Chapter 23 Catching Fish
It's called a river, but it's actually just a fork in the river, formed when the river flooded in the past. However, due to the severe drought, the water level has been dropping. Crossing the river to the other side used to require a fishing boat, but now, as long as it's not windy, you can just build a bamboo raft and cross on your own.
Nuan Bao, who has no human rights, was put into a wooden barrel half filled with river water by his father. Yes, it was the same wooden barrel that the villagers used to carry water with their shoulder poles every day.
Warm treasure: (⊙㉨⊙)
Looking at Nuanba who was wearing big shorts, holding a bucket of water in one hand and swimming happily in the water, Nuanbao said he was too tired to complain.
"Dad, there are fish!"
Nuan's father tilted his head to take a look and saw that it was indeed a large river fish.
"Yeah, it's okay, I don't care, I won't bite!"
Nuan Bao: What? Is that what you mean?
"Dad, aren't you going to catch some fish? Fish meat should be delicious, right?"
Nuanbao said this suggestively.
Nuanba gave Nuanbao a meaningful smile, and then, Nuanbao knew why Nuanba turned a blind eye to the delicious river fish.
These fish are like spirits. They look stupid and don't even hide when people get close to them. But when you really want to catch them, they will disappear in a flash as if they are equipped with rockets.
Watching the large, plump river fish swimming past her bucket, Nuanbao's eyes watered with greed. She truly craved fish. In the last decade, water pollution had so severely damaged aquatic products that they had become zombie-like, so she stopped collecting fish. If you counted carefully, she hadn't eaten fish in over ten days.
I almost forgot that I still have treasures. Hehehe, I don’t believe that these fish will not dive into the bucket on their own this time.
A few minutes later, Nuanba stood in the water holding Nuanbao, looking confused. It took him a long time to find his voice.
"Baoer, what's going on?"
Nuanbao proudly puffed out her little chest, looking very smug.
"Hehe, Nuanbao is awesome! Dad, we'll have some big fish later! I'll make sure you're full!"
In just a few hours, four or five river fish weighing three or four pounds swam into the bucket.
Nuan's father was afraid that if there were too many, it would attract attention, so he quickly called a halt.
Well, about twenty pounds of fish is enough for several meals!
Nuanbao obediently took back the bucket where he had placed it and used a bottle of spiritual spring water as bait.
Well, Lingquan water is really good!
When the father and daughter returned home, their grandparents had already returned.
The two of them had been exposed to the scorching sun all day, their skin tanned red. Now they were standing under the shade of a tree, wiping their faces with wet towels to cool down.
Nuan's father saw the tiredness of the two elders and felt pain in his heart. He couldn't help but tighten his hand holding the bucket.
It seems that I have to find a way to get more meat to nourish my parents.
"Spring planting is almost over. Mom and Dad, you two can take a couple of days off and not go back to work."
As soon as Nuan's father opened his mouth, he was immediately met with a glare from his grandfather, who was disappointed in him.
"You think everyone is like you, that any work would cost you your life. If we were all like you, our whole family would starve to death!"
Nuanba sighed helplessly.
"I knew you would say that."
Grandpa's face became darker and darker, and he was about to get angry, so Nuanbao spoke up quickly.
