Chapter 355 Influenced by Him

Yunling stared at the plate of crab roe noodles in front of her, every single noodle coated with crab roe, and she could no longer hear what Lu Yinghuai was saying.

"Gangzi, Zifu, would you like to try some?"

"Thank you, Boss."

Gangzi responded before Zifu could. Zifu had shared half of Lu Yinghuai's crab roe noodles yesterday, and shouldn't have shared them again, but he felt that today's crab roe noodles had more crab roe than yesterday's, and must taste even better.

Before he could respond, Yunling had already served him half a bowl. He immediately avoided Lu Yinghuai's gaze and buried his head in his food. If he was ever blamed, he would just blame Yunling. After all, his husband would never dare to blame the person he loved.

Yunling also gave Gangzi half a bowl, and then picked out two strips of noodles from the remaining noodles for Lu Yinghuai.

"You ate yesterday, so you can't take it from me."

"Okay, no more fighting. Do you want to eat eel? I'll pick out the bones for you."

"Pick out the fish bones? Such a small fish, why bother picking out the bones when you can just put it in your mouth and eat it?"

Lu Yinghuai smiled, picked up an eel, put it in his bowl, and said as he peeled it:

"You need to get this dirty stuff out, and then use chopsticks to slide it down from here, and the eel meat will come out intact without any bones, and it won't taste bitter."

Yunling, who had gotten a good deal, was naturally generous with her praise. But as soon as she praised him, Lu Yinghuai's tail started wagging wildly. If Gangzi and Zifu hadn't acted quickly, he would have loved to peel off the whole pot of eels.

Yunling ate with great relish and even let out a burp. Lu Yinghuai also quickly finished the abalone and braised pork rice that Yunling had prepared for him. The four of them then rinsed their mouths with a cup of tea before heading to the Daxiangguo Temple.

Today, the Xiangguo Temple is just as bustling as it was when it last opened to the public. The dogs and cats in front of the temple gate have been replaced, and the young men and women watching the spectacle are also different.

"I wonder if my second brother's new house has been built yet."

Yunling was also quite concerned about this, and counting on her fingers, she simply said:

"Before I came to Bianjing, my family started packing up and moving to the Fan family, who are on good terms with our family. Now that so much time has passed, it should be completed by now."

Lu Yinghuai was overjoyed. If it was built, wouldn't he be able to move into the Yun family home and rekindle his relationship with Yun Ling?

"Why not take this opportunity of coming to the Great Xiangguo Temple to buy the things we need for our new home?"

"We do want to buy it, but now that we've bought it, we'll have to rent a car to go back, which is a bit of a hassle."

"No trouble at all. Just let Zifu make a couple more trips. He just ate half a bowl of your crab roe noodles, so he's got plenty of energy now."

Zi Fu's innocent eyes widened, as if his husband had been holding a grudge about this. But the crab roe noodles were truly delicious, making the trip worthwhile.

Yunling recalled that Lu Yinghuai always used Zifu to please her, and seeing Zifu's bewildered look made her unable to help but laugh.

After laughing, Yunling turned her attention to furnishing the new house. Although she had drawn up blueprints for her grandfather to build it, she had no idea what the actual result would be.

So she doesn't plan to buy ordinary items like chairs, beds, and tables, unless she sees something very unique and insists on buying it.

Furthermore, the Great Xiangguo Temple tends to sell small items, and she would probably have to buy the things she was thinking of elsewhere, so she wouldn't waste her time and effort.

Upon reaching the second gate, Yunling's eyes fell upon the straw mats, bamboo mats, and curtains, but she quickly moved them aside. Although these did not take up much space, they were indeed common items, and she believed that even if she did not buy them, Zhang Shi and Old Lady Yun would buy them anyway, so she gave up on the idea.

However, the screen on the side... Yunling wanted a screen. Whether it was the living room or the bedroom, she wanted to decorate it to create that kind of atmosphere. However, there were screens like this in Pingcheng, but the style of the paintings was quite different.

Yunling continued looking to the side, her gaze quickly drawn to a trinkets on the stall: a rhombus pattern woven from bamboo, divided into layers. As she pondered how to use it, the stall owner enthusiastically explained:

"This is a newly woven bamboo wall hanging. It can be hung on the wall to display some small trinkets. If you're interested, young man, you can buy one."

Yunling really liked it. Although she didn't know what to put on it, she knew that as long as she bought it, there would always be something to put on it. This bamboo wall hanging would always come in handy.

There was also a square one and a round one on the stall, which she also bought.

Perhaps because the flowers had opened and the coins were gone, she soon discovered another item she could buy: an incense burner.

Yunling felt that she must have been influenced by Lu Yinghuai, as she smelled his incense all day long, so she always thought about burning incense and also felt that burning incense was quite elegant.

She specially selected two simple, openwork incense burners for Zhang Shi and Granny Yun, and then moved on to those with unique designs: the duck-shaped incense burner for Yun Ruochun, the animal-shaped incense burner for Yun Ruoxia, the Boshan incense burner for Yun Chu, and a lotus-shaped incense burner for herself.

After choosing a stove, she noticed something interesting at the stall next door. It was an antique stall, and Yunling saw some rustic cups, teacups, and small kettles on the stall. They were old-fashioned, as if they had been left for a long time or dug out of the ground.

But then a selfish thought got the better of her. She was afraid that these stalls would sell all sorts of things, so she deliberately aged the craftsmanship to give them the reputation of being antiques. Yunling subconsciously looked at Lu Yinghuai beside her.

Seeing Yunling looking at her, Lu Yinghuai leaned close to her ear and whispered:

"If you like it, just buy it. You're not collecting antiques, so there's no need to be too fussy."

"Um!"

Yunling nodded emphatically. She felt that Yun Chu would like these artsy little trinkets. She would buy some for her to decorate the low table, and then go to the old man on the craft street to have a medicine cabinet made for her, similar to the medicine cabinets used in Ren'an Hall. She would definitely like it.

Yunling picked out what she liked, and then went to the third door to look at the calligraphy and paintings. She didn't understand these kinds of calligraphy and paintings, but for Pingcheng, if the words "from Bianjing" were attached to them, no matter how ordinary the calligraphy and paintings were, they couldn't be underestimated.

After selecting a few paintings and calligraphy works, Yunling bought a saddle and reins for Yun Ruochun, wondering how her aunt was doing at the county government office and whether Qin Yu had won her aunt's favor.

Then he bought some more velvet flowers and pearls for Yun Ruoxia, wondering what progress her aunt and Wen Siqing had made.

Yunling browsed all the stalls she could, and after she thought she had bought everything she needed, the stall across the street was offering discounts...
