Hang Suisui went to the bathing area in the backyard and hugged the green clothes she had left behind.
Her clothes were made from leaves and couldn't be washed. She didn't want to lose her leaves, so she turned the white clothes Chen Xinyi gave her into the green clothes she was wearing.
The two pieces of clothing were swapped.
Hang Suisui stepped into the room. Lin Yu was still awake, sitting on the bed with his head down. The candlelight in the room flickered and dimmed, making it impossible to see Lin Yu's expression.
She turned and closed the door; the old wooden door slammed shut with a deep, resonant sound.
Lin Yu suddenly raised her head, her small face tense, her dark pupils following Hang Suisui as she entered.
Watching her put down her clothes, she placed the emerald green bamboo branch next to the peach tree branch.
Lin Yu's eyes moved slightly.
Did I just call him to go pick bamboo?
She also wants to plant bamboo?
Hang Suisui put the bamboo branches down, glanced at the peach tree branches next to her, and thought that she would make beads tomorrow. She turned around, blew out the candles, took off her shoes, and lay down on the outside of Lin Yu's bed.
Two small figures lay quietly on the bed.
The bed wasn't very big, but it was more than enough for two small children to lie down.
Smelling the unique herbal fragrance emanating from the little girl beside him, Lin Yu felt his heart calm down considerably.
After a while, just as Hang Suisui was getting a little drowsy, she heard Lin Yu's soft voice.
"You went to break off bamboo shoots?"
Hang Suisui softly hummed in response to the question.
"Um?"
"You like bamboo?"
She vaguely heard the word "bamboo".
"Um."
As the night deepened, the shadows of the trees swayed outside the window, and a few flashes of lightning streaked across the windowpane. The two people on the bed breathed evenly.
Outside the window, the rain poured down, accompanied by bursts of thunder, and the sound of raindrops hitting the ground was quite loud.
I slept soundly through the night, and the air after the rain was especially fresh and pleasant.
While eating breakfast, I listened to Mr. Chen and Chen Xinyi chatting about everyday things.
"The old jujube tree at the foot of the back mountain, for some reason, was struck by lightning last night. This morning, your Uncle Li told me that half of the branches on the tree were split off."
Chen Xinyi swallowed a mouthful of porridge and laughed, "I've never heard of such a strange thing before. Could it be that this tree is going to become a spirit?"
The father and daughter joked around while eating.
"That's right. I've lived for sixty or seventy years and I've never seen a spirit that has become a demon, hahaha."
Lin Yu continued eating quietly.
Hang Suisui lowered her head so low it was almost buried in the bowl.
She's never seen it either, but does that count if she's encountered it?
However, the jujube tree was struck by lightning!
Hang Suisui's eyes lit up; this was a rare and precious find!
This is a golden opportunity, don't miss it!
Right now!!!
Hang Suisui shoveled the last mouthful of porridge into her mouth, threw down the bowl, and jumped off the table.
He mumbled, "Grandpa, Auntie, oh, I'll be right back in a bit!"
If she didn't hurry, she was afraid the villagers would take the jujube tree and burn it for firewood!
Lin Yu put down his chopsticks and followed Hang Suisui's movements with his gaze until the small white figure was obscured by trees and turned into the path.
Lin Yu lowered his eyes and frowned slightly.
Hang Suisui followed the route given by the system and ran towards the foot of the back mountain, her two short legs almost kicking up sparks.
Early in the morning, people carrying baskets and bamboo trays began heading to town, and she couldn't avoid them.
After finally reaching the foot of the mountain, I saw a huge jujube tree in the distance.
Half of it is emerald green and bright red, and the other half is as black as charcoal!
Seeing that no one was around, Hang Suisui excitedly used her spiritual power to flash over and cling to the jujube tree.
The jujube tree is very large, with lush branches and leaves, and it is covered with bright red jujubes.
The lightning-struck lines spread across the branches, and upon closer inspection, one could feel the overwhelming yang energy emanating from them!
Hang Suisui's eyes shone brightly, darting around as she stared intently at the black branch lying on the ground.
The branches were split open, and the bark at the bottom was still connected to the other half that was standing.
Hang Suisui clung to the tree, holding onto the trunk tightly!
"Waaaaaahh ...
"Lightning-struck wood!!! Lightning-struck wood!!!!"
"May the old man bless me!!! Your apprentice has struck it rich!!!"
"Haha ...
The line between fish eyes and pearls is so thin, it's like being struck by lightning!
Hearing Hang Suisui's shrill, witch-like voice, 001 felt a chill run down her spine: "What the hell are you doing?"
Hang Suisui hugged the jujube tree, practically drooling: [This is divine! What do you know!]
A superior Buddhist artifact, priceless!
Lightning has been considered since ancient times to be formed from the condensation of the most yang energy between heaven and earth, possessing immense power.
Trees struck by lightning absorb the purest yang energy from the lightning, while evil spirits possess the purest yin energy.
Therefore, it is natural that trees struck by lightning are believed to have the power to ward off evil spirits and protect the home.
For ordinary people, peach wood is sufficient to ward off evil spirits, while Taoist priests use jujube wood for their ritual implements. For them, ritual implements made of lightning-struck wood are even more effective.
Encountering this kind of tree in reality is entirely a matter of chance!
There are also legends that these creatures, whether spirits or monsters, often attach themselves to plants and trees to avoid being struck by lightning after taking form. If they commit a crime, they will naturally be punished.
So lightning would deal with it, and the remains of these spirits or monsters, along with the energy of the lightning, would remain in the tree.
If the tree can sprout again next spring, then it has escaped a calamity and will be considered pure Yang.
