Chapter 104 Waking Up to a New World: Sang Zhitao Did Not Tell Herself...

Chapter 104 Waking Up to a New World: Sang Zhitao Did Not Tell Herself...

Sang Zhitao didn't tell Mingming how she felt. What she wanted to say was that, looking at Mingming's furrowed brows and heavy expression, she thought for a moment but ultimately said nothing.

"You should go back early later, I'll take you." Mingming lowered her head, seemingly lost in thought, bit her lip, and said to Sang Zhitao.

Sang Zhitao hesitated for a moment, but didn't refuse, and nodded in agreement.

The opening party for the new company wasn't particularly lively. Under the soft music, everyone spoke in hushed tones. The music, with its slight noise, created a white noise effect, which made Sang Zhitao yawn.

After leaving her near the tea break, Mingming turned and went to find Senlan.

When Sang Zhitao had eaten about 70-80% of her fill, Mingming returned. She pinched her brow, looking worried, and said, "I'll take you home first."

Sang Zhitao swallowed the cake in her hand in one gulp, took a tissue to wipe it off, and then left with Mingming.

Sitting in the mobility scooter, the two walked towards the edge of the floating island.

Sang Zhitao looked at the tissue in her hand, rubbed it a few times with her fingertips, revealing the wood fibers inside, and paused.

Trees in the Bubble World only exist on a few floating islands and are extremely rare. Apart from now, she has never seen tissues made of wood fibers anywhere else, because destroying trees is a serious crime comparable to murder.

"Mingming, what is the Fate Choice System?" she asked abruptly from the passenger seat.

Mingming slammed on the brakes, ignoring Sang Zhitao who was being thrown forward by the impact. He just looked at her with his delicate eyes, a look of disbelief flashing in them.

Her surprise turned into sudden realization. She looked into the void, her voice filled with understanding, and murmured softly, "No wonder, no wonder... no wonder Patriarch Lan noticed you."

Sang Zhitao rubbed her forehead, looking at her with some confusion: "Who is Patriarch Lan?"

Even though she didn't reply, her eyes turned to the rearview mirror and saw two cars following behind. Her expression changed drastically, and she hurriedly stepped on the gas, ignoring the pedestrians on the road, and rushed forward recklessly.

"Mingming!?" This sudden movement startled Sang Zhitao.

Mingming licked her lips and said quickly, "I'll only say this once, listen carefully: if you fall into their hands, remember not to say anything."

Before Sang Zhitao could ask any more questions, a car blocked their way.

The two cars collided with a startling sound.

Fortunately, although the technology in this world is not as advanced as that on Earth, it attaches great importance to human safety, and all vehicles have taken the best possible measures to protect people in the event of an accident.

Even in such a serious car accident as Sang Zhitao and her companion, they only felt a little dizzy and were not seriously injured.

The cars that had followed behind stopped, and several men in black looked around before surrounding them.

Sang Zhitao, holding her dizzy head, glanced back and saw a familiar face appear in front of her amidst the blurry figures.

Before she could even remember whose face it was, she felt everything go black and she fainted.

In a daze, she felt someone lift her up, the hard shoulders pressing down on her stomach, making her feel extremely uncomfortable. She unconsciously frowned, her stomach churning uncontrollably.

Just as Sang Zhitao was about to vomit, she felt herself suddenly being thrown out, followed by a feeling of being suspended in mid-air, with the whistling of the wind filling her ears.

Sang Zhitao didn't know how long she had been falling, but she felt an indescribable pain and then she completely lost consciousness.

"Huahua, Huahua?" came a series of calls.

Sang Zhitao frowned at the noise and couldn't help but open her eyes, only to find that this was not her familiar bubble room.

This is an extremely beautiful room. The walls are painted in a magenta hue, and when the sunlight streams in, the entire room glows brilliantly red. The natural wood furniture is bathed in the magenta light, as if draped in a layer of magenta gauze.

A pleasant fragrance filled the air, making Sang Zhitao sniff it again and again.

She sat up, clutching her forehead, her hand resting on the bed. The soft, springy mattress caught her eye.

Only then did I realize that the bed I was lying on was actually made of plants as tall as a person.

The bed was emerald green, with delicate features, and the pillow had a few dark brown points.

Sang Zhitao stood by the bed, touching her chin, and it took her a while to realize that the bed looked exactly like a bear's paw succulent.

Before she could think it through, the shouts outside started again.

Sang Zhitao pushed open the door, and a fairytale-like scene rushed into her view.

Outside the door stretched an endless field of tulips, with pink, red, white, and yellow flowers standing tall on the vast land.

The huge flowers are carved with tiny, exquisite doors and windows, and every now and then, beautiful curtains flutter in the air above a few windows.

"Hua Hua!" The voice came from the ground.

Sang Zhitao looked toward the source of the sound and saw a handsome young man with black hair jumping and waving below.

"Coming right away," Sang Zhitao replied instinctively.

After closing the door, she touched her hand and frowned: "Am I... in the microscopic world?"

Thinking of the feeling of falling she had before waking up, and the bubbles that were no longer visible, she already had a guess in her mind.

