Chapter 10 Can I take care of you?
Qiao Susu got goosebumps all over her body, gently brushed his hand away and changed the subject.
"How long will it take for Luka to come back? I want to leave."
Of course, Liberi wouldn't let her stay and wait for Luka, so she was carried aboard the ship. He took her to the busiest shopping district, and Liberi ordered the entire area cleared. After buying shoes, Libery suggested matching accessories in several styles. He wanted to take her to buy jewelry, but Qiao Suisui was too embarrassed to let him continue paying. So, she used the excuse of being tired to drag him out for tea, this time on her behalf. She looked up in a daze and saw Luka standing in front of her without her noticing.
The two men, one tall and one short, one standing and the other squatting, looked at each other silently.
Tears fell from the corners of her eyes as she tilted her head back. She stared blankly at the bruises on Luka's eyes and cheeks, forgetting her sadness for a moment.
Suddenly, she felt a heavy weight on her head, and a faint smell of tobacco mixed with the clear smell of mountain spring water enveloped her.
Luka gently draped the military jacket in his hand over her head. The jacket, which originally fit her well, seemed particularly large on her petite body, covering her completely.
"That way no one will see you cry."
Sui Sui was stunned, hugged herself, grabbed the corner of her coat, and cried more unrestrainedly.
She knew that if she really let herself cry, the sadness would not last that long. The emotions that would have passed if she had held them back were now uncontrollable because of the warm concern.
Luka stood there, hearing her soft sobs, so cautious, that he felt a sharp pain in his chest. He exhaled and reached for a cigarette, but then remembered she was pregnant, so he tossed the entire pack into the fountain.
She heard a "bang" and looked up. She didn't know what he had thrown in. She asked in a muffled voice, "What are you doing?"
