Side Story (3) The Reincarnation of the White Shadow

Ji Ruoru.

The Miss Ji who cried after arguing with her boyfriend in the back garden at Old Master Yin's birthday banquet.

"Master Daoist."

Hang Suisui handed her three sticks of incense and pointed the way.

"Prayers are here."

Ji Ruoru smiled as she accepted the incense, followed Hang Suisui's gesture, and knelt down on the Bagua cushion.

Today, Ji Ruoru has long lost her former naivety, replaced by composure and poise.

Hang Suisui stood in the courtyard, supervising Yin Huaizhu as he copied the scriptures.

She has had Yin Huaizhu copy a whole basketful of the Heart-Cleansing Mantra in the past few days.

For some reason, Yin Huaizhu has become increasingly restless these past few days, especially at night.

He used to be able to sleep soundly until dawn, but these past few days he hasn't wanted to sleep in the latter half of the night.

Her constant tossing and turning kept waking her up several times throughout the night.

Unable to resist any longer, she asked him sleepily, "Why are you tossing and turning when you're sleeping?"

He wouldn't answer when asked.

She ignored his second question.

He turned his back on Yin Huaizhu when asked three questions.

Unable to find out the reason, Hang Suisui didn't dwell on it. Not wanting to see the back of Yin Huaizhu's head, she turned around and fell asleep instantly.

The next day, before I even opened my eyes, I was greeted with a resentful remark.

"Heartless."

Hang Suisui was immediately displeased, saying, "Who's heartless?"

To show how much she cared about his inexplicable insomnia, she got up and dragged him to the main hall to copy the Heart-Cleansing Mantra in front of the statues of the Three Pure Ones.

I copied a whole stack of blank notebooks.

Another stack.

Another stack.

Another stack.

...............

Yin Huaizhu turned her wrist and wrote the last word on the notebook.

Just as I was about to put down my pen, a blank notebook was slapped down in front of me.

Yin Huaizhu looked up at the person standing beside her.

The sunlight shone on Hang Suisui, creating a slightly backlit effect.

"continue."

Yin Huaizhu: "..............."

Looking at the old bamboo basket at my feet, I saw a stack of notebooks inside.

What kind of mess has he made?

Hang Suisui bent down, took a bunch of things out of the bamboo basket, hugged them to her arms, and turned to go to the entrance of the main hall.

Those who come out after offering incense will receive a free copy, one for each person.

"Thanks."

Immediately afterwards, a slender hand took it.

Hang Suisui looked up and saw Ji Ruoru standing in front of her. She smiled and indicated that she was welcome.

"Mother!"

On the steps far away, a clear "Mom!" made Ji Ruoru turn around with delight.

"Xiao Bao!"

She took a few steps forward, squatted down, and hugged the little boy who rushed towards her.

The little boy was about three years old, with big eyes and a round face. His skin was probably like Ji Ruoru's, fair and cute.

The little boy nestled in Ji Ruoru's arms and pointed to the stone steps behind him: "Daddy's behind us!"

Ji Ruoru picked up the little boy and smiled as she looked at the tall man walking up.

The man was dressed in a black trench coat, completely covered up, and wore a mask, revealing only his handsome eyes.

One glance is enough to tell that the man exudes an air of nobility.

Hang Suisui's gaze swept over the man.

This person looks somewhat familiar.

Then Ji Ruoru said to the man beside her, "Take Xiaobao in and pray too. I've already prayed, and I'll wait for you in this courtyard."

Since we're already here, we should naturally go in and offer our prayers.

"good."

The man took the little boy from Ji Ruoru's arms, straightened Ji Ruoru's clothes which had been torn by the child, and then strode towards the main hall.

The naturalness they exuded unintentionally clearly showed that they had a very good relationship.

Hang Suisui, standing at the entrance of the main hall, couldn't help but take a second look.

This sound seems familiar.

As they passed each other, what made Hang Suisui's pupils dilate was a white bead worn around the little boy's neck!

Wanting to take a few more glances, they had already entered the main hall.

Hang Suisui looked at Ji Ruoru strolling in the courtyard, and after thinking for a moment, she went up to greet her.

"Judging from this young lady's appearance, she has a loving husband and two children; she is a blessed person."

Having both a son and a daughter?

Ji Ruoru bowed in return, glanced at the main hall, and replied with a smile, "Master is right. Since we got married, things have only gotten better and better for us."

She and her current husband were arranged by their elders. Originally, she had no feelings for him, and even heard before the marriage that he had a lover he couldn't have.

Ji Ruoru even made plans to maintain a facade of being husband and wife.

Unexpectedly, after getting married, the two gradually came together. The other person was good in every way, from his character to his appearance. He went from respecting her at the beginning to loving her now.

"Having both a son and a daughter, I wonder what the master means by that?"

Hang Suisui's gaze fell on Ji Ruoru, and she nodded with a smile.

"I wonder what the name of that little boy was? I can tell his fortune."

Ji Ruoru, who was stroking her lower abdomen, looked up and said, "Her name is Xu Tong."

Tong, belonging to the element of fire in the Five Elements theory, represents the rising sun, bright and shining.

The negative energy from the previous life has been completely swept away.

Hang Suisui smiled and nodded: "It's a good name, it will surely bring you a smooth life."

Hearing this, Ji Ruoru was very happy: "When Tongtong was born, he was holding a white bead wrapped in a glowing light in his hand. We all felt that he was a gift from heaven."

A small figure ran over.

"Mother!"

Ji Ruoru looked down at Xu Tong, who was hugging her leg, and pinched his little cheek: "Little Bao came out so quickly."
