Chapter 42 I'm sorry

Chapter 42 I'm sorry

It turns out that Chen Wanrou had previously planned to introduce Gu Heng to potential blind dates.

A foot stomped down on his instep without any hesitation, with great force, as if venting someone's resentment.

Gu Heng's brows twitched slightly, but his expression remained unchanged as he said, "I have no plans to go on blind dates."

Under the table, Chu Xiang pulled her violent foot back.

Chen Wanrou looked at Gu Chaoyang and said, "Look at what your son is saying! If he doesn't go on blind dates, how could he possibly find a girlfriend on his own?"

I don't know what's wrong with young people these days. There are plenty of outstanding people, but more and more of them are not looking for partners. Some people even talk about being against marriage. How can a person not get married when they reach a certain age?

Isn't that contrary to common sense?

Gu Chaoyang wasn't in a hurry. "My dad got married to my mom when he was in his thirties, and I got married to you when I was thirty. Our Gu family has always had a tradition of late marriage and late childbirth. If Aheng doesn't want to date now, then he doesn't have to. It's not a big deal."

Chen Wanrou's eyelids twitched. "Can't you, as a father, be a little less casual?"

Whenever a disagreement arose at home, Gu Chaoyang would always agree with whatever Gu Heng did, as if the father and son were on the same side, often leaving Chen Wanrou speechless with anger.

Gu Jue was still on Chen Wanrou's side, and he chimed in, "Yeah, it's about time that you found a girlfriend and started dating. I remember many of your classmates are already married and have children."

Chen Wanrou knew that Gu Chaoyang was unreliable, so she smiled and asked Chu Sheng, "Mr. Chu must know a lot of people. I wonder if Mr. Chu has any eligible unmarried girls he could introduce to our Ah Heng?"

Chu Sheng really thought about it seriously, "I do have quite a few business partners, and I've heard that there are a few unmarried girls in my family as well."

"Dad," Chu Xiang asked innocently, "Are those business partners you mentioned people who frequent the clubs that only adults go to?"

Chu Sheng felt deeply wronged. "When did I ever go to a club that only adults frequent? Xiangxiang, who told you this rumor?"

Chu Xiang looked completely innocent. "That's what everyone's saying."

Chen Wanrou's smile became less natural. She had almost forgotten that Chu Sheng was a womanizer who sought thrills everywhere. Otherwise, he wouldn't have gotten a divorce. What good people could be his friends?

Of course, Gu Chaoyang is an exception and can be disregarded.

To be honest, as the first wife, Chen Wanrou couldn't stand Chu Sheng's extramarital affairs. Fortunately, Chu Xiang didn't go astray under such family education; otherwise, no matter how good the Chu family's conditions were, Chen Wanrou would not have accepted Gu Jue and Chu Xiang being together.

Gu Heng handed Chu Xiang a tissue to wipe her mouth. He looked at Chen Wanrou and said, "You don't need to think about arranging blind dates for me. I have already made plans for my life. I will definitely get married in two years, so please don't worry about me."

Chu Xiang looked up at him several times.

Gu Heng has never been one to make grand pronouncements. On the contrary, he is excessively methodical and always thinks ten steps ahead. The fact that he uses the word "planning" to describe him means that he has truly made up his mind. He will definitely get married in two years.

Chen Wanrou was puzzled. Gu Heng had never been open about the outcome before, but now he had not only been open about it, but also given a specific wedding date. Could it be that he already had someone he liked?

Gu Chaoyang said, "Alright, alright, Ah Heng knows what he's doing. He can do whatever he wants, however he wants. You don't need to interfere."

Chen Wanrou smiled. If there weren't outsiders present, she really wanted to have a serious argument with Gu Chaoyang to see who was right and who was wrong.

After the meal, Gu Chaoyang and Chu Sheng still had things to talk about in the study, so Chen Wanrou told Chu Xiang to sit on the sofa and have fun with Gu Jue while she went into the kitchen to prepare fruit.

Before leaving, Chen Wanrou gave Gu Heng a wink, signaling him to be smart and not disturb Gu Jue and Chu Xiang's time alone.

Gu Heng headed up the stairs. Standing on the steps, he turned back to look at Chu Xiang. "Xiangxiang, I have that book you just mentioned. Would you like to borrow it and take a look?"

Chu Xiang quickly replied, "I want it!"

She ran to his side in a few steps and followed him upstairs.

Gu Jue leaned back lazily on the sofa, took out his phone to play games, and thought to himself that it was so much quieter now that Chu Xiang, that noisy woman, was gone.

Gu Heng had moved out a long time ago, but the Gu family still kept his room. He didn't like others touching his things, so the furnishings in his room hadn't been moved.

Gu Heng opened the door to the room. He stepped aside, and Chu Xiang entered the room first. In the unlit space, only the moonlight streaming in from the window could vaguely reveal that it was a very clean and tidy room.

This was Chu Xiang's first time stepping into Gu Heng's room. She looked around with great interest, when suddenly she heard the door close behind her. She turned around, and before she could react, someone cupped her face and lifted it up, and a man's kiss landed on her.

His gentle advances deepened little by little, their lips and teeth intertwined, he swirling her soft little tongue around with utmost tenderness.

Chu Xiang was out of breath and could only lean softly against his chest.

He chuckled softly, "Xiangxiang, breathe."

Chu Xiang raised her arms to encircle his neck and buried her face in his chest; the little girl seemed to be shy.

Gu Heng lifted her up easily, supporting her buttocks. Chu Xiang looked like a little koala hanging from a tree. She quietly raised her face, her bright eyes excitedly staring at the man's chin.

Gu Heng carried her a few steps forward, and they sat down on a chair facing the floor-to-ceiling window. Chu Xiang's green floral dress draped over the man's suit trousers, the fresh green and deep black intertwining in a surprisingly harmonious way.

Gu Heng patted her head. "Xiangxiang, I'm sorry."

Chu Xiang lay lazily in his arms, as if she had no bones. If he hadn't been supporting her waist, she might have slipped and fallen to the ground at any moment. Hearing this, she tilted her head, the ends of her black hair swaying gently behind her. "Why should I apologize?"

"I mean it when I said we'd get married in two years."

"so?"

Gu Heng leaned down, very close to her, so close that he could see his face reflected in her eyes. "I should ask for your permission first."

She's still too young. Like all girls her age, she should only be thinking about enjoying the happiness that love brings. Marriage is still a very distant thing for her, and he didn't want to scare her.
