Chapter 55 Retrieving the Treasure and Returning Home~ Sang Zhitao was also startled...

Sang Zhitao was also startled. She turned her head and realized that the scream was coming from the last man to arrive.

She watched as the man leaned forward, his right hand outstretched as if to grab something.

He remained motionless in that position, his face filled with terror. The screams from before had disappeared, but his mouth remained wide open.

Besides Sang Zhitao, several other ship captains looked surprised and terrified, while bigwigs like Bayer had calm expressions, as if they were used to such scenes.

"Captain Bayer, what's going on with him?" Sang Zhitao asked Bayer without hesitation.

Those who heard her speak all looked surprised.

They didn't expect a newcomer like Sang Zhitao to be so bold as to speak to Bayer and act as if the two had a very close relationship.

“He broke the rules. In the Dark Vortex, the ownership of a treasure can only be decided after it gives its consent. If it is done in advance, this is what will happen.”

Bayer's unexpected affability made it even more unbelievable to those who knew him, who kept looking the two of them up and down.

Following Bayer's gaze, Sang Zhitao turned to look at the man, only to find that his body was being gradually swallowed up by a white light, as if the world had never existed.

Her face was a little pale, which was not mentioned in the original work, and she had almost reached for the beads just now.

Her lingering fear vanished in an instant, and her pale face disappeared as if she had misread it.

A strange melody rang in their ears, and the Dark Messengers climbed onto the beads, one standing on each bead.

"It's starting," Bill whispered, having already rowed the boat close to her.

Sang Zhitao smiled and thanked him first before looking at the central seashell.

Not long after the Dark Messenger jumped onto the beads, the beads scattered in all directions like a broken pearl necklace.

"Hurry up and grab it!" Bill reminded him, reaching out to grab a bead.

Sang Zhitao was stunned for a moment before she realized what was happening.

She didn't act immediately, but kept her eyes fixed on the beads that kept appearing and disappearing in front of her.

"Captain?!" Baron called out anxiously when he saw that she didn't move.

Sang Zhitao waved her hand: "You and Eureka can do as you please."

Seeing this, Baron said no more, stood side by side with Eureka, staring intently at the beads that appeared before them, and grabbed the items they wanted.

Sang Zhitao stared at it for a long time, until her eyes were dry, before she finally found what she wanted.

“Found it…” she said, reaching out and quickly grabbing one of the beads in the very short time it appeared.

The bead was somewhat dark in color, and inside there were no sparkling jewels or exquisitely crafted works of art, only a simple, rustic-looking wooden box.

But the faintly visible pattern on the wooden box was enough to prove that this was exactly what he wanted.

Having obtained what she wanted, Sang Zhitao felt relieved and finally had the mind to look at the people around her.

Only then did she realize that everyone around her was staring intently at the cluster of beads in front of them, and most of them were surrounded by more than ten beads.

Raising an eyebrow, Sang Zhitao stared at the beads in front of her, then casually grabbed a few and placed them in front of her.

The Dark Messengers then rolled to her side with the beads and began to circle around her.

At this time, Sang Zhitao also discovered that many people were grabbing treasures that could be sold for money directly, or books that could be exchanged with various royal families, while many sculptures and paintings were ignored.

Sang Zhitao stared at the increasing number of artworks appearing in front of her until she saw a familiar painting, at which point she perked up.

Sang Zhitao suddenly reached out and grabbed the bead that had almost disappeared.

She carefully placed it in front of her and examined it closely until she confirmed that the painting inside was exactly the same as the one in her memory. Only then could she not hide her excitement and greedily look at the group of beads in front of her.

About half an hour later, after all the beads had been divided up, the group began to look at each other.

Only then did I realize that Sang Zhitao was surrounded by the most beads.

"Sylph, what are you doing collecting these useless things?" Bill glanced at her and noticed that most of her items were handicrafts, his brow furrowing in confusion.

"Captain, nobody wants these things. They've always been thrown back into the sea as garbage," Barron said, leaning closer to her.

Upon hearing this, Sang Zhitao gasped, her heart aching slightly.

"You threw them all away?" she asked incredulously, her voice so sharp that everyone around her turned to look.

"Is this girl stupid? What's the use of these things?" The captains nearby began to murmur amongst themselves.

"Newcomers are always greedy; they'll regret it once they get out there," the people around him agreed.

“These are treasures.” Sang Zhitao twitched the corner of her mouth and whispered to Baron.

Bill didn't hear her reply. He opened his mouth, about to offer some advice, but then his sharp eyes caught sight of a bead, and he paused.

“Everyone, if you have any sculptures, paintings, or other artworks that you don’t want, you can find jewelry or books that you want here and exchange them.” Sang Zhitao interrupted Bill’s attempt to speak.

"Really?!" a captain nearby asked doubtfully.

“Of course, I swear in the name of the captain of the Anling,” Sang Zhitao said with a smile.

Seeing this, the people around immediately became interested.

