A shadow was cast over her head, and even without looking up she knew it was him because he had a pleasant and refreshing smell.
Their bodies were pressed tightly together, separated only by thin clothing, and her face was pressed against his chest, which was hard and firm.
The sides of her cheeks were visibly red.
My heart was beating fast.
Shortness of breath.
They were so close that her mind went blank and she didn't even notice the elevator had reached the first floor.
"We're here." An Xinghe suddenly reminded her when he saw that she didn't move.
Lu Wanying suddenly lowered her head and ran out of the elevator, her steps showing a hint of panic.
An Xinghe followed her without knowing why.
Seeing that she was about to hit the car in front, he walked forward, grabbed her wrist, and shouted worriedly, "Be careful."
Lu Wanying looked at the electric bike that was less than half a meter away from her, and she almost crashed into it.
He closed his eyes in shame and then opened them.
"Wanying, why are you so absent-minded? What are you thinking about?" An Xinghe looked at him intently.
"I was thinking...what to eat later." Lu Wanying bit her lip, her eyes gradually falling on the hand that was holding her arm.
Strong and powerful.
An Xinghe noticed her action and subconsciously withdrew his hand. Lu Wanying immediately withdrew her gaze.
Just as she was about to continue walking forward, someone suddenly grabbed her right palm and interlocked their fingers.
Warm and thick.
Lu Wanying glanced sideways and looked at him in surprise.
He said calmly, "In order to avoid what happened just now, I'd rather hold your hand."
Before she could react, he took her hand and walked away.
"Have you decided what to eat?" An Xinghe asked gently.
"No." She had no appetite at all, and what she said just now was just a reasonable excuse to cover it up.
An Xinghe looked around and said considerately, "Although uncle doesn't want us to rush back, we should still go back early and wait outside the door. You have no appetite, so you want something spicy. How about Cao's duck neck? It's quick and spicy enough to eat."
She suddenly stopped and said subconsciously, "Don't you think you can't eat spicy food?"
A glimmer of light flashed in An Xinghe's eyes as he looked at her.
Lu Wanying quickly lowered her head, a trace of regret flashing across her brows.
How could she not help but care about him?
"It's edible, let's go."
The two of them went to Cao's Duck Neck and ordered some dishes. When he was about to ask for medium spicy, Lu Wanying interrupted him and said, "Boss, slightly spicy is fine."
She explained uncomfortably, "Cao's duck neck is very spicy, and I can only eat mildly spicy food."
The two of them sat at the table and waited.
Not long after, it was served, along with two servings of snow-white rice.
She took a bite of the dish, and her appetite for spicy food surged like a tide, and the depression in her heart seemed to be relieved by a little bit of the spiciness.
An Xinghe couldn't stand the spiciness and hissed in his mouth. Lu Wanying glanced at him and couldn't help but said, "Why don't you rinse it with cold water before eating?"
"No thanks." An Xinghe then ate two dishes with almost half a bowl of rice.
Lu Wanying also realized his behavior when she saw that the food was not spicy anymore while he was eating, and lowered her head silently.
She felt so hot and comfortable, just like sweating all over after a long run.
After eating, her face looked more lively and less lifeless.
After An Xinghe found out, he said with a happy smile, "Are you not angry with me anymore?"
She looked at him in shock. How could he know that she was angry with him?
"You haven't smiled at me once since I came here today." Even so, An Xinghe's words were full of doting.
Seeing through her intentions, Lu Wanying looked around randomly, not looking at him.
"Is it because I didn't come to see my uncle yesterday, or because of Chu Xinrou?" An Xinghe said bluntly.
"I'm not angry, you're overthinking it." Lu Wanying refused to admit it.
An Xinghe scratched her nose with his fingers, his action revealing his doting.
"How could I not know what you were thinking? When you called me yesterday, Chu Xinrou was discussing student union matters with me. It wasn't what you thought."
"What was I thinking? I wasn't thinking about anything, okay?" Lu Wanying was stubborn and her face was mostly red.
It's not that she doubted that he liked Chu Xinrou, she just... just didn't like him to say a word to Chu Xinrou.
"Okay, you didn't think about anything, okay?" An Xinghe coaxed her in a tone that made her seem very ignorant.
"Let's go buy dinner for my dad." Lu Wanying changed the subject directly.
An Xinghe looked at her in a panic and a smile appeared on his lips.
The two returned to the ward.
Lu Wanying gently pushed open the door and saw Lu Rong with his eyes open.
"Dad, did you sleep well?" She smiled faintly.
"Okay." Lu Rong looked at the two of them meaningfully.
The two of them were alone together for a while, and the atmosphere was obviously much better than when Xinghe first arrived.
"Dad, I'll feed you dinner then."
As soon as she finished speaking, An Xinghe was responsible for raising his bed. Halfway through feeding him, she felt a little uncomfortable in her stomach.
"What's wrong?" An Xinghe noticed her look and asked with concern.
"It's okay." She shook her head.
The next second, my stomach started to ache and my face turned pale.
Lu Rong subconsciously said, "Wanying, is this a stomach upset?"
An Xinghe frowned, "Uncle, it's all my fault. I shouldn't have let her eat Cao's duck neck. Maybe she didn't eat well in the past few meals and ate spicy food on an empty stomach, which caused her discomfort."
"Wanying, go to the toilet quickly. I'll feed uncle."
An Xinghe took the box from her hand. Lu Wanying couldn't help it, so she covered her stomach and ran straight to the bathroom.
He frowned tightly, looking remorseful.
Lu Rong comforted her, "Xinghe, it's okay. You'll be fine after going to the bathroom. But I feel that Wanying is obviously much happier than this morning. Did something unpleasant happen to you two before?"
"No, it's just a small matter, uncle, thank you for believing in me and giving me a chance." As early as when his uncle insisted that he and Wanying go out for dinner together, he knew that his uncle must have had a quarrel between him and Wanying, and that was why his uncle deliberately created the opportunity for them.
"It seems that you have lived up to my trust. It's obvious that Wanying has been coaxed by you." Lu Rong said with a smile.
Although he was feeding Lu Rong, he was worried about her condition all the time, and Lu Rong saw through his thoughts completely.
Fortunately, Lu Wanying came back soon.
"Are you okay?" Lu Rong and An Xinghe asked in unison with concern.
"It's okay. I just went to the toilet and I'll be fine." Lu Wanying said energetically, as if she were reborn.
An Xinghe and Lu Rong smiled at each other.
They really look like a family.
