Chapter 186 I Love You

Anubis's words were intermittent, but they were like a vow engraved on Qiao Suisui's heart, each word weighing a thousand words. She hugged him back tightly, and in the dim room, their heartbeats intertwined into a melody of life, as if they had found a glimmer of hope in despair.

A flash of determination flashed in his eyes, knowing he couldn't fall here. Anubis hastily put on a loose prison uniform and, ignoring the pain raging in his body, forced himself to stand. Qiao Suisui held his hand tightly. She could feel the strength in his hand, his silent promise to protect her.

They moved silently to the door, Anubis' ears twitching slightly, picking up the sounds outside. The guards' footsteps echoed in the corridor, and they had to be careful not to let the guards discover their tracks.

Anubis gestured for Qiao Suisui to wait. He gently pushed open the door and observed the situation outside. The guards seemed oblivious to this corner; they were busy disposing of their companion's body. Anubis seized this opportunity and used Dark Hunt, enveloping the guards in darkness. He then nodded to Qiao Suisui, and the two began to move stealthily along the wall.

Walking through the dim corridor, Anubis took every step carefully. His legs trembled in pain, but his will was firm, and he suppressed his groans with every breath. Qiao Suisui held his hand tightly, her palms sweating with nervousness.

They came to a fork in the road, and Anubis stopped and listened carefully. The left corridor was filled with the sound of guards talking, while the right corridor was completely silent. Anubis decisively chose the right path.

Just as they turned the corner, a beam of light suddenly swept over. Anubis quickly pulled Qiao Suisui into a dark room nearby, his heart pounding in his chest. The guards' footsteps were getting closer, and they held their breath, waiting for the danger to pass.

Only after the guards' footsteps faded did Anubis and Qiao Suisui dare to set out again. They quickened their pace, but Anubis's injuries slowed his movements. Qiao Suisui looked at the beads of sweat on his forehead, her heart filled with worry, but she knew now was not the time to stop.

They finally reached an open square, at the end of which was the gate to freedom. But in front of the gate was a long flight of stairs. Anubis took a deep breath and began to climb up, step by step, even though each step felt like walking on a knife's edge.

Qiao Suisui followed closely behind, her heartbeat accelerating with Anubis's pace. They knew that once they reached the top, freedom would be just around the corner. But just as they were about to reach it, a dazzling beam of light struck from the darkness. Anubis suddenly hugged Qiao Suisui, using his body to block the attack for her.

His left leg was shattered in an instant, and he lost his balance and fell heavily on the stone steps. Qiao Suisui looked back and saw Anubis struggling in pain, but there was no fear in his eyes, only deep worry for Qiao Suisui.

"Go! Go!" His voice sounded so weak, yet so resolute in the empty square. He tried to stand again, but another attack struck his right leg hard. Anubis fell to the cold stone steps, every breath accompanied by excruciating pain.

Qiao Suisui's tears fell like pearls from a broken string. She didn't want to leave, didn't want to give up. Anubis, using his last bit of strength, began to climb up using his arms to drag himself up. His fingers left blood marks on the stone steps.

Qiao Susu supported him as he moved forward, but the two were surrounded by guards who rushed over from all directions. Five or six people came up and pulled them apart, clamped Qiao Susu, and made her unable to move.

"Compare"

Qiao Sui Sui turned around to see Anubis lying on the ground, surrounded and kicked by a group of people. She screamed in pain to stop them, but it was of no use.

She tried to break free, but all her weapons were in Zongfang's space, unable to be opened here. If she used her mental power while pregnant, the same situation would occur again. But Qiao Suisui couldn't bear to watch Anubis get beaten. She bit the guard's hand with her teeth, trying to break free.

Anubis shielded his head with his arms, peering through the crowd at Qiao Suisui, who was being held tightly by the guards. A strong urge surged in his heart, wanting to rescue her from danger. But he knew he no longer had enough strength to fight, and every movement he made seemed to be using up the last of his energy.

"Dark Hunt."

He used up his last bit of strength to pull the group of guards who were beating him into the darkness, but he no longer had the strength to fight.

Anubis endured the severe pain and struggled to crawl towards Qiao Suisui with his arms. He stared straight in the direction of Qiao Suisui, and every step he took left a trace of blood. His arms were shaking, and his strength was almost exhausted.

He looked at her deeply, his eyes filled with love, pain, and reluctance. He opened his mouth, as if wanting to say the last words, but only a faint breath escaped.

Qiao Sui Sui struggled to hug him, but was held tightly by his iron-like hands. She cried and said, "Forget it, Bi, we won't go out anymore."

But Anubis still didn't give up. He dragged his body with his arms and moved forward bit by bit. Qiao Suisui looked at his figure, her heart aching.

"Let her go." His voice seemed to be squeezed out of his throat, and veins on his forehead bulged with pain.

Qiao Susu cried and screamed, and because she was too sad, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her abdomen.

She stroked her belly, and the amniotic fluid flowed down her thighs, and then she felt a contraction.

Finally, Anubis reached the steps where Qiao Suisui was, his arms trembling and his strength almost exhausted.

The next second, a strange man in the uniform of a senior federal officer appeared and stepped on Anubis's hand with his leather shoes.

Qiao Suisui struggled to push him away, but no matter how much she cried and screamed, it was no use. She watched as the man kicked Anubis away, and the boy's body tumbled down the stairs, his chin hitting the ground hard, and his whole body looked like a discarded rag.

"Bi!" She clutched her chest, barely breathing, sobbing until she lost her voice. Waves of intense abdominal pain rippled through her back, weeping. She curled up on the steps, clutching her stomach, her eyes red from crying.

Everyone thought that Anubis would never wake up again, but after lying motionless for a while, the young man struggled to get up again, and with his blood-stained hand he climbed up the stairs again, one step at a time.

Then, he slowly raised his hand, his fingers trembling as they stretched out one by one. Qiao Susui held her breath, watching his fingers. Every movement seemed to exhaust his last bit of strength. When the first finger dropped, Qiao Susui's heart suddenly tightened. When the second finger dropped, her tears welled up again. When the last finger slowly fell, Anubis's hand drooped weakly.

No one present knew what this meant, but Qiao Susu, who was already in tears, knew.

Three fingers represent three words in turn.

I love you.
