Chapter 412 Are You Me When I was a Child?

As night fell, the orphanage became exceptionally quiet.

The owl in the tree hooted, its green eyes glowing an eerie green in the darkness.

The woman lay on the bed with her eyes closed, her breathing steady. The silver moonlight shone on the side of her face, and she looked like she had fallen asleep.

A wisp of black air quietly came in from the window, observed the room, and then slowly turned back.

“Crack—”

There was a faint sound of a door opening from the next room, followed by Jiang Xi's voice: "Are you sure they are asleep?"

"Well, I checked it with Black Moon, and Xing Yuan also gave us the props, so it shouldn't be wrong." Li Mu's voice was also very low, "Have you decided on the meeting place?"

"Yes, Uncle Yuan said everything is ready, just waiting for us to come over."

As they left, the chatter died down.

The woman lying on the bed remained motionless.

A few minutes later, the door of the room was gently opened again, and a small figure walked in carefully.

Through the dim light, I could vaguely make out that it was a little girl who was probably only five or six years old. She was holding a paintbrush and drawing paper in her hands. Her black pupils were like those of a little hamster, revealing a naive look.

She first glanced at Yu Li on the bed, then looked at Huang Ya next to her, blinked a few times, hummed, and then tiptoed to Huang Ya's bed.

After observing Huang Ya's face for a long time, the little girl made slight sounds of doubt from time to time.

When it was almost done, she finally lowered her head and started painting on the paper.

The little girl was drawing so seriously that she didn't notice that Yu Li next to her had already opened her eyes and was turning her head to stare at her.

When she was halfway through the painting, a gentle female voice suddenly sounded in her ears.

"The mouth is crooked."

The little girl shuddered all over, like a hamster whose tail was stepped on. Her eyes widened instantly and she quickly backed away, hiding in the darkness.

He stammered, "When did you wake up?"

Yu Li slowly sat up with the help of the bed. She touched her dizzy head, and the system prompt sound was still lingering in her ears.

After a while, she put down her hand, looked at the alert look of the little girl, and smiled gently: "She hasn't been awake for long."

After that, she changed the subject and said, "Your painting is really beautiful. It looks very much like the sister on the bed."

Hearing this, the little girl's eyes lit up, and without taking any more precautions, she quietly confirmed, "Really?"

"Of course it's true." Yu Li patted the seat next to her, "Come sit here and draw. It's tiring to stand."

The little girl was about to agree subconsciously, but then she hesitated.

She had met many volunteers in the orphanage. In the past, when those volunteers saw them drawing, they would either yell at them and try to stop them, or cover their faces for fear that they would be seen by them.

It's rare to see someone like Yu Li take the initiative to invite someone.

Or was she actually waiting for me to come over and then snatch the painting away?

Thinking of this, the little girl silently clenched the drawing board in her hand, her eyes darkened, and she pursed her lips and said, "Well... I'm not going over there. I'll leave first. Sorry to bother you. Have a good rest."

After saying that, she was about to turn around and leave.

Yu Li's soft laughter came from behind: "Why don't you finish drawing? I thought you wanted to become like this sister as soon as possible."

She paused and turned her head sharply: "You know?"

"Yeah." Yu Li nodded with a smile, then covered her chin and made a "hmm" sound.

"To be honest, I originally thought you would draw me, but I was really disappointed."

The little girl felt inexplicably hot on the face, shrank her neck back, and whispered in defense: "Yes, I'm sorry, because you are too difficult to draw, I'm not good at drawing, I'm afraid I can't draw it."

Yu Li:?

"Am I hard to draw?" She muttered, took the mirror from the table, and looked around. "No wonder I don't seem to see anyone drawing me."

The little girl was afraid that she might misunderstand, so she quickly explained: "Because you are very pretty, and pretty people need too many details to be drawn, they must be very similar to be successful, so we all choose simple drawings first."

Yu Li paused for a moment, her eyes curved, and her smile deepened, "I like this explanation very much."

Feeling that the woman was really different from those before, the little girl gradually let down her guard and slowly walked towards Yu Li.

She smiled shyly as she walked: "And the brother who often stands with you, he is actually very difficult to draw. Many people don't want to draw you."

But once they are drawn, they will look like that, so some people will still try it.

When she came to Yu Li, she seemed to remember something and blinked: "But I know there is someone who is very good at painting. He seems to be painting that brother."

"Is anyone painting Bo Jingmo?"

Yu Li lowered her head and became interested. "Has he finished the painting?"

She also wanted to see what Bai Jingmo looked like when he was a child.

The little girl shook her head. "I don't know, but he draws very quickly, so it should be almost done. It's just that he always leaves one stroke unfinished. He said he doesn't want to be like those people. I don't know if he will become that brother."

Yu Li opened the quilt and got out of bed. She carried the little girl to bed and let her sit on the edge of the bed. She said with a squinting look, "I see. Thank you. Then you can paint here. This sister will definitely agree to let you paint."

The little girl's eyes lit up: "Really?"

She touched her head and said a little embarrassedly: "I have been in my room all day. Those kids were drawing the sister with glasses during the day. I guess I can't beat them, so I came here at night..."
