Chapter 49: Secret Love Story

Lou Zhijing looked at him maliciously, peeled a piece for him, dipped it in a little soup, and put it in his bowl, "Xinghe, have one, you said Wanying and I are good at eating spicy food, and you can't eat spicy food, so you won't get a seat when we go out to eat together in the future. It's like drinking, it's all learned through practice."

An Xinghe watched Lu Wanying eat with relish, smelled the spicy taste, swallowed his throat, and tried to eat one.

The spicy and pungent taste filled his entire mouth. He wanted to spit it out, but two pairs of eyes were staring at him, so he forced himself to eat it. It was so spicy that his stomach felt like it was burning on fire.

He subconsciously picked up the small cup and found that the water in it had been finished.

Lu Wanying noticed this action and handed him her water cup. "You drink it first. I don't need it for now."

An Xinghe couldn't stand the spicy food, but he could wait a while, so he picked up her cup and drank the water.

Lou Zhijing sighed, "Xinghe, you are too pitiful. You can't even bear to eat one. Otherwise, you can eat more barbecue."

Not long after Lou Zhijing finished eating, his phone rang like a bombardment, and he picked it up irritably.

"Dad, what's the matter?"

"Get back here right now."

"I'm having a midnight snack outside. You don't have to wait for me."

"You're third from the bottom in this exam, and you're still in the mood for a midnight snack? I give you half an hour to get back here, or you'll be grounded at home during your free time. You're not allowed to go anywhere."

"Dad, I'll be right back, okay, right away..."

The other party hung up the phone angrily. Lou Zhijing picked up a few skewers of barbecue, stuffed them into his mouth, and said incoherently, "My dad is urging me to go back, so I'll leave first."

He disappeared in a flash.

Now there were only two of them left, and the atmosphere was inexplicably awkward.

The boss filled their glasses with water.

An Xinghe peeled a lobster with gloves on and put it in her bowl, catching Lu Wanying off guard and making her a little nervous. "You...eat it too, I can...peel it myself."

"Eat more if you like it. It's a little too spicy for me."

An Xinghe's tone was very gentle.

She asked subconsciously, "Then you should have ordered something slightly spicy."

"Don't you guys like spicy food? Don't spoil your fun because of me." An Xinghe saw that she was panicking and temporarily said "you guys".

The atmosphere fell silent again. Lu Wanying watched him put the peeled crayfish into her bowl one after another. She was restless and uncomfortable. Maybe his behavior was... too ambiguous.

She just made up things to talk about to dispel this uncomfortable feeling.

"Your classmate Lou Zhijing is carefree, and his personality is quite similar to mine before." After she said this, she wanted to bite off her tongue.

What are you talking about before?

"Really? Do you like him?" An Xinghe asked directly.

Lu Wanying subconsciously opened her eyes wide to look at him, and stammered, "I've only seen... a few times, of course... not anymore."

An Xinghe gave her a meaningful look and continued, "But he plans to pursue you, so you have to be mentally prepared."

The words were too direct and she didn't know how to respond. She subconsciously picked up the water cup and drank it, trying to hide her panic.

After she finished drinking, she noticed An Xinghe staring at her cup. Her face suddenly turned red, like a red apple. She said embarrassedly, "I forgot to change the cup."

"It's okay." An Xinghe appeared to be completely unconcerned, but inwardly he was secretly delighted. "Did you do poorly on the exam?"

Lu Wanying's face was filled with sadness and melancholy. She didn't care whether her grades were good or bad, but she was afraid that her father would not be able to accept it.

"It won't get better." She knew it.

"Have you ever thought about hiring a tutor?" An Xinghe asked.

"No, it's all in vain for me to improve my grades."

The point is waste of money.

"If you need me for anything, you can come to me." An Xinghe said considerately.

She replied vaguely "OK". She ate almost all of the lobster, and he peeled more than half of it for her.

After eating, An Xinghe paid the bill.

"Thank you for the midnight snack tonight. My home is not far from here. I can just walk back."

"I send you."

Finally, the two walked side by side towards the house where she lived. The journey was so quiet that it was reassuring, and they soon arrived.

"I'm going up."

"Good night." An Xinghe said meaningfully.

"Good night." Lu Wanying said and went upstairs.

She lay in bed, tossing and turning, but couldn't help but send him a QQ message.

"Have we arrived yet?"

"arrive."

"Have we met somewhere before?"

"This sounds like a story about a secret crush. Why, you have a secret crush on me?"

Lu Wanying couldn't believe he would say that. Her heart beat faster and she didn't know how to answer.

"Just kidding, you didn't even know me before, how could you like me? You're not angry, are you?"

"without."

Lu Wanying went offline, and her mind flashed involuntarily with those big, bright black eyes, as deep as the stars.

An Xinghe looked at the endless night, his eyes as deep as the stars seemed to be writing a story.

I know you, but you don’t know me, so I have a crush on you.

.........

Mi Tanhua took off her shirt and stood in front of the mirror at an angle. There were several scars on her back from a few days ago, and a few more bruises because of what happened today. A girl's back, which should have been delicate and beautiful, looked like a general who had been on the battlefield for a long time, with scars crisscrossing each other, which was shocking to see.

She took out the ointment that Lan You bought for her, squeezed a little out, and rubbed it on the bruises on her back with great effort. In the pain, she recalled what happened on the night of the 4th.

She originally thought that the family was just going out to sing KTV, and her mother repeatedly reminded her to put on makeup and dress up beautifully, so she didn't doubt it.

It was not until she arrived at the KTV that she discovered there were other middle-aged men, all surrounded by women. Not only was she forced by her parents to toast these middle-aged men, but one of the men even touched her.

She didn't want to, and during her fierce resistance, she was pushed and hit the table, and then beaten by her father. Only then did the man calm down. Fortunately, nothing happened afterwards.

When I got home, I was naturally scolded by my parents.

Two days later, the creditor came to the house, but the parents were not at home.

"Misang, open the door for me, open the door." The group of people spoke in a fierce and arrogant tone. Seeing that she did not open the door, they kicked the door so loudly that the whole corridor could hear it.

She squatted beside her bed, covered her ears with her hands, curled up in a ball trembling all over, pretending not to hear.

The house shook as if there was an earthquake.

This torture lasted for more than ten minutes. Perhaps the group of people left because they were tired, but she was still frightened.

The cold touch of the ointment on the bruise suddenly brought her back to her senses. Crystal tears fell from her eyes in the mirror. She gradually squatted down and hugged herself tightly.

Why would a good family become like this?

What should she do?
