Chapter 115: The Yin Soldiers Pass Through

Chapter 115: The Yin Soldiers Pass Through

They were still on the main road, with little vegetation on either side. In the night, even the ground and rocks were covered in black ash.

“Come again!”

"Come on, stop coming. Captain Jiang is gone. Why are you still coming?" Qin Qinsen gestured to the three team members to look ahead with a headache.

There was only a wasteland ahead. The road had not changed, but Jiang Wei was gone.

The short-haired woman maintained her punching stance, a hint of confusion flashing across her energetic eyes. Upon hearing Qin Qinsen's words, she immediately shook her head and came to her senses, "Where's Captain Jiang?"

After picking up the gravel on the roadside and clearing away the remaining Yin energy on it, Qin Qinsen gestured for her to hold the stone. Then, he tapped the stone a few times and said, "Point the way."

The stone flew out with such speed that several people could hardly keep up. The team member with the backpack was a little slow to react and almost tripped over a stone on the roadside, stumbling and following the stone crookedly.

Jiang Wei knew he was in Yuxia Mountain, but the path beneath his feet didn't match the map in his mind. Qin Qinsen, who had been marching alongside him, had disappeared without a trace, and the team members behind him hadn't caught up.

The surroundings were completely empty, with neither living people nor ghosts. Instead, the Yin Qi was flourishing with great fanfare, constantly eroding Jiang Wei's mind.

"Ouch." The reckless guy with a backpack bumped into Jiang Wei's back and cried out in pain while covering his nose.

"who?!"

Jiang Wei turned around to attack, but just stopped his knife when he saw the face of the person coming. "Xiao Song?"

Although he recognized the team member's face, Jiang Wei actually became more alert. Disappearing and reappearing inexplicably was not normal.

"Captain!" Xiao Song was delighted. "Sister Qiao Qiao, the captain is here!"

Xiao Song shouted and waved randomly, but unfortunately no one answered, "Hey, where are you?"

Jiang Wei frowned slightly when he saw this, "Be steady."

The familiar words of instruction calmed Xiao Song's excitement immediately. "Yes, Captain."

"Where are Master Qin and the others? Why are you the only one here?"

"We must have entered the ghost domain just now. Master Qin used stones to ask for directions after breaking through the ghost domain. I tripped and was a step behind them. I just caught up with them and ended up here." Xiao Song lowered his head slightly, afraid to see the captain's stern expression.

The captain always reminded him to stay calm and pay attention to his surroundings. Even so, he still managed to trip himself up behind the captain, which was really unacceptable.

"There's a problem here, be careful."

While Jiang Wei was speaking, he and Xiao Song stood back to back, both of them looking around nervously.

Nothing happened.

Unlike the outside world, Yuxia Mountain was peaceful. No police cars, no fishermen refusing to move, no Mr. Huang leaning against the car door smoking and waiting for someone.

There were no ghosts or evil creatures, only the gloomy energy all over the mountains that constantly impacted the two people's minds, announcing that the undercurrent in the mountains was surging.

"There's movement."

Xiao Song had sharp ears and stared towards the northwest and spoke seriously.

There were regular clanging sounds, like the rubbing of armor, interspersed with the sound of horses' hooves. From afar, figures appeared, marching in step.

"Hold your breath as the Yin soldiers pass through."

Before the mission, Jiang Wei and his team had researched Yuxia Mountain. They knew it was once a battlefield, the burial place of many heroic warriors. They hadn't expected to actually encounter ghost soldiers.

Xiao Song's muscles tensed, and he reached his right hand behind his back and took out a red rope from his backpack.

"Don't move, hold your breath." Jiang Wei reminded again.

The ghost soldiers were very fast. In two breaths, they were ten meters in front of them and their eyes were fixed on the two of them.

Holding your breath is of no use.

As if in a panic, Xiao Song, who usually obeyed the captain the most, moved quickly, pulled the red line and started moving.

The sharp dagger cut the rope around the neck. Jiang Wei lowered his body and knocked the man down with a sweeping kick.

Before he could make the next move, he heard a uniform voice from all around him: "Hoo!"

The ghost soldier pointed his spear directly at the two people in the field, as if he was about to charge in the next second.

'How dare you! Surrender now!'

A voice came from nowhere, and at a command, five ghost soldiers stepped out, vanishing from their original position before reappearing beside Jiang Wei. Their spear tips flashed with a cold gleam, a murderous aura clinging to them. Just a simple brush against them made Jiang Wei's hair stand on end.

"Thief, come and die."

A familiar voice caught Jiang Wei's attention. He turned his head sharply and saw Qin Qinsen and his team members appear. As they advanced, the ghost soldiers all moved aside to make way for them.

"Is that what they say? It's always played like this when I watch dramas." Qin Qinsen strolled leisurely in the garden, as if he didn't see the ghost soldiers passing by, his posture was very relaxed.

It wasn't until they reunited that Jiang Wei noticed something was wrong. "Xiao Song is...leaving his soul."

Xiao Song was slumped on Lin Qi's back, his head tilted to one side, his hands hanging on both sides of his body, and his eyes closed.

"Captain Jiang." Qiao Qiao stepped forward and gestured for Lin Qi to put the man down. "After we separated, we entered the ghost realm. Master Qin was supposed to lead us to test the waters by throwing stones, but Xiao Song fell and lost his soul."

"Then I met General Deng and his Deng family army, so I took a ride with him. Thank you, General Deng." Qin Qinsen bowed and thanked the general who was sitting on a tall horse not far away, in exchange for a return gift.

"Master Qin, there's no need to be so polite. Without Master Qin's intervention, we would be stuck wandering in the mist of Xiashan, forever unable to escape. The search for someone is nothing compared to what Master Qin has done."

As he said this, he dismounted and saluted Qin Qinsen with many ghost soldiers.

Qin Qinsen appeared kind on the surface, but he felt helpless in his heart.

Sure enough, the job the old Taoist priest asked him to do was not that easy.

After midnight, a mist gradually rose from Yuxia Mountain. Any sentient being, whether human or ghost, who entered the mountain would gradually lose consciousness and become trapped. Coupled with years of accumulated evil energy, Yuxia Mountain became a truly dangerous place for ordinary people.

And these ghost soldiers are only one in ten million trapped in the mountains.

When they encountered them, General Deng was training with his soldiers in the mountains. Every strike of his spear was so powerful that only a few other ghost troops dared to confront him. The other ghosts retreated in fear.

But Qin Qinsen was anxious to find someone, so he threw a stone to ask for directions. The stone he threw just happened to penetrate General Deng's chest. It turned a corner halfway and went inside.

Faced with eight hundred ghost soldiers, Qin Qinsen had no choice but to capture the leader first. He used a stone to mobilize the Yin and Yang energies and forcibly awakened the leader, General Deng. He only persuaded him to help find the person after promising to liberate the Deng family army.

Noticing that the stone emitted a faint red light on General Deng's heart, Qin Qinsen barely raised the corners of his mouth and turned his head to look at "Xiao Song" lying on the ground.

"I'm in a hurry, so my method may be a bit direct. Please forgive me."

As he spoke, he pointed his right hand in the air at "Xiao Song" and made a grabbing motion. Following Qin Qinsen's movement, the ghost soldier took a step back. Suddenly, "Xiao Song" rolled his eyes and twitched continuously, making a "grunting" sound.

Jiang Wei felt a little reluctant; after all, they were his own soldiers. Although he knew Qin Qinsen was trying to bring Xiao Song back to life, the sudden appearance of a team member having a seizure was a real test of his resolve.