"I'll come and exchange!" a captain in the distance said, raising his hand.

Upon hearing him speak, the other captains joined in, raising the beads in their hands and shouting.

With Sang Zhitao leading the way, others who needed to exchange for items also started calling out.

The scene was as bustling as a vegetable market.

“Captain Sylph…” Bill was standing next to her, about to speak, when he was interrupted by the captain who came over from the side.

He could only stare nervously at a dull-colored bead next to Sang Zhitao, fearing that she might be swapped out.

Fortunately, things weren't too bad. The bead was too dull and remained hidden in a corner until the end, never being traded.

"Wait!" Just as Sang Zhitao and the others were rowing away, a loud shout came from behind them.

Sang Zhitao, who was lighting the beads, was startled and looked up to find that Captain Bernard of the Red Knife was rowing the boat and blocking her way.

“Captain Bernard? Is something the matter?” Sang Zhitao raised an eyebrow and looked at him.

“You broke the rules by killing someone in the no-war zone, so you can’t leave.” A cruel smile flashed across Bernard’s face.

"Killing someone in a restricted area? How dare they?!" People who were about to leave stopped what they were doing when they heard the commotion. It was quite a scene.

"What do you want?" Sang Zhitao looked at the other person indifferently.

“Anyone who breaks the rules can be killed by any of us,” Bernard said, glancing at the captains around him.

The group exchanged glances, their ambition and greed evident in each other's eyes, and in that instant, they understood each other's thoughts.

“Of course, those who break the rules should be killed.” The captain, who had just been exchanging things with Sang Zhitao in a friendly manner, suddenly had a malicious smile on his face.

"Is that so?" Sang Zhitao wasn't surprised that they would make a move, but she didn't expect it to happen here. However, she wasn't afraid, since she was confident in her own fighting skills.

As she fearlessly pulled out an iron rod, the people around her paused for a moment before one of them said incredulously, "How do you have a weapon?"

Sang Zhitao looked at him innocently and replied with a naive smile, "Because the iron rod isn't a weapon; it's the oar I use to pole the boat."

Upon hearing this, the man's lips twitched, he took a few steps back, and looked at Bernard.

Bernard had never seen the power of her iron rod, but he had witnessed the crew members she had killed, so he naturally dared not underestimate her.

However, what happened below was a thorn in his side.

With a whoosh, a large knife came flying.

With a somersault, Sang Zhitao dodged Bernard's attack.

With a light kick, the iron rod was caught by a pair of delicate hands, who then raised their hands to block the chilling knife.

Bernard quickly withdrew his knife, kicked the oar, and splashed a spray of water as high as a person on the sea.

Sang Zhitao subconsciously took a step back.

A flash of cold light appeared, drawing a beautiful arc in the air and splitting the water droplet in two. The blade's energy erupted, and the water droplet seemed to freeze in mid-air.

Sang Zhitao's expression changed. She jumped lightly and kicked a few times quickly until she dodged the blade energy. Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief, picked up her stick, and flew forward.

The blade's aura hadn't dissipated, and the water droplets were about to fall when Sang Zhitao interrupted them with a single blow.

"Bang!" A splash was heard, and the water sprayed high into the air.

Everyone looked at Sang Zhitao in surprise, then stared in disbelief at Berna, who had been knocked into the sea by Sang Zhitao with a stick.

For a moment, the scene was so quiet that you could hear everyone breathing.

Before long, ripples appeared on the sea, and a moment later, a splash of water rose up. Bernard, clutching his chest, floated up from the seabed and was pulled onto the small boat by his first mate.

Bernard looked at Sang Zhitao, then at the crowd, before saying, "This person has violated the rules and should be surrounded and eliminated according to the rules. Why aren't you making a move?"

Bayer of the Red-Haired Ship sighed softly, glanced at Sang Zhitao with a strange emotion in his eyes, and then said to the crowd, "Someone has already told me about this matter. It was the Red Blade who spoke ill of others and provoked us first."

"Captain Bayer!" Bernard exclaimed angrily, not expecting the other party to speak for Sang Zhitao, and then clutched his chest and coughed.

Bayer glanced at him before saying, "The Anling is a newly established force this year, so it's understandable that they don't know these rules."

“But!” Bernard was unwilling to let it go so easily.

Bayer gave him a warning look.

Bernard then realized that the person in front of him was none other than the legendary ruthless captain of the Red-Haired Ship, and immediately dared not say anything more.

“Since both sides have their reasons, let Captain Bernard choose any 10 beads from your shipment, and that will settle the matter,” Bayer said, interrupting as he thought of the matter he needed to discuss with Sang Zhitao.

Sang Zhitao raised an eyebrow and nodded indifferently. She had already handed the wooden box and beads to Eureka, so she wasn't afraid of the other party's choice.

Bill thought of the bead he was interested in and instinctively wanted to object, but seeing Bayer stopping him with his eyes, he could only sigh and give up, though his eyes remained fixed on the bead.
