Chapter 102 Quarrel
Qiao Susu was about to go out with her skirt lifted, but Liberi grabbed her wrist.
"Sui Sui, let me talk to him."
She shook her head and refused, saying, "I need to find out for myself."
Liberi didn't want her to meet Zongfang, but he didn't want to refuse her, so he had to ask someone to arrange a reception room. When he led her to the reception room, Zongfang was already getting impatient. After the door was opened, Zongfang's eyes fell on her hand holding the man's arm.
He lowered his head and laughed at himself, his silver eyes fixed on her, and he gritted his teeth and said, "How could I forget that you will never be lonely wherever you go."
Qiao Suisui didn't want to pay attention to his sarcasm and asked directly: "Did you arrange the press conference?"
Munakata frowned and smiled even more sarcastically.
"I haven't seen you for over a week, and that's all you're asking me?"
His chest heaved uncontrollably, and a nameless anger rose to his throat. Zong Fang lowered his voice and said coldly to Liberi, "Get out. I want to talk to her alone."
Liberi remained unmoved until Qiao Suisui gently tugged at his sleeve, then he nodded in agreement. Before leaving, he deliberately kissed her earlobe in front of Zong Fang and whispered in her ear, "I'll wait for you outside. Call me if you need anything."
Qiao Susu nodded, lowered her eyes and didn't dare to look at Zong Fang, not noticing that he was staring at her hands.
"Where's the ring I gave you?" His voice trembled slightly.
Qiao Suisui paused and said, "I left it in the small building last weekend."
Her hand had been burned by the spilled hot pot. It was Luka who noticed a small blister while applying medication. He took it off while applying ice and left it by the bed. The next day, she was late and in a hurry, so she forgot to put it back on. She thought she'd be able to pick it up when she returned to the building that weekend, but she wasn't prepared for the series of events that followed.
Even though she was in a bad mood at the moment, Qiao Susu decided to explain a little more to avoid him misunderstanding.
"I didn't take it off on purpose. I wanted to go back and get it this week, but..."
Munakata sneered from his nose and interrupted her: "So you don't plan to come back to our house this weekend?"
The anger she had suppressed in her heart was ignited by these words, and she asked back, "Do you think I'm wrong now?"
The atmosphere took a sharp turn for the worse.
The man's lips were pursed, his jaw was set in a straight line, and his eyes were practically blazing with fire.
"Qiao Suisui, is it true that if I don't look for you, you won't even remember that I exist?"
He'd been living in a daze these days, barely closing his eyes. If she'd looked closely, she'd have noticed he looked a bit worn out. The stubble on his chin, the weariness and torment in his eyes—all different from his usual self. But the first thing she asked was what the hell was this press conference?
Sometimes Zongfang really wanted to bite her to death.
"If you still intend to keep talking like this, then let's communicate at another time." Qiao Susu turned to leave, and Zong Fang pulled her in front of him.
"Why, are you fed up with it now? I'm no better at talking than your other men. I coaxed you so hard that you couldn't even tell my sincerity."
"Let me go!" Qiao Suisui felt as if they were back at the research center. She shook him off with all her might and kicked his calf. Zong Fang didn't dodge, letting her hit him. Then he easily grabbed both of her hands and reached over to cover her mouth in anger, only to be bitten hard by her.
Qiao Susu closed her eyes tightly, wishing to vent all the frustration she had been feeling for days.
The man frowned in pain, but still refused to let go. He put his arms around Yingying's waist, which was smaller than a hand's, and leaned over to press her against the wall and kissed her.
Noticing that she was having trouble breathing, he reluctantly let go. Panting, his eyes red, he held her hand against his chest, gritting his teeth as he said, "Reach in right now, dig my heart out, and take a good look. Do you think I'm being completely devoted to you? What about you? Where do I rank in your eyes? Or do you simply not care about me as long as I'm not around?"
Qiao Susu's eyes turned red. She wanted to retort, but suddenly felt a sharp pain in her abdomen.
Zong Fang saw that her little face turned pale in an instant and her lips lost all color. Then his expression froze and he frowned and called her.
"Qiao Qiao?"
"Don't scare me, Qiao Qiao."
He picked the man up and shouted for help. After taking a few steps outside, he saw a trail of blood dripping on the ground.
"Qiao Qiao, Qiao Qiao, please don't scare me. Talk to me and tell me where it hurts."
Zongfang didn't dare to move her, so he knelt on the ground and held her in his arms, calling her name over and over again. Seeing that she had fainted from the pain, he shouted heartbreakingly to Liberi who came in: "Look at her! Come and see her!"
Liberi rushed over and carried the person away, but Zongfang refused to let go.
"You want her to die?" Libery growled.
Zongfang suddenly came to his senses and let go, his hands shaking.
The medical team quickly set up equipment by her bed, and Liberi continued to use healing methods to help her relieve the pain, but the bleeding continued to increase.
"The heart rate has dropped."
"All the vital signs dropped too quickly."
"Out of survival instinct, the cubs are stealing nutrients from their mother."
"Give the baby an abortion shot, and the adult will survive."
Hearing the medical team's words, Zongfang's head buzzed. He looked at the pale figure lying on the bed, his heart aching and almost suffocating.
"But if we take the baby out now, there's still a chance that the baby will survive," said a doctor.
"But the baby isn't born prematurely at all." Another doctor questioned.
Liberi grabbed one of them by the collar and said, "I don't care what happens to the child, I want you to save her first!"
The doctors nodded in agreement.
"Help me get the baby out."
Qiao Suisui's weak voice sounded behind her. Liberi hurried forward and held her hand. His voice was a little unstable because of fear, but he still coaxed her gently: "Suisui, we can still have the baby. Let's listen to the doctor first, okay?"
"Let them help me take the baby out."
Qiao Susu said this persistently, and a tear rolled down the corner of her eye.
Labrie's throat choked as she watched her declining vital signs on the instrument, knowing that any further delay would increase the risk. But the doctors looked at each other, no one dared to make such a decision.
"I'll do it."
Zongfang had completed the disinfection at some point, and was now holding the syringe in his gloved hand.
Qiao Sui Sui looked at him in disbelief, tears streaming down her face. With her last bit of strength, she cried out to him, "Zong Fang, that's your child!"
Zong Fang didn't answer, nor did he look at her. His fingertips trembled slightly, but soon stabilized.
He couldn't look at her. If he looked at her and saw her tears, he was afraid that he would collapse.
Qiao Susu struggled to prevent him from giving her the injection. Liberi hugged her with heartache and kept coaxing her softly.
"No. Zongfang, please don't."
Every cry of hers touched Ling Chi Zongfang's heart.
