As is customary, the director praised several people.
Lian Cheng smiled and left the stage; her scenes for the day were over.
She appeared to be smiling, but her palms were sweaty.
They were afraid they wouldn't be able to act well and would ruin the original child star's reputation.
Shen Xiuyan appeared beside her without her noticing and helped her up.
"Take me over there to sit for a while."
Shen Xiuyan settled her in a chair and handed her some water.
