Chapter 50 Weird Old Man

In the fields of Wangjia Village, everyone was working hard to harvest the wheat.

The people of Zhoujia Village, Yanjia Village, and Caijia Village wielded their sickles, their hearts pounding over their own wheat fields. But what could they do now? A torrential downpour might arrive on their way back, so they could only harvest as much wheat as possible for Wangjia Village.

"Damn God! Are you going to let me live?"

Someone cursed, while the others remained silent. "Yeah, are we going to be allowed to live?" Last year's autumn harvest was preceded by a heavy rain, soaking all the grain.

We've barely survived the year relying on the Daqing Mountains, but if the wheat gets soaked again, we'll be dead. We haven't had proper food for over a year!

On the Daqing Mountain, Dabai was galloping on the mountain with Jiaojiao on his back like a flash of lightning.

With its sensitive nose, it smelled something unusual deep in the mountains.

The bird fairy flew in the same direction as Dabai over the mountains.

The dark clouds were getting lower and lower, about to crash over Daqing Mountain. Dabai suddenly slammed on the brakes, throwing Jiaojiao off him. As she was about to crash into a tree trunk, Jiaojiao immediately focused on the red mole on her forehead. Before she could enter the space, a large black shadow suddenly jumped out and hugged Jiaojiao.

It was the black bear that had bitten Heizi from Zhoujia Village before!

However, the black bear looked at its palms, but there was nothing there. It looked at Dabai with a bewildered expression. Dabai stayed where he was, not daring to move forward, his teeth bared and his face grimacing.

Jiaojiao had already hidden in the space. She didn't know why Dabai had suddenly braked, but she knew there must be a reason. Jiaojiao immediately emerged from the space, only to see Dabai barking at her anxiously.

Jiaojiao looked at the black bear again. It was the same black bear that had attacked Zhoujia Village last time. Now the black bear also looked terrified.

In the forest, there were hurried and messy footsteps, and many animals were fleeing in panic.

There was a faint sound of thunder above my head, and the thunder seemed to be rolling and rushing in the distant clouds.

Dabai was too afraid to move forward, so Jiaojiao could only call out to the big bird in the sky: "Bird Fairy, take me there!"

The bird fairy swooped down quickly, and Jiaojiao quickly stepped onto its back. The big bird flapped its wings and flew out of the woods and into the mountains.

On a flat area on the mountain peak, the strange old man took out a huge golden basin, knelt before it, and kowtowed several times.

"Saint Lord, we have found a place with abundant spiritual energy. May you attain enlightenment and ascend to heaven soon."

After he said that, he knelt down on the ground and didn't get up for a long time.

Inside the bowl, something small was moving, slowly growing larger and larger. It was a black snake. The snake grew larger and larger, bursting through the golden bowl and twisting and rolling on the ground.

The strange old man pressed tightly against the ground, his whole body shaking like a sieve.

The wind started to blow. A vortex gradually formed with the black snake as its center, and the vortex grew larger and larger, reaching the sky.

The men harvesting wheat were stunned by the sight. They stared with wide eyes as a strong wind swept over Daqing Mountain. The wind gradually grew stronger, forming a vortex that swept branches and rocks and roared down from the mountaintop.

A large white bird flew in and out in the strong wind.

"Oh my God!" someone murmured.

At the foot of Daqing Mountain, the captain came out of Old Lady Feng's house and prepared to go up the mountain with Old Lady Feng to take a look.

As they stood at the door, a sudden strong wind blew up from the mountain, and they both cried out in unison, "Jiao Jiao!"

Old Lady Feng immediately ran up the Daqing Mountain. The captain, a step behind, also followed her up the mountain.

The thunder in the distant clouds was getting closer and closer. The bird fairy carried Jiaojiao on his back and walked through the strong wind. Jiaojiao braved the strong wind and lay tightly on the bird fairy's back.

Suddenly the bird fairy saw its target, it let out a long cry, and then dived down at a high speed from mid-air.

The black snake's thick body rolled on the ground, and its tail slapped the ground, stirring up more sand and gravel.

Lightning crackled and struck the snake's body, and a burning smell spread.

The bird fairy seized the opportunity and pecked the black snake hard. The snake slapped the ground in pain, trying hard to break free from the bird fairy's hard and sharp beak.

The bird fairy held the black snake tightly in its mouth and refused to let go. The black snake twisted its body and threw the bird fairy to the ground several times.

The feathers on the bird fairy's wings fluttered in the wind and continued to spin around the vortex around the snake's body.

Jiaojiao was also knocked unconscious on the bird's back. She remembered that there was a wooden sword made of peach wood in the space. She took it out hurriedly and stabbed the black snake three inches away.

Another bolt of lightning struck the black snake's body, followed by thunder.

Boom, boom, boom.

A cluster of flames shot up into the sky from the Daqing Mountain.

From the gust of wind to the lightning and the burst of flames, it only took a moment.

"Fire!"

"Our Daqing Mountain is on fire!"

"Hurry up and put out the fire!" someone shouted.

Daqing Mountain is their mother mountain, which nurtures the local land and water and has saved countless lives!

They dropped their sickles and rushed towards Daqing Mountain.

Director Zhang reacted and quickly shouted, "Be careful! We can't go up the mountain if the fire is too big!"

No one listened to him. They all rushed towards Daqing Mountain.

Old Lady Feng and the captain, who were rushing up the mountain, also saw the fire halfway.

"Jiaojiao!" Old Lady Feng screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Chirp—" a bird chirps.

On the Daqing Mountain, in the flames, a big white bird spread its wings and flew high into the sky from the raging fire.

The wind died down, and the fire gradually dwindled until it could no longer be seen. The dark clouds pressing down on Daqing Mountain gradually dispersed, and the setting sun shone a red, dazzling light from behind the clouds.

The wind died down and everything calmed down.

At the foot of the Daqing Mountain, everyone looked at each other in confusion.

"Are you still going up the mountain?"

"Let's go up and see if the fire is out. We can't see clearly outside." Director Zhang followed a group of people to the foot of the mountain, saying breathlessly.

"Where is the captain?" Technician Li looked around but didn't see the captain. He just saw the captain leave Director Zhang and go to Old Lady Feng's house to look for Jiaojiao.

Technician Li walked quickly to Old Lady Feng's house, but there was no one in the house.

Lianhua and Shuixiu squeezed out of the crowd and ran into the house.

"Go up the mountain, Jiaojiao and the captain are not at the foot of the mountain. Go up the mountain to check the fire and look for Jiaojiao and the captain!" Technician Li was the first to rush out of the house and shouted.

"Grandma isn't here either!" Lianhua and Shuixiu came out, "Grandma isn't in the cafeteria, and she's missing!"

"Let's go!" The people of Wangjia Village raised their arms, and a huge crowd rushed towards Daqing Mountain.

At the same time, Old Lady Feng and the captain had just climbed halfway up the mountain when they met Jiaojiao, whose face was covered in dust, hair was flying in disarray, and her whole body was in a mess.

"Jiaojiao!" Old Lady Feng stepped forward quickly and hugged Jiaojiao into her arms. She cried with joy, and her hot tears fell on Jiaojiao.

On the mountain, the flames gradually dwindled until they died out, leaving behind a huge crater in the ground with a pile of black ash in it.

Beside the pit, the ground was covered with dirt and dust. Suddenly, there was movement in the dust, and a strange old man climbed out of the dirt and stones. He saw the black ash in the pit, his eyes looked strange, and finally he laughed out loud. As he laughed, tears flowed down his face, and black and gray tear marks hung on his face.
