Chapter 83: Catching the Adulterer
Qiao Susu picked up the phone, and when Zong Fang saw her, a smile unconsciously appeared in his eyes.
"Where?"
"School, with my tutor."
She was also considerate enough to point the camera at Ajin who was standing straight. Ajin was stiff all over and forced a smile.
Zong Fang pretended not to have seen him and greeted him. The topic then returned to Qiao Suisui.
"Shall I pick you up?"
She blinked in confusion, then listened to the man's commanding tone, but fearing she would be unhappy, he added three words: "Tomorrow is the weekend, so don't stay at school tonight. Okay?"
After she came out, she felt that time had passed very quickly. It was indeed time for her to go back and deal with some things, so she asked, "You came here from Sote at midnight, right?"
Zong Fang curled his lips and said, "Come out, I'll be at the gate of your school."
Ah Jin exclaimed, "Wow, he's been waiting here for a long time. And he even asked if he wanted to pick him up. He was practically holding this ancestor in his mouth." Ah Jin really wanted to know what this man would do if Qiao Sui Sui rejected him.
Sure enough, the next second——
"Now?" Qiao Suisui frowned slightly and said, "No. I'm not done here yet."
Ah Jin heard his own inhalation. He quietly moved closer, pretending to look up at the sky, then glanced at the man's face on the screen. Surprisingly, the man didn't show any impatience or anger. He simply pushed his glasses, nodded, and asked, "What time is it? Aren't you hungry? Or is it that your instructor won't let you leave?"
Qiao Suisui shook her head, "It's my job that I haven't finished."
"Then I'll wait for you."
After agreeing a few words, Qiao Susu hung up the video call and saw Ajin staring at her as if he had seen a ghost.
He said to himself, "Did I make a mistake?"
Zong Fang's reputation was known throughout the Federation. He was no pushover, always tolerating others and never giving in to anyone else. Even Ajin, who had limited contact with him, could sense Zong Fang's extreme possessiveness of Qiao Sui Sui and his omnipresent desire to infiltrate every moment of her life.
But it was this man who came early to pick someone up, and when he was rejected he didn't say a single negative or accusatory word, and always followed Qiao Susu's wishes.
Ajin was feeling a little puzzled and was about to continue trying to persuade Qiao Susu when another message came in. This time it was his laptop that rang.
"Hello."
The person on the other end of the line was an unknown contact. Ajin picked up the phone and asked politely, but then heard a lowered voice on the other end: "I don't care what you're talking about, just end it quickly. If I don't see her in ten minutes, you can forget about your property in Sote."
After saying that, the opponent died immediately, leaving Ajin swaying in the wind.
"Teacher Jin, I still want to participate in this group practical training class."
Qiao Suisui had made up her mind. She could follow Ajin's instructions for everything else, but she absolutely had to take this class. What she lacked right now was real-world combat experience. Furthermore, abilities were honed through actual combat. This class involved forming teams in a virtual environment and engaging in simulated combat with the enemy. She had studied it carefully and knew the danger wasn't high. Everything was arranged by the school, and the enemies were set, so she could definitely participate for the training.
"Teacher Jin?"
Ajin, distracted, snapped back to his senses, no longer bothering to argue with her. He nodded repeatedly and agreed. "Let's stop here for today. I'll customize the other classes based on your needs and send them to you for confirmation before tonight. Oops, I remembered I have a meeting, so let's leave it at that for today."
Qiao Susu looked at Ajin who was leaving in a hurry, and stood there blinking.
After that, she returned to the apartment, intending to pack her things and go find Zongfang. When she passed by Anubis's room, she heard the noise of tables and chairs.
She knocked on the door and called his name, but there was no response. She waited for a while, but was still worried, so she opened the door and went in. She saw the tables and chairs scattered on the floor, and the bed was a mess.
A massive wolf pounced out and pinned Qiao Suisui to the ground. Its eyes were like obsidian, with black pupils surrounded by gold, emitting a deep ferocity and vigilance. Its body was covered in silver-gray fur, with its chin and chest intersecting gray and white. Its nose wrinkled, and a warning growl emanated from its throat.
Qiao Susu's heart was about to jump out of her chest. She froze on the ground, not daring to move, her lips turning pale.
Anubis's claws were on Qiao Suisui's shoulders. He arched his back and lowered his head to sniff her neck.
Qiao Suisui almost thought that the sharp teeth would bite her neck off in the next second, but it didn't. After sniffing her, the wolf took two steps back and put the paw that was originally pressing on her on the ground.
Qiao Susu, who thought she was dead, saw the sturdy gray wolf fall to the ground the next second. It lay on its side, its abdomen gasping for breath, and it seemed to be in great pain.
Qiao Suisui stood up and timidly called out from a step away from him, "Bi?"
The gray wolf couldn't move, but after hearing her call, it looked over. Qiao Sui Sui immediately confirmed that this was Bi.
"What's wrong with you? Are you feeling uncomfortable? I'll find someone to help you."
She walked quickly to the door, but stopped because she suddenly remembered that werewolves were rare in this world, and that Bi's form was a wolf, but he had never revealed it during the entire test, which meant that he didn't want others to know, and might even be deliberately concealing it.
Thinking of this, Qiao Susu turned back and saw that he was still breathing rapidly, so she knelt on the ground and placed the wolf head on her knees to ensure smooth breathing.
"How can I help you?"
She was so anxious that her back was wet. She took out all the medical pills in the space and her own storage compartment and placed them on the ground. She was about to try to treat him, but she saw a flash of white light, which was so bright that she couldn't open her eyes.
A few seconds later, the gray wolf that was originally resting its head on his knees turned into a naked young man.
Anubis was still panting. He was trying to regain control of his body, but he found it difficult to move a finger. He lay on his side, his head resting on her legs, struggling to say something.
Qiao Suisui froze in place, forgetting to move. She first stared at the boy's two tattooed arms hanging limply at his sides, the muscular curves of his back visible from this angle, his sunken waist and long, powerful legs, all brimming with hormones.
Suddenly, the door opened.
Zong Fang's hand on the door suddenly tightened. He saw the scene in front of him and suddenly smiled. The smile was icy cold and his eyes were full of murderous intent.
He practically squeezed out the words through his teeth: "Is this what you mean by not finishing the work?"
The plot chapters are almost over, and now I'm going to focus on the Shura field and the loveline. I need everyone to do one thing, which is to vote for recommendations, because this is the author's most direct source of motivation. I'm sorry for the trouble. Bow.
