Chapter 146: Munakata's Love
He was worried about how she would survive in this cruel world?
He was worried that one day she would find out that his father was responsible for these crimes, and how she would view him then.
He was worried that their children would grow up to aspire to become heroes of the Federation. How could he explain to them not to become accomplices of evil?
Zong Fang hugged Qiao Susu tightly, feeling complicated and confused.
A sudden male voice interrupted them: "That's about it, we've been hugging for 12 seconds."
Karl stood behind the two of them, as if he was allergic to this romantic scene. He said with an unhappy look on his face: “Are you serious this time?”
Zong Fang simply ignored him and just looked down at Qiao Susu, raising his hand to tuck her windblown hair behind her ears.
Karl, who was ignored, raised his eyebrows and said, “It seems that this time it’s true.”
Zong Fang took Qiao Sui Sui's hand and intertwined their fingers, saying, "Come with me to a safe place first. The southern battlefield is not safe at night."
Qiao Suisui nodded and said, "Karl is injured. Do you have a medical kit?"
Zong Fang lowered his eyelashes, paused for a few seconds, suppressed the jealousy in his heart, raised his eyes again and scanned Karl coldly up and down before saying, "Yes."
The three of them arrived at a suspended shelter. The building looked like a cliff from the outside, but once inside, they discovered a different world. It could float freely in interstellar space, and inside, it served as a temporary residence, complete with sleeping pods and dining facilities.
"We can observe the situation in all directions from here. The field of vision is very good. We can attack or defend." Zong Fang explained to Qiao Susu.
She looked around and asked many questions like a curious baby. Zong Fang answered them with a smile. The two of them looked like a young couple who had just moved into a new house and were looking at a house.
Carl, like a middleman who couldn't make a profit from the price difference, followed behind with his arms folded and a look of displeasure on his face. It was clearly a movie about three people, but he couldn't have a name.
"Do you feel any discomfort?" Zongfang carried her to the sleeping cabin and carefully examined her from head to toe. He frowned when he saw the scrapes on her arms and knees. "When did it happen?"
Qiao Suisui didn't know exactly how it happened, so she simply told Zong Fang about Wei Shou's time with them over the past few days. "He blew up the underground experimental base. I think it was caused when Carl and I escaped. It's okay, it's all scabby."
Zongfang's hand cupped her knee. Her jade-white calf was covered with scratches and bruises of varying sizes. Though the scrape on her knee had scabbed over, the wound was still quite large, evidently inflamed due to lack of immediate attention. Zongfang gritted his teeth, wishing he could resurrect Kui Shou and kill him a thousand times over.
Her skin was naturally delicate, and he always controlled the strength when touching her in the past, not to mention that he never gave her the chance to bump into anything in daily life. When he thought about how much suffering the person he had taken such good care of had suffered on this trip, Zong Fang felt like his chest was about to explode.
"Did you bring her here?" Zongfang looked at Carl.
Carl, who was suddenly called out, was disinfecting the wound on his back alone. After hearing what Zongfang said, he looked around, pointed at himself and said, "Can you see me?"
Zong Fang was extremely impatient, but he endured it, not wanting to show it in front of Qiao Sui Sui. He said, "Her wound is inflamed, did you know?"
Karl was startled, looked at Qiao Suisui's knees, lost the mood to tease, frowned and said: "It wasn't so serious yesterday."
Qiao Susu quickly said: "It's not Karl's fault. He applies medicine to me every day. It's just that the wound is really too itchy, and I... I always want to scratch it." At the end, she saw Zongfang's expression and her voice became smaller and smaller.
Zong Fang didn't say anything. He treated all the injuries on her body, big and small, and fed her two small pills.
"What's this?"
"It speeds up healing, and the other is to replenish the nutrients needed by humans. Have you not been eating well these days?"
Qiao Susu held the cup in both hands and nodded obediently.
It's not just that I didn't eat well, I didn't eat at all.
They came to the southern battlefield. How could they eat here? Even if she had the conditions, she never asked for food. She relied entirely on nutrient solution to survive.
Because Zong Fang knew her temper well, he was worried. Qiao Qiao looked delicate, but she was not at all delicate. She would never complain no matter what kind of environment she was in. The environment in the southern battlefield was so harsh that he couldn't imagine how she had persevered.
"You really are..." He gritted his teeth in anger and wanted to blame her, but no words came out when the words came to his lips. Instead, his heart was filled with the subtle joy of regaining what he had lost.
If she hadn't been so brave to come here, I wouldn't be able to see her now.
Zongfang stretched out his arms and embraced her, his movements gentle and cautious, as if he was holding a rare treasure in his arms.
"Qiao Qiao, can you take my talent away?"
Qiao Susu was startled and asked, "Why are you talking about this suddenly? You need the talent of self-healing more than I do, and you can't just get it." Her voice was as thin as a mosquito, and her face flushed when she thought of how to get the talent.
"I feel totally uneasy with you like this. Every day I'm here I worry about whether you'll get hurt. I always try to convince myself that at least you're safe in the Imperial Court. But you're so bold that you actually dare to come here." Zong Fang spoke faster and faster, feeling angry, anxious, and helpless.
"I know, don't be angry."
Zong Fang sighed, supported his hands on both sides of her body, rested his forehead on hers, and closed his eyes helplessly: "Why should I be angry? Is it useful for me to be angry? You have the best idea."
The southern battlefield was sparsely populated, leaving plenty of time each day. Zongfang spent most of his time thinking about her, and the rest of the time reviewing their relationship. After so many arguments and Scorsese's enlightenment, Zongfang now knew that if he wanted to win her heart, he had to go along with her. The more he tried to control her in the name of love, the further she would drift away from him.
Munakata gently lifted her chin, and they were so close that they could feel the heat of each other's breath.
"It was all my fault before. Can you give me another chance?"
Qiao Susu's breathing became a little disordered. She instinctively wanted to hide backwards, but stopped halfway. This time, Zong Fang did not chase her, but waited quietly for her answer.
Karl looked at the two of them and left with a cigarette in his mouth, feeling upset. He had seen it clearly a long time ago: as long as this man was by her side, no one else would have a chance to be with him. Sui Sui herself might not have realized that when she stood with him, that invisible magnetic field was something no one else could penetrate.
He finished a cigarette in a few puffs, but the irritation in his heart still couldn't be stopped. Carl simply took off his shirt, jumped off the floating shelter, and went for a run to cool off.
Inside the shelter, Zongfang waited for a long time but received no answer from her, and the emotions surging in his eyes dimmed.
The man used his strong and powerful thighs to open her originally closed knees, squeezed his waist between her legs, and supported one arm on the wall behind her, his voice low and sexy.
"Qiao Qiao, I miss you so much."
