Chapter 50 Uncle Gu

Chapter 50 Uncle Gu

Chu Huai said, "I didn't expect that someone your age could have such a deep understanding of games."

Gu Heng paused for a moment, then quickly regained his composure. "Actually, I'm not that old."

Chu Huai said, "Want to play a game?"

Gu Heng smiled slightly, "Okay."

Chu Huai sat down next to Gu Heng with his phone in hand. He glanced at Gu Heng's chin and said, "You have lipstick marks on your face."

Gu Heng was slightly taken aback. He remembered something, raised his hand and touched the spot where the girl had kissed him earlier. Sure enough, there was a little red on his fingertip. He looked at Chu Huai.

Chu Huai cleared his throat awkwardly. "I never intended to turn a blind eye and embarrass you. See, I'm just reminding you, aren't I?"

He was indeed kindly reminding Gu Heng now, but whether he had that kind intention before is another matter.

Seeing how Gu Heng kept his distance from all the women at the banquet before, and now seeing that ambiguous lipstick mark on his face, I wonder which incredibly ruthless female devil managed to seduce this man.

Chu Xiang sneezed on the way.

In the warm and comfortable greenhouse, large swathes of hydrangeas are in full bloom.

Meng Qiyue was dressed up carefully today. She wore a white, fitted fishtail dress, which accentuated her slender figure. Her waist looked so delicate that it seemed like it could be encircled by a single hand. Her long, wavy hair was loose and decorated with pearl hair clips. People would probably believe she was a goddess.

But she happens to have a mouth.

"Wen Chi, you're a jinx! From the first day you came to my house, nothing good has ever happened to us!" Meng Qiyue was arrogant and rude, completely lacking any ladylike demeanor.

Still not satisfied with that, she continued, "Get out of my house, stay away from my father, nobody in my family wants to see you!"

The boy who was being scolded sat quietly in his chair, ignoring Meng Qiyue's noisy voice, and instead pruned a pot of roses on the table.

The boy was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants. Although his clothes were simple, his good physique made them look just right. He had a cold expression and was indifferent to his surroundings except for the potted plant in his hand. He was extremely indifferent.

The more he acted this way, the angrier Meng Qiyue became.

She only found out after she went home for the holidays that her father had brought home a boy who was only a few months younger than her. The boy's name was Wen Chi, and his surname was not Meng, but Mr. Meng had all the servants in the house call him Young Master.

In the short two days since Meng Qiyue returned, she heard her parents arguing several times in their room. But every time they left the room, they acted like a loving couple as before. Meng Qiyue couldn't stand this hypocrisy.

Her mother could tolerate it, but that doesn't mean she could.

Even though her father privately reassured her that she would still receive everything the family had given her in the future, she still couldn't swallow her anger!

Meng Qiyue usually pays great attention to her appearance and tries her best to act like a perfect young lady from a wealthy family. However, she can't keep up the act now. She takes a few steps forward, picks up the pot of roses on the table, and is about to smash it on the ground when the boy's strong hand grabs her arm.

Wen Chi remained silent, and there was no sign of anger in his dark eyes.

Meng Qiyue: "Are you mute? You can't even say a word!"

Wen Chi snatched the potted plant from her hand, sat back down, and continued tending to the plant, which had just begun to bloom with a few buds.

Meng Qiyue was about to be driven mad by this man. Wen Chi was simply impervious to reason. She was afraid that even if she threatened him with a knife, he wouldn't even bother to lift an eyelid.

Her father told her to treat Wen Chi like a younger brother, but she didn't need a younger brother!

Meng Qiyue kicked off her high heels and snatched the potted plant from the table again. Just as Wen Chi was about to reach out, Meng Qiyue quickly stepped onto a chair and stood on the table, looking down at him and raising the potted plant high in her hand.

"If you dare touch me, I'll smash it!"

Wen Chi's hand froze in mid-air. He looked up at Meng Qiyue and finally uttered his first cold sentence: "Are you stupid?"

Meng Qiyue's eyes widened. "Say that again if you dare!"

Her fierce stance made it seem as if she would smash the potted plant over his head if he said another word.

Someone knocked on the glass door of the greenhouse from the outside.

Chu Xiang pressed her face against the door, full of curiosity, "July, what are you doing?"

Dressed like a princess, Meng Qiyue is now standing on the table holding flowers. Her white dress is covered in mud, and she no longer looks like a goddess, but rather like Cinderella who has fallen into the mud.

When Chu Xiang saw her looking like a madwoman, Meng Qiyue could no longer hold back. She couldn't bear the humiliation, and her eyes welled up with tears. She burst into tears, crying out, "Chu Xiang, turn your face away from me! Don't look at me!"

Chu Xiang obediently turned around, thinking to herself that the boy in the flower room must be the one Mr. Meng brought back before.

Meng Qiyue, holding a flowerpot, swayed slightly as she stood on the table, as if someone had helped her up. However, she was too emotional to notice such a small thing. She jumped off the table, glared at Wen Chi, and walked to the door of the flower room in her shoes.

"I didn't bring my phone, and I lost the key to the greenhouse. Chu Xiang, please go and ask Aunt Li for a spare key so she can come and save me!"

Chu Xiang took a step forward, then stopped and asked, "Are you alright here by yourself?"

What she really wanted to ask was whether the boy would hurt Meng Qiyue.

Meng Qiyue hugged the flowerpot tightly in her hands, "I can do it, you have to go find someone to save me."

Upon hearing this, Chu Xiang ran forward.

Meng Qiyue turned around and saw Wen Chi take a step closer. She immediately raised the flowerpot high again, "If you dare come any closer, I'll smash it!"

Her demeanor gave her the air of someone who could control the emperor and command the feudal lords.

Wen Chi stood still, expressionless.

Chu Xiang ran back the way she came, and when she arrived at the courtyard, she immediately saw two figures sitting on a bench.

Chu Huai said excitedly, "You're amazing! You don't seem like you haven't played games in ages. Uncle Gu, how about I become your apprentice and you take me on as your disciple?"

Gu Heng said in a low voice, "Actually, I'm only a few years older than you."

Chu Huai: "Hey, age is irrelevant. It's your aura that makes me feel like I'm taking advantage if I call you 'brother'."

Gu Heng: "Your father and my father were of the same generation."

Chu Huai: "It's alright, let them talk their way, we'll talk ours."

The siblings from the Chu family probably share the same confused understanding of how to address each other, and they always seem to be hitting people where it hurts.

Chu Huai said regretfully, "If my sister had gotten engaged to you instead of Gu Jue, I would have been so glad. I feel that you have a much better temper than Gu Jue, and you are a very reliable person."

Gu Heng's eyebrows twitched slightly, "Actually, if I were to be with Xiangxiang..."

“But that’s impossible.” Chu Huai waved his hand. “You’re so much older than my sister, she would never like an old man.”

Gu Heng looked at the girl walking towards him, his silence filled with accusation.

Chu Xiang slapped Chu Huai on the head, "What nonsense are you spouting here! Brother Gu is young, promising, steady, and reliable, he's not old at all!"