“This doesn’t seem to be the beginning of the story…” Sang Zhitao frowned. The original book was a very short slice-of-life story, and this kind of situation was very common. She really couldn’t recall which part of the original story this was.

The call came from downstairs again. Sang Zhitao didn't waste any more time. After opening the wardrobe, she looked at the neat clothes inside, casually chose one to change into, and then went outside.

Looking at the spiral staircase leading down from the entrance, Sang Zhitao couldn't help but twitch her lips.

She finally understood why the original owner of the book was so determined to move to a different place; this tulip-shaped house was ridiculously tall.

After walking up about twenty steps, the steps disappeared, and in their place was a smooth slide.

She simply pulled a soft cushion out of the flower stem next to her.

Sang Zhitao placed the mat under her bottom, crossed her legs, and with a push of her hands, slid down the slide.

As she descended, the azure sky gradually disappeared among the vibrant tulips.

By the time she slid down to the bottom, the sky was almost completely obscured.

"Let's go quickly." The boy who had been waiting for Sang Zhitao was the original owner's best friend, a spirit living in the Rose Garden.

Ling held Sang Zhitao's hand and walked out, saying, "Someone said yesterday that there's a cleaning job in the Tulip South Garden today, the contract is 800, the two of us can probably finish it in a day, 400 each."

"Thank you for your help," Sang Zhitao replied with a smile, recalling the account in the original book.

Ling was the original owner's best friend. The two grew up together in an orphanage and worked hard together to save money to buy a small house.

Ling preferred the rose garden, while the original owner chose the cheapest tulip garden for the sake of a bigger house.

Knowing the original owner's dream of buying a large house with water lilies, Ling and many friends paid close attention to job opportunities around them, especially Ling who took the original owner to do odd jobs everywhere.

"Do we need to be so polite with each other?" Ling rolled her eyes at her.

“However, I understand why you want to change it. No matter how beautiful the tulips are, the ground is still cold and damp, just like no matter how beautiful the rose garden is, there are thorns underneath.” Ling sighed.

Sang Zhitao smiled but didn't say anything, only subconsciously looking up at the sky.

Ling glanced at her with some surprise, then looked at the sky, but quickly lowered her head again: "What's so interesting about the sky?"

Remembering a sentence the original owner had once said, Sang Zhitao smiled and replied, "I always feel that I belong to the sky."

Ling raised an eyebrow and clapped her hands: "Then let's work hard together and win the Water Lily Villa with the biggest view of the sky!"

"Great!" Sang Zhitao raised her hand and burst out laughing.

Ling couldn't help but laugh and agree.

The two ran forward hand in hand, their laughter echoing in the deep tulip garden where the sky was almost invisible.

“Brother… An’an is missing…” When Mingming woke up, she was already in the hospital. She coughed twice, looked at her brother, and said with difficulty.

Senlan was working on her computer with a cold expression when she heard her sister's voice and quickly put the computer down.

"I understand," Senlan paused, then replied in a low voice.

"Was it... was it done by the Lan family head?" Mingming felt a chill run down her spine as she looked at her brother's expression.

Senlan instinctively covered her mouth and glanced back warily.

Mingming understood from his actions, closed her eyes briefly, and then said, "What is the reason? Even if An'an knows everything, it doesn't matter..."

Senlan avoided her sister's questioning gaze, and after a long while, she sighed and said, "She's different. If she were just an ordinary colored bubble doctor, it wouldn't matter if she knew, but..."

"But... she might be the legendary miracle woman?" Mingming subconsciously lowered her voice, and before Senlan could speak, she quickly added, "But that's just a legend!"

"Who can guarantee it's not true?!" Senlan's low voice contained both panic and warning.

Mingming looked at her brother in silence, pursed her lips, and after a long while said, "Brother, even if her soul isn't An'an's, her body is An'an's, and she's my best friend..."

"...She's a miracle, nothing will happen to her." Senlan sighed, tucked the blanket in, and said softly.

"But... what if it isn't?" Mingming looked at him with pleading eyes.

Senlan touched her hair and said with difficulty, "In the end, we are just new-type rich people. How can we compare to those big shots?"

"Then...where is An'an now?" Mingming hesitated for a moment before slowly speaking.

“I saw them throw her down the skywell that day,” Senlan said, bending down to whisper in her ear.

Mingming's pupils dilated, and she instinctively gripped the blanket tightly. She opened her mouth, but all her words were lost in Senlan's warning gaze.

“The Daughter of Miracles… Perhaps only the Daughter of Miracles could come up with such a wonderful idea…” Mr. Lan, who was feared by them, sat in the magnificent hall and flipped through Senlan’s plan.

"Are there really women who are miracle workers in the world?" the woman in front of him asked curiously.

Mr. Lan gave a cold laugh: "Without the Daughter of Miracles, how could there be Sky City and City of Glimmer today..."

The woman said nothing, her gaze fixed on the rolling white clouds outside, and sighed deeply: "I hope the miracle lives up to its name."

Mr. Lan followed her gaze and looked over for a while before saying, "If we choose to believe in miracles, then we shouldn't question them."
