Chapter 184: Love Engraved in Instinct
Several uniformed guards walked in rudely and dragged Qiao Suisui up from the ground without explanation. Her body seemed so weak in their hands, like a light fallen leaf.
"The leader wants to see you." One of the guards said coldly, without a trace of warmth in his voice.
Qiao Suisui struggled fiercely, an unyielding rage burning within her. She knew she couldn't just sit there and wait for death. Using her last remaining strength, she pulled the Emei Spear from her system and fiercely stabbed one of the guards. The man screamed and fell to the ground, blood gushing from the wound, staining the ground red.
But due to her pregnancy and long-term weakness, her hands and feet were weak and she was pinned down by the other three people. Her struggle seemed so powerless.
"Let me go! Let me go!" Qiao Suisui struggled desperately, her eyes filled with despair and anger. Her voice echoed in the empty room, carrying a trace of broken hope.
"Be quiet!" A guard raised his hand to slap her, but was stopped by another. "What if the leader investigates?"
The man cursed, but finally put his hand down, grabbed Qiao Susu's arm roughly, and dragged her out of the room.
Just as she was being dragged out of the room, Anubis next door suddenly opened his eyes. Those deep eyes were filled with confusion and pain, as if awakened from a long nightmare. Although his memories were hazy, everything he knew about Qiao Sui Sui seemed etched in his bones, and every cell in his body was calling out her name.
His heart felt like it was being clenched, and a sharp stabbing pain came from his chest, as if something was tearing his soul apart. Countless fragmented images flashed through Anubis's mind: Qiao Suisui's smiling face, her gentle voice, her tears... All of this suddenly flooded his mind, making it almost impossible for him to breathe.
"Sui Sui..." He murmured softly, his voice hoarse and painful.
As if by instinct, his body began to transform. His bones crackled, his muscles expanded rapidly, and the blood vessels beneath his skin burned like flames. His nails grew longer, sharp as knives, and his eyes turned red, filled with a feral light.
He took on wolf form, his black fur gleaming with a cold sheen in the dim light. Anubis growled, his voice deep and menacing, like a roar from the depths of hell.
Then he began to bang on the iron door frantically.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Each impact was met with immense force, bending the iron door and creaking harshly. The chains on the wall groaned under the strain. Anubis's eyes were bloodshot as he roared madly, his fangs gleaming coldly in the dim light.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
He slammed the iron door again and again, the dents growing deeper and deeper, as if he could tear it apart at any moment. Anubis's breathing quickened, the pain in his chest driving him even more furious. His roars echoed in the small cell, filled with endless rage and despair.
Finally, the iron chain around his neck broke in a violent collision, and the iron door was also cracked open by him. Anubis pulled hard, and the iron door fell to the ground. He rushed out of the cell with only one goal in mind -
Before the guards could react, Anubis pounced upon them, lightning-fast. His claws gleamed a streak of cold light as he bit into one of their throats. The man's eyes widened, and he let out a short, painful cry. Blood gushed out like a fountain, splattering against Anubis's black fur and staining the ground red.
Screams echoed through the corridor, tinged with terror and despair. The two remaining guards tried to resist, drawing the electric batons at their waists in an effort to subdue the raging beast. But they were powerless against Anubis's ferocious assault. Anubis's sharp claws and teeth, like the scythe of death, swiftly tore them into bloody shreds.
Qiao Suisui watched the scene in horror, tears welling up in her eyes, her eyes filled with surprise. Her vision blurred, but at that moment, her eyes inadvertently swept across the shattered iron gate, and instantly, many days and nights of mumbling to herself flashed through her mind. The mysterious neighbor who had always been by her side was actually Anubis!
Her heart trembled violently, shock, joy and complex emotions intertwined.
"Anubis..." She murmured his name with a trembling voice.
She saw the violent figure of Anubis and his blood-soaked fur. Each of his attacks was carried out with deadly force. Blood splattered between his claws and fangs, and the air was filled with a strong smell of blood.
Several guards soon died quietly in a pool of blood.
Qiao Suisui stood up with the help of the wall and tried to get closer to Anubis. Although her legs were shaking and could hardly support her body, and every step seemed so difficult, she had only one thought in her mind - to get closer to him.
Her fingers trembled slightly as she slowly reached out towards the bloodthirsty wolf.
"Anubis, it's you..." she whispered softly.
The wolf paused slightly, and a flash of something flashed in its crimson eyes, too fast to grasp. Although Anubis's memory was hazy, he instinctively knew that the person before him was extremely important to him.
He growled, his voice filled with pain and struggle, as if he was fighting a fierce battle with his own wildness. His breathing was rapid, and his chest rose and fell violently, as if every breath was suppressing the wildness in his heart.
Qiao Suisui did not flinch, her hand gently touched his head, feeling his hot body temperature and rough hair. Her fingers gently stroked the top of his head, as if soothing a wounded beast.
"Anubis, I'm here. You are not alone." Her voice was gentle but firm.
Anubis's breathing gradually calmed down, and his eyes gradually softened. He lowered his head and gently rubbed Qiao Suisui's palm, as if responding to her call.
Qiao Suisui looked at him tearfully. She had seen his beast form before, his once glossy fur now dry and matted, his massive frame thinned considerably. He must have endured a difficult time locked up. She didn't know what Anubis had been through, but seeing him initially not recognize her, then desperately trying to control his animal instincts and not harm herself, showed that his inner instincts were still fighting for her. For her, he was battling against his own instincts.
She gently hugged his neck, and the wolf that had been ferocious and bloodthirsty just now was now like a docile big dog, quietly letting her hug it.
The bodies of federal guards were scattered all over the corridor, the walls and the ground were covered in blood, and the alarm was wailing sharply.
Qiao Susu knew that someone would come soon and they couldn't escape.
She stood up holding her pregnant belly, and the wolf beside her also stood up. She slowly walked back to the room holding the wall, and the wolf followed her closely.
The guards who arrived later were so frightened by the sight of the broken arms and legs scattered all over the ground that they dared not move forward. One of them carefully came to check and saw that the girl was leaning on the wolf, curled up with her eyes closed to rest.
He was about to report it when he heard the girl's pleasant voice.
"Ask the leader to come see me."
