Chapter 8 The Truth About Bias (2/2)

"Why does this look so familiar?"

Grandpa took the necklace from grandma's hand and looked at it carefully.

"Baoer, tell me, where did you find this?"

"Under the chicken coop in the old house!"

Nuanbao did not hide anything and told her everything about how she followed her uncle's family to the old house and heard them mention the letter and jewelry.

"No wonder she suddenly ran out to save you that day. It seems she had it all planned!"

Grandpa held grandma's hand, which was shaking with anger, and his face looked very ugly.

He felt guilty about going to war so soon after his wedding, that he hadn't fulfilled his responsibilities as a father and husband, and that he owed both mother and son so much. So much so that for so many years, no matter how much the elder child got naughty, he'd turned a blind eye. Now, Nuan Bao's words were like a slap in the face.

"Old lady, I'm so sorry for you and the second and third brothers!"

Thinking about how his favoritism had caused the second son to become a live-in son-in-law and the third son to become a despised scoundrel, Grandpa's spirits suddenly sank. His eyes were red, his lips trembled, and after he apologized to Grandma with guilt, he rolled his eyes and fainted.

"father!"

"Father-in-law!"

“Old man!”

"Master!"

Everyone was shocked and hurriedly helped Nuan's father to lift the person onto the kang. Nuan's mother quickly ran to find the young doctor from the village clinic.

The young doctor was an intern from the town. He was okay at treating headaches and fevers, but he was shocked to see my grandfather lying motionless with a pale face and weak breathing. He hurried over to give him a quick check.

"Oh, Mr. Liu doesn't look well. My two moves aren't enough. How about we take him to the town hospital?"

When everyone heard this, their faces became nervous, especially grandma, who shook her body and almost fell to the ground.

Nuanbao quickly grabbed grandma's thigh and pulled her while everyone's attention was not paying attention to him.

Grandma thought Nuanbao was frightened, so she immediately forced a smile to comfort him.

"Good boy, Grandpa is fine. He's just too tired and wants to rest. He'll be fine tomorrow morning."

Listening to grandma's words that sounded like she was coaxing a child, Nuan Bao's movements stopped for a moment.

Sigh! Being a child sometimes really limits what we can do! For example, live sex.

"Grandma, I can save Grandpa..."

"Nuanbao, you, are all you said true?"

Nuanbao nodded vigorously.

A spark of hope instantly ignited in grandma's eyes.

That’s right! Her daughter Nuan Bao is a lucky star who has been enlightened by the headmaster. She must have a way to save the old man.

"Third brother, third brother's wife, your father must have been irritated by the old man and is now in a state of rage. This way, mother-in-law can help calm him down. You two should go to the forest or the mountain and dig some up and bring it back to boil for your father to drink!"

Nuan's father and mother were about to go out to borrow a car and money to take the old man to the hospital, but were stopped by grandma.

When they heard the task assigned to them by their grandmother, they were dumbfounded.

"Mom, you, you are not scared silly, right? The doctor said my dad..."

"Just shut up! You said it yourself, he's just a junior doctor. All he knows is theoretical stuff. What he actually knows isn't as effective as the folk remedies we have in the countryside."
