Chapter 127 Meeting the Crown Princess, Toya, though accompanied by Sangzhi...
Although Toya followed Sang Zhitao frantically into the depths of the laboratory, her expression remained blank.
She frowned and turned to look behind her where the loud noise had come from, asking with a puzzled expression, "Weren't they the Crown Princess's people? Why are we running?"
Although Sang Zhitao is a child, her physical fitness is exceptionally good compared to someone like Tuoya who spends all her time sitting in the laboratory.
So when she finally reached the safe house deep inside, Toya was still panting heavily, her lips pale as she ran.
"Toya, hurry up!" Sang Zhitao called out anxiously as she saw several figures approaching quickly behind her.
This shout made Toya even more anxious, but her physical strength was limited, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't run any faster.
Toya felt the hairs on her back stand on end; her sixth sense was sounding the alarm, and she kept shouting, "Danger! Danger!"
Her glasses were covered in sweat, making it difficult for her to see Sang Zhitao clearly for a moment, but she could hear her urgent shouts. A sharp pain shot through her heart, and the sound of her heartbeat filled her ears like a drum.
Several men in black, armed with weapons, raised their weapons in unison when they saw Sang Zhitao.
"Bang! Bang!" Several gunshots rang out, and Sang Zhitao quickly rolled over.
Toya's body jolted, and her running legs swung even faster.
Taking advantage of the moment when Toya's figure blocked her view, Sang Zhitao quickly jumped up and pressed the emergency button.
Toya was somewhat surprised that she didn't hear any more gunshots, and her eyes instinctively swept towards Sang Zhitao.
At that moment, Sang Zhitao's petite body was completely blocked by her. She instantly realized what was happening, and with great effort, she managed to control her feet, which she could no longer feel, and forced herself to run in a straight line to completely block Sang Zhitao.
The man in black behind him frowned and immediately quickened his pace.
Just then, Toya finally reached Sang Zhitao. Seeing that she was only a few steps away from Sang Zhitao, she suddenly jumped and pounced on Sang Zhitao, carrying her directly into the safe house.
As Sang Zhitao entered, the door to the safe house closed instantly.
"Crack, crack." After a few sounds, the safe house was sealed off by steel walls, completely blocking the intruders' footsteps and weapons.
The men in black frowned and fired several shots at the safe house, shattering the door. However, behind the door was a seamless steel plate, and they couldn't penetrate it even after trying more than ten times. They had no choice but to contact their superiors.
"They've taken refuge in the safe house," one of them whispered to the person on the other end of the phone.
The man in black frowned, nodded in agreement, and said to the others, "The Crown Princess's people are here. Let's retreat!"
Sang Zhitao and the other person in the safe house breathed a sigh of relief after the gunfire ended.
"Why did they kill you?" Toya asked, puzzled.
Sang Zhitao was lost in thought when she heard her speak and suddenly came back to her senses: "They should be the emperor's men, but I don't know why."
"How can you be so sure you're not one of the Crown Princess's people?" Toya asked, even more puzzled.
Sang Zhitao looked at her in confusion: "Have you ever seen someone break down the door to pick someone up?"
Toya was silent for a moment before hesitatingly asking, "How did you see that?"
Sang Zhitao's lips twitched: "There are security cameras, didn't you know?"
Toya silently shook her head. Ever since she entered the laboratory, she had been busy working on the antidote and hadn't paid any attention to the rest of the laboratory's layout.
Sang Zhitao also thought of this reason and didn't say anything more: "Fine, you're definitely not as free as me."
"Are we just supposed to wait now?" Toya asked, frowning.
Sang Zhitao nodded: "I was in too much of a hurry at the time, so I turned on the highest level mode directly, and now even the signal is blocked."
"Well... we didn't know the Crown Princess and the others were coming," Toya frowned.
Sang Zhitao stroked her chin and recalled for a moment: "If I remember correctly, the safe house will decrease by one level every hour if it is not attacked. At the highest level, it will take about four or five hours."
"They shouldn't be waiting outside for four or five hours, right?" Sang Zhitao turned to look at Tuoya. "Tuoya, are you sure you notified the Crown Princess and the others?"
