zhang Shi's, and she couldn't help but act coquettishly, calling out:
"Mother~ Mother~"
She opened her arms and wrapped them around Lu Yinghuai's neck, her voice sweet and soft as she murmured:
"Mother, I'm back. Have a safe journey!"
Lu Yinghuai picked her up directly, supporting her waist with one hand and gently supporting her buttocks with the other, just like he was holding a three-year-old child.
He finally seized an opportunity to openly embrace her. He stood tall and proud, carrying Yunling into the house like a victor. Chen Jie and Tang Ling, who had come after hearing the commotion, were stunned by the sight.
"Grandma, what is this...?"
Gangzi said indignantly:
"It's that bandit leader Qian Xiaochong. He's just relying on his three-year agreement with our boss, so he keeps trying to get him drunk. But that guy is like a brute, stronger than an ox plowing a field. I wanted to take the boss away, but he forced me back down."
Upon seeing this, Tang Ling hurriedly ran to the kitchen to make a hangover soup.
Chen Jie clicked his tongue twice, increasingly puzzled as to why his great-aunt had taken a liking to Gangzi, a guy who only knew how to talk big. If he had gone with him today, even if it meant losing his life there, he would have pinned Qian Xiaochong to the ground and beaten him. How could that guy possibly force his great-aunt to drink?
Chen Jie glared at Gangzi with displeasure, then adopted the airs of the former boss and said:
"Next time you go out, please let me know so that this kind of thing won't happen again."
Having said that, he hurriedly caught up with Lu Yinghuai, lest his great-aunt, who had just escaped one wolf's den, fall into another.
Gangzi felt that Chen Jie's words were unreasonable. If Yunling did not want this to happen, she would naturally not have done so with her abilities. But she made it happen anyway. Who knows if she did it on purpose?
After all, his boss was a cunning woman, and most people couldn't outmaneuver her. Gangzi considered himself very perceptive and could guess Yunling's thoughts. He knew this, so he wouldn't say anything. Let these people say what they want; as long as his boss knew how capable he was, that was enough.
Gangzi touched his nose and then ran to the backyard.
Yunling didn't want to get into bed, so Lu Yinghuai put her on the bed. She clung to him like a gibbon and wouldn't let go, so Lu Yinghuai had no choice but to continue holding her. Despite being covered in alcohol, he showed no disgust whatsoever, and the warmth in his eyes was even stronger than the winter sun.
Unfortunately, Chen Jie and Gangzi were now in the room.
Lu Yinghuai had no idea why these two were staring at him so intently. What bad intentions could he possibly have? He simply wanted to take advantage of Yun Ling's drunkenness to ask her if she had any romantic feelings for him, and what her opinion of Pei Lin was. That was all!
Unfortunately, these people won't give him that chance, which is really troublesome.
Tang Ling quickly brought in the hangover soup. Seeing that Yun Ling was still clinging to Lu Yinghuai, she hurriedly put down the soup and went over to pull Yun Ling away.
Startled by the sudden tug, Yunling desperately tried to cling back.
“Mother, don’t be angry. I wrote a letter. I really wrote a letter. It’s two whole pages long.”
"Yes, two pages."
Tang Ling responded, and Yun Ling turned her gaze to Tang Ling. Chen Jie and Gangzi quickly took advantage of the moment to completely pull Yun Ling off Lu Yinghuai and put her back on the bed.
As soon as Yunling got into bed, she vomited, covering the floor with her own. The stench of alcohol immediately filled the entire room. Tang Ling, seeing the three people still in the room, was somewhat at a loss and quickly said:
"You all go out first, I'll take care of the young lady here."
The three of them stared at Yunling, not moving an inch, until Tangling said she needed to change her clothes, at which point they reluctantly left.
As soon as the three left, Tang Ling fed Yun Ling the hangover soup. After she finished eating and her breathing became steady and she fell asleep, Tang Ling shoveled some mud and sand under the tree in the yard and covered the vomit to mask the smell. Then she went to the kitchen, scooped up a bucket of hot water, returned to the house, and closed the door tightly.
Tang Ling first took off Yun Ling's clothes, which were stained with muddy wine, picked up the scattered paper money, arranged it neatly, then quickly wiped her body, changed her into clean clothes, covered her tightly with a quilt, and then opened the window for ventilation.
