The yellow sparrow on the branch fell to the ground and coalesced into a beautiful little girl.
"That's right, if it weren't for Grandpa, we would have been arrested long ago."
The large black bird landed and transformed into a handsome man in black, nodding.
"Yes, that's right."
Upon seeing this, the plants and animals that had been discussing things together all materialized into human form, landed on the ground, and began talking amongst themselves.
Hang Suisui stared wide-eyed at the sudden appearance of a group of people dressed in bright colors.
"You've all taken human form too???"
To her surprise, her question elicited laughter from the crowd.
The mountain god smiled and shook his head at Hang Suisui: "They are just spirits who can condense into human form to deceive people, but they are not like you who have cultivated into human form."
Only when one cultivates their true form into a human shape with flesh and blood can they be called a demon.
The rest are merely humanoid forms created by consciousness; their original bodies remain unchanged.
Hang Suisui knew long ago that there were many sentient beings in this mountain forest. After all, if you stay in the spiritual energy for a long time, you will eventually become a spirit.
Unexpectedly, so many of them have cultivated themselves into spirits and monsters.
It's quite rare to be able to build one in an ordinary mountain forest.
Hang Suisui blinked, a hint of green light appearing in the corner of her eyes. She looked around at the group of brightly colored people standing next to her.
Sure enough, upon closer inspection, they were still their original forms in her eyes.
But she, as a demon, is different. Unless she wants to or exposes herself, no one can see her true form.
And Hang Suisui's original ginseng has no demonic aura.
This makes it even harder to discern her true form.
The old mountain god stroked his beard, and his face suddenly became serious.
“When I was asleep before, I didn’t notice the changes in you. Now that you have achieved cultivation, if you have nothing to do, you should try to stay in this mountain. I have set up a barrier on this mountain, so even if mortals come up to the mountain, they will not find your existence. The mortal world is quite wary of you now.”
Upon hearing this, Hang Suisui knew that this was the old mountain god's good intention, but she was not a pure demon.
She was ultimately going to complete the mission she had come here to accomplish.
"Don't worry, senior. I've been down the mountain all this time. I'll be careful and won't be discovered. Besides, ordinary people these days can't even tell. They don't believe we exist."
Unexpectedly, the old mountain god looked at her and shook his head.
Before the old mountain god could speak, the plants and animals around him were already chattering and trying to persuade Hang Suisui.
"You should listen to your grandfather. It's not that safe outside."
"Yes, yes, there's a powerful creature outside that catches monsters and spirits like us."
“If you get arrested, you won’t have any freedom; you’ll be controlled by them.”
"Yes, yes, they're really amazing. Their leader is just a mortal!"
"They seem to be a very old organization that has survived to this day."
"If it's not an organization, then it's not called the Spirit Suppression Division!"
"Yes, yes, they're called the Spirit Suppression Division. They capture everything that has developed sentience."
"Then you sign something with your seal, and you'll be under their surveillance forever."
"Yes, yes, if it weren't for Grandpa, who kept them from noticing what was going on inside, we would have been arrested too."
"They'll find out as soon as we leave here."
Upon hearing this, Hang Suisui frowned slightly: "The Spirit Suppression Division?"
Just hearing the name doesn't sound friendly.
The old mountain god stroked his beard and nodded: "Yes, every head of this Zhenling Division is a mortal, but they are all powerful figures. Although they are human, they are proficient in formations, strange arts, and knowledgeable about heaven and earth. Everyone in the division is either clever, strange, or spiritual."
Hang Suisui listened quietly to the end.
He asked thoughtfully, "Senior, can demons also be controlled by him?"
The mountain god looked at Hang Suisui and said, "Several hundred years ago, when there were still demons, they could do that."
There hasn't been a demon who could cultivate into a human in the past few hundred years, and he's not entirely clear on how the current Zhenling Division controls demons.
Hang Suisui pondered and said to the old mountain god, "I have lived at the foot of the mountain for a long time, and no one has ever seen anyone from the Zhenling Division."
She stayed at Yin Huaizhu's house and was very comfortable. No one came to disturb her, and she had never even heard of the Zhenling Division.
The old mountain god stroked his beard and pondered for a moment: "Perhaps even the current Zhenling Division wouldn't imagine that there are still demons who have cultivated into human form."
Since so much time has passed and no one from the Zhenling Division has come looking for her.
Hang Suisui stopped thinking about it and said with a smile, "Thank you for the reminder, senior. I will pay attention."
Before we knew it, the sky gradually brightened, and the clouds in the sky began to change shape.
The old mountain god gradually disappeared into the mist.
As soon as the old mountain god left, the remaining colorful creatures surrounded him.
The sika deer stepped forward and tugged at Hang Suisui: "Have you really cultivated into a human?"
Huang Que poked Hang Suisui's arm: "Are you really a demon now?"
The fragrant tree looked Hang Suisui up and down, asking, "How did you do that?"
"Yeah, how did you do that!"
"Can you teach us?"
"We've been here for hundreds of years, and this is the best we can do to get it to what it is now."
"Yes, it's really difficult."
Hang Suisui looked at everyone and asked, "Is this how you roll your hair?"
Seeing everyone's confusion, Hang Suisui smiled and changed the subject: "I am ginseng, have you forgotten? I was born and naturally have spiritual energy. Besides, I'm 3800 years old, and where are you all?"