Toya nodded: "I wouldn't lie to you about that."
Seeing that she said that, Sang Zhitao didn't say anything more and picked up her phone to look at the novels she had downloaded in the past few days.
Seeing her playing obediently on her phone, Toya found a place to sit down and started organizing the potions.
Just as Sang Zhitao had expected, two hours later, the group quickly entered the village, led by a woman who looked to be in her early twenties.
This person was extremely beautiful, with delicate features, sharp eyes, and a distinguished demeanor. Judging from her behavior, one could tell that she must be someone who had long held a high position.
"Your Highness, something's come up." A handsome man walked briskly from the old house where Sang Zhitao lived and said in a low voice.
The Empress Dowager's expression turned serious, and she hurriedly asked, "What happened?!"
The man lowered his head slightly, a hint of respect flashing in his eyes: "We're too early; someone has already been there."
The Crown Princess frowned and glanced at him: "Let's go!"
The man respectfully turned and led the way, and the Crown Princess and her entourage quickly followed, soon arriving at the old house.
Looking at the damaged main house of the old residence, the Crown Princess glanced at the man, her brows furrowed with displeasure: "You didn't protect it properly?!"
The man quickly and respectfully replied, "I received the message and went immediately."
The Crown Princess gave him a cold glance, then led her entourage past him and directly into the main house.
The man wiped his sweat, let out a slight breath, and then quickly caught up with the group.
The Crown Princess's brows remained furrowed as she looked at the wrecked display shelves.
Seeing that she was about to leave with her entourage, the woman beside the Crown Princess whispered a word of advice: "Your Highness, be careful."
The Crown Princess nodded slightly, said nothing more, and waved her hand, summoning someone to lead the way.
At the woman's prompting, the man who started first quickly went downstairs.
"Guards officer." The Crown Princess looked at the woman who had spoken earlier, who was also her guards officer.
The guard bowed respectfully in response. She understood that the Crown Princess meant she no longer needed to punish those who hadn't done their jobs well, and she secretly breathed a sigh of relief. A hint of worry appeared in her eyes as she looked at the man leading the way.
Soon we saw the interior of the laboratory: the damaged door, messy footprints, and further in, the walls were riddled with bullet holes, especially the terrifying door to the safe house.
“A third-generation safe house.” The man went forward to check it out and quickly returned to report.
"How do I close it?" The Crown Princess turned to look at the man.
The man turned around and studied it for a moment before replying, "Highest level. Locked for five hours if no attack is made."
The Crown Princess breathed a sigh of relief and nodded slightly: "Let's make the arrangements."
Upon hearing this, the man quickly led the others to collect information from various places.
The Crown Princess, however, led her entourage on a curious tour of the laboratory.
When she saw the pile of white steamed buns in the kitchen, she couldn't help but twitch her lips. She always knew that scientists tended to live a rough life, but she never expected that Toya could be so rough that she could live on just these white steamed buns.
When she arrived at Sang Zhitao's bedroom, her pupils dilated in shock at the sight of Sang Zhitao's suitcase that she hadn't taken and the clothes scattered on the bed.
"No children?!" She turned sharply to look at the guard.
The guard was taken aback, then shook his head repeatedly: "I didn't report it."
The Crown Princess's expression turned somewhat unpleasant. She glanced at the guards before coldly ordering, "Prepare food."
The guard respectfully agreed and quickly went out to make the arrangements.
Sang Zhitao was reading a novel inside and couldn't help but yawn, but the safe house still hadn't opened.
Over there, Toya was sitting cross-legged on the ground, lost in thought, seemingly pondering something.
She wasn't in the mood to talk to her, so she turned to one side and lay down on the ground to sleep.
When Toya came to her senses, she realized that her friend had already fallen asleep, and she couldn't help but admire her heart.
Two and a half hours later, the seamless steel plates of the safe house gradually disappeared, and the damaged door finally appeared in front of Toya.
Toya was awakened by the sound of the steel cart. She glanced at the door unconsciously, but after her gaze moved away for more than ten seconds, she suddenly realized what was happening. She got up, picked up Sang Zhitao, and carefully hid in a corner.
Sang Zhitao was startled awake by her movements and instinctively wanted to ask a question.
Toya quickly covered her mouth and whispered, "Don't speak yet."
After waiting for a long time, they finally saw a beautiful woman walk towards the safe house and peek through the large hole.
"It's the Crown Princess's bodyguard!" Toya exclaimed in a low voice.
Sang Zhitao cautiously peeked out from behind her and saw the Crown Princess walk in.
Looking at that aggressive yet undeniably beautiful face, Sang Zhitao couldn't help but hold her breath and exclaimed in her heart, "A living, breathing top!"
"Your Highness!" Toya helped her up and carefully bowed to the Crown Princess.
When Sang Zhitao also acted rudely, the Crown Princess stopped her and waved her hand behind her.
Not long after, the guard came in carrying a food box.
She frowned slightly but said nothing, and directly took out the appetizing-looking food from the food box.
"You've had a hard time, go ahead and throw up." The Crown Princess sat cross-legged opposite her and pushed the food towards her.
Sang Zhitao instinctively backed away, her eyes filled with undisguised terror.
The Crown Princess didn't understand why there was such fear in her eyes, but she didn't think much of it, assuming that the child was a little scared when she saw her, and quickly hid behind her: "Go ahead and throw up, it tastes awful."
Sang Zhitao instinctively wanted to say, "It really tastes awful."
But before she could finish speaking, she quickly fell silent, realizing that the Crown Princess was speaking the normal language of this world, while she was speaking the upside-down language of this world.
"I've heard your news. What do you plan to do?" The Crown Princess glanced at her with affection, then turned her attention away from her and looked at Toya.
After Toya explained the matter in detail again, she said, "I have made the antidote, but Your Highness still needs to worry about how to administer it."
After she finished speaking, the Crown Princess could no longer hide the confusion on her face.
Toya was waiting for her answer and didn't notice the confusion in the Crown Princess's eyes.
Sang Zhitao quietly pushed the plate forward, carefully looked up at the Crown Princess, and seeing that she didn't understand, said, "She has been infected with the Orthogonal Virus."
His Highness then understood and whispered a few words to the guards.
The guard glanced at Toya subconsciously before quickly turning and leaving.
Toya stared blankly at all of this.
Sang Zhitao pushed the food further away before saying to Tuoya, "They haven't been infected with the virus. You forgot you haven't been detoxified yet."
Toya instantly understood and hurriedly opened her mouth to say something to the Crown Princess.
The Crown Princess raised her hand, interrupting her before she could speak, then turned to Sang Zhitao, smiling as she pushed the food in front of her: "Go ahead and vomit."
Sang Zhitao's lips twitched. She watched in despair as all her efforts came to naught. She sighed heavily, and with trembling hands, picked up a piece of the flower-shaped pastry with an expression of going into battle.
She stared intently at the pastry, mentally preparing herself for a long time, before finally swallowing it whole without even chewing it, under the repeated urging of the Crown Princess.
A sensation that was hard to describe—a mixture of sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, and salty—rushed into my nasal cavity, then flowed down my throat and into my abdomen.
Sang Zhitao covered her mouth, trying to hold back, but finally couldn't help herself. She quickly got up and ran out, leaving the Crown Princess looking completely bewildered.
Even the guard she bumped into looked at her with a puzzled expression as she headed straight for the restroom.
Not long after, the sound of vomiting came from the bathroom.
The Crown Princess's cold, sharp eyes swept over the guards.
The guard was so frightened that he hurriedly explained, "I did tamper with it."
The Crown Princess stared at her intently for a while before picking up a pastry and taking a bite.
The familiar taste filled her mouth, making her pause for a moment. She then looked at Sang Zhitao, who had floated back with a blank expression, with a puzzled look on her face.
Sang Zhitao stared in horror at the pastry in her hand, the feeling of despair seemingly returning to her mouth. She quickly covered her mouth and ran back to the toilet.
